Mad Max: Fury Road...............(9/10) watched at Vox Cinema, Dubai. My God what a effin awesome kickass intense movie. Loved it like crazy, top notch action sequences, u can literally feel ur adrenaline rushing through ur body while watching this. Must watch!!

Kingsman: The Secret Service.............(8.5/10) watched in HD, tbh the plot was quite stupid and funny but still this will never bother you, the awesome action and soundtrack will overshadow this. And that church scene was the best, i'll remember it for a long time!!

project almanac: 7/10
quite enjoyed this one, some people are giving it average to bad reviews but i think this one's quite deep if u look at it from an angle, sure they guy's crazy about love and that's the thing that eff's everything up because of his one shot at love but the girl was hot :p

anyways it was a different one from others and the idea etc is fun too. taking nickel metal hydride battery power from a prius etc haha self charging battery almost feels like doable :p

cymbeline: 3/10
big name cast but not for me, made me quite bore with all those shakespeary dialogues and stuff....

jupiter ascending: 7/10
i was waiting for this to come to cinemas but it never did :( anyways saw this and it was good enough. a bit under the weather but the action etc was good. the drama and such, though i would had want to see more of eddie redmayne in the first half he was given no screen time at all tbh.

the wedding ringer: 6.5/10
fun stuff, some scenes too funny while others bore, in the end these kinda things come up to one thing really but this one was from a mans perspective :) the best man :)

CHAPPIE (2015)

"Indestructible Robot Gangster No.1, Son!"

When Chappie begins, its chaos, destruction, a sense of urgency, gangsters getting their asses whooped by bad-ass robots; much like District 9 (2009) or Elysium (2013); but the similarities end there. I could say that it feels like a Robotic version of Aliens from District 9. So in a way, you could say that I didn't fancy the same concept being repeated. Though i did love the way Chappie made me laugh.

Its difficult to explain, but i can understand the difficulty in making this movie. Robotic Bodies were extremely impressive, and their movements, however they have done it, were just too good. But behind the idea, it felt dumb. Or maybe kept dumb intentionally, for light entertainment. 'Conscious.DAT', 'Transferring Consciousness', WUT ... ? Yeah, it felt a joke to me, and didn't feel believable even a bit.

So it basically comes down to the 'titanium baby', Chappie, 'acting retarded', 'learning gangsta', 'feeling fears', 'wearing bling', 'jacking cars' while acting innocent; yea, he was hilarious ... and annoying everytime he said 'mommy' and 'daddy'. Cool robot, though. 'Jissis its high' -_- 'Mommy & Daddy's' weird accents were making me laugh even more. Hugh Jackman as a baddie was refreshing. Job well done, because he really made us hate him, lol.

Chappie was basically the same experience for me as Elysium, except a little more enjoyable. Its not as Classy or well designed (environment wise) as Elysium, but does keep the feel of 'advanced tech world' with a beautiful simplicity; which i respect. Action scenes are a minority in this one, but well done; hats off to the, as expected, wonderful cinematography (minus the slow motion stuff). I don't feel highly of Chappie, because of mega hype behind it, but its a very good entertainment, and a likeable concept. 7/10 Oh, and it has a Happy ending, which i happen to adore.

Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015)

This is one of the coolest action spy movies to come out in recent years, and the recent years have had their share of spy movies. The cast is absolutely phenomenal and each does great in their roles but its the direction that attracted my attention. Bursting with energy, athleticism, wit, vigor and a zest for palpable action, this is a movie well done indeed. It is a trademark Vaughn movie with brilliant set pieces, cocky one liners and tremendous suits.

The story is your run of the mill spy story but it is done with a winking self awareness that you don't think of it as a negative, rather you relish the cartoonish Bond-ish villain and an over the top world encompassing evil story line. The only difference: hard R Rating.

To conclude, this is a must see for action movie fans and just a fresh treat for everybody else. Watch it and you will have a jolly good time.

