KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE (2014)
~
The suit is a modern gentlemen's armor. Kingsman are the new knights.
My mind is BLOWN. What a f*cking spectacular movie this is. Insane amount of fun, mind boggling action pieces, classy British humor with quite an original plot and terrific villain. This is by far the most stylish British movie I have watched to date and enjoyed it so much that I was fully devoted to it. The prime credit goes to its cast, and outstanding direction of
Matthew Vaughn.
Colin Firth has never been more bad-ass. Big fan of him. From "
The King's Speech (2010)" to this, MAD props to him.
So many great scenes in there. But two stand out from all the others, and boy do they pump your heart. The '
Bar fight' and the '
Church scene''; the latter being the best of both worlds. Screw the cartoonish violence, I FREAKIN LOVED THE ACTION. Whatever filter and technique they chose, it works miraculously well, looks dangerously aggressive and feels energetic. The '
freefalling scene, that gave me goose bumps'.
The amount of technology shown is also amazing (Ah, the ideas :|); '
Holographic meeting', '
badass umbrella', '
star wars program' ... and '
The Suit'. I have never been more fascinated by a 'bespoke' suit; the temptation is not going down :S '
Oxford, Not Brogues'; Words to live by Gentlemen. -_- Just love the way how honest it is when it comes to formal wear. RESPECT! (On a side note, Is it just me or the dangerous outcome of overusing your mobile devices was implied almost clearly? Just a mind twisting thought, what If all this was actually possible? Wait, don't answer that.)
~ "
A gentleman's name should appear in newspaper only three times. When he's born, When he marries, and when he dies."
Kingsman got jokes as well. One doesn't need to try hard to understand its references to Bond movies. "
In old days they had a phone in the heel as well"; '
asshole' (oh I still remember that -_-). Some scenes are more hilarious in themselves.
Eggsy's '
V sign after Parkour', or hearing him say "
Are you taking the fucking piss?" while wearing a suit. This guy did it so beautifully that every bit of him was demanding a laugh. Lets not forget the Villain,
Valentine. With a lisp in his tongue,
Samuel L. Jackson was making me laugh hard. What a character.
Mark Strong as the trainer and quartermaster was well suited for the role.
I am going to rate it
10/10 because lets admit it, its been 3 days since I have watched it and I still feel it has given me the entertainment of a millennium. The over-the-top bullet-fest the final scenes were, after the colorful heads were blown; very few movies kept up the same level of entertainment and enthusiasm for me.
Kingsman made me extremely happy, and I laughed a lot. This was classy, Fun, and freaking AMAZING to watch.
P.S. How the flying f*ck did
Fifty Shades of Grey manage to beat this movie at Box Office ($569m vs. $403m)? Just how?