Chappie ... Could have been much better had it been made by British or some Hollywood director n producer but anyway loved it, lacked the cgi towards the end n quite less destruction. But all such movies r in line with on screen atmosphere which district 9 had set years ago.
6.5/10

Survivor, well what was this al about? Why there is no character development in such movies? On one side it takes ages for some characters to age but in here Mr PB got older a lot quicker :)
For action sake it was gud but lack of cohesion n kinda generic story line with mediocre plot, I lost interest after first 40 minutes. Mia has learned a lot of facial expressions through her RE films n she was gud with her scenes. Just missed to be a worth watching movie. 5.5/10

contains minor spoilers , you cant write review of horror movie without minor spoilers

Saw the rating decided to give it a watch , the plot seems kind of funny n scary you are haunted by some unknown thing who is gonna kill you , untill you pass it on to some one else , and the only way to pass it on is by sleeping with that person , on top of that even when you pass it on , the other person needs to pass it on to cause if he/she gets killed ,the thing will come back for you , its like a pyramid scheme you have to keep on passing .

That being the plot , , now the movie i kept on watching it till the end that will find the conclusion to the whole stuff , but it seems so stupid , there is a guy who just want to bang the girl he don't care about the curse he just wanna get laid , and i don't know why the hell he even took her to the pool what was the whole fucking point of that.

Seems like the director was molested in childhood and was told to molest some one else or he will die .

Fucking disgrace of a movie , had potential but some of the stuff is way to funny

Layer Cake

A british gangster film directed by Matthew Vaughn. This guy just knows how to have style in his movies and this is no exception. This was the only movie of his that I didn't watch so I thought why not.

The movie is about a professional Drug Dealer played by Daniel Craig who is planning to leave the business soon but gets caught up in some last minute jobs and everything spirals out of control. Daniel Craig gave an awesome performance. And the rest of the cast weren't too shabby either. Different characters, multiple developments, paths crossing etc really made the movie fun and entertaining throughout. And DAT ENDING. MAN OH MAN. Loved it.

The plot itself often felt convoluted or messy or hard to follow but it goes fine with the movie's name, having many layers of it. It isn't anything new, typical gangster movie plot. The execution is just classy.

There isn't much action in the movie so if you go in expecting a lot of gangster action, you WILL be disappointed.

Soundtrack was good.

Maggie

I never thought I would see Arnold in a role like this. And he surely pulled it off.

Maggie is a movie about a father and his daughter who has been infected with the zombie virus and how he spends there last days together. The zombie world this movie takes place in was actually kinda fresh and realistic for a genre like this. I mean the virus is all spread and whatnot but society hasn't gone to shit. The authorities, the daily lives etc are still going on, they just have to deal with this new disease. The virus itself doesn't turn you into a zombie in like minutes or hours. It actually takes several weeks.

Now both Arnold and Abigail Breslin were great in their roles. Arnold showed that he has subtlety in him, that he can play emotional dramas. And I really liked this side of him.

The cinematography in the movie was often great.

Now the movie has some good emotional scenes, and the scenes where both father and daughter are together and are just trying to get through this are great. But then there are other scenes which just drag on, feel unnecessary and really bog this movie down. It is only 90 minutes long but still felt like a really long movie.

Honestly, if it had more of those father-daughter only scenes, and the other stuff was just cut out, I would have loved it. And the emotional impact this movie wanted me to have by the end would have been felt.

Blackhat (2015)

I love Michael Mann. He is one of my favorite directors and every time I hear that one of his movies I coming out, I get excited. He is among the foremost reasons that I love movies. I watched Last of the Mohicans and Heat in my formative years of cinephilia. His movies have a palpable sense of excitement, a genuine pulse, they are bursting with energy.

Even though his two most recent movies have not earned the raves that his earlier 90s work did, I still admire his work ethic. He is also one of those guys who have wholeheartedly embrace digital technology. I, for one, am ok with digital movies. I like their handheld feel, their realism. I also get why many people don't like them (too shaky, just a gimmick), but that's just a subjective matter.

Anywho, Blackhat is imbued with classic Mann tropes: an ex-con, a protagonist who is an expert of his field, has a strict work code. There are gun fights in the streets, there are enough night shots of skyline to fill your facebook cover for the next two weeks. Where this one lacks is the dramatic tension. Too much typing and exposition and not enough substance in the story. The cast is very good and they all do a good job. I was excited to see the mighty Thor in a Mann movie and he did a fine job. To me, it seemed he was channeling Neil McCauley throughout. But Viola Davis was great to watch, as always. The two Asian actors, I don't know their names, were pretty good especially the inspector. The romantic angle was a little forced but played out well.

The only complaint I have with this one is that it failed to hook me into it. Its setup is timely but the stakes seem....too vapid, so to speak. The fights are well done, but the ending is clunky. All in all, for Mann junkies this is good, otherwise it is a slightly better thriller than your average fare but not by much.

6.5/10
