I agree, the movie although wasn't as good as Days of Future Past. It held its own. Especially Cyclops and Quicksilver. God I love those bastard. Magneto and Professor X were awesome as always. I won't even hate on Apocalypse. But what really pissed me off was Jean.
Spoiler: show
I can't believe for all her powers she was so fucking useless. The Professor would have his hair lol if not for her. Everyone's fighting and she's just there telling fucking Nightcrawler to save him while he's fighting. Honestly, she was useless albeit the last bit.
Spoiler: show
I noticed. But let's not forget she is a younger version of Jean, which means much less experienced and very unstable with her powers. That changes in the end where ProfessorX asks her to unleash her full potential ... which she does. It's not shown as explicitly as it was shown back in X-Men 3 (right before Jean's ultimate death) but it still manages to highlight her true potential as a younger mutant.

And you know, touches like these make me have yet another look at the old X-Men movies multiple times. That's exactly why I mentioned that X-Men movies have a very long lasting impression on me, unlike other Marvel movies which I deeply adore and enjoy but kinda forget about them months after. X-Men however, stay in my heart for a very long time.

NOW YOU SEE ME 2 (2016)

"Seeing is believing ..."

Now that's some proper sequel to its predecessor. With very likable, not necessarily comprehendible, tricks up its sleeve, its still flashy as before, however not classy or stylish enough. Explanation of the revelations from first movie just doubles the fun. Good laughs with those 'hypnotism fails'. And admirable friendship bond between all the characters.

Its such a treat to watch the cast put forward their magic. I was a little disappointed not seeing Isla Fisher; so wanted to see the chemistry between her and Woody Harrelson. But Lizzy Caplan makes you forget her pretty quickly. She single handedly overshadows the whole cast with her charming and rock solid performance. Just loved watching her more than anyone. Harry Potter kills it with his mad act.

I can overlook it's issues. Like, 'that card-chip swapping scene was a bit too long', and absolutely hated the 'shaky cams', and stunts could've been more 'stunts' and less 'tricks'. But I don't really want to complain since the experience was DEEPLY enjoyable. Beautiful ending. I loved it very much. Highly entertaining for me. 8/10.

I agree to a certain extent. As weird as their connections are. Jean did unleash her powers at the end. I think it was the Phoenix Force, but still she was pretty darn useless for the entire movie. I'm just saying she should have done more.

THE CONJURING 2

As I always say, I am not a big fan of horror. At this stage it doesn't keep me up at nights, but the agony of watching a 2 hours of suspenseful thriller, a horror ... it's just a tremendous pain for me. Despite that, I still want to watch it fully to uncover that hidden mystery. However, Wow. This movie just does not waste any time at all. I am glad they made a sequel to Conjuring (2013).

The cinematography is absolutely beautiful. The camera setting and camera pans maintains the coherence and momentum between scenes. And it just doubles the fun. Jump scares are not as bad but the way James Wan builds up the tension, slowly but gradually, creating a terrifying suspenseful atmosphere, it goes batshit crazy pretty quickly.

Janet is cute as hell. Just loved watching Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The chemistry and love between them just feels so natural. Valak, well, the demon nun is scary. His painting was a nightmare. Likable ending, but with another mystery ... about 'Peggy and that Chair' :S James Wan is like a favorite director for me. And The Conjuring film series is a fine example of how a horror movie should be made. 8/10.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS (2016)

"Lookout earth, its playtime."

Okay I take it back when I said "impressive stuff is yet to come", while reviewing the first movie. Because this sequel is pretty much the same. Worse, in may ways. The name is a mouthful. Turtles are even more dull, having even less interaction with April (Megan Fox). Mikey is so cool, but I chuckled like once, and not even a smile after that. Its so boring. CGI is the only part which feels a little better. Daylight CGI is astonishing as always ('waterfall sequence', 'rhino and warthog', 'airplane sequence', 'Krang'), but that too was garbage in final bits ('turtles rooftop stop after getting beacon'). Don't get me wrong. I don't dislike it. But I don't like it either. 4/10. Maybe kids will love it.

Train To Busan 8/10. After seeing so much hype around the internet for this Korean flick, finally watched it and man its worth every second of your time. Although its not perfect and has its low moments
but imo the best zombie movie out there, way better then world war Z.

Not good as previous ones in term of stronger story , and a villan who was 50/50 not much impressive , but the good thing was the new young characters , specially Jean , Cycolops , Storm and Night crawler and top of that they have cast very talented young actors to play them , Sophie , MCphee and sheridan . Hugh Jackman seriously need to be recast man he looks old now and body shape was kinda out to .

Those questioning Jean powers she is young hasn't realized much of her potential and ability use powers she need Professor guidance .

Dont know what lie ahead in the franchise what story they gonna adopt and is it gonna serve as a prequel/reboot to original franchise X1-2-3

8/10

CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE (2016)

Surprised that it isn't a Kevin Hart show. Its all The Rock, and that big dude is a funny f*cker. 'Soul gazing', 'role playing', 'airplane sequence', 'action', 'comedy', you just name it ... every single scene declared a clear winner; Dwayne Johnson. I laughed my ass off many times. The chemistry is stunning between both Hart and Johnson. For a movie lacking a proper script, this movie is particularly well done specifically by the actors. And I absolutely loved the shizzness out of it ... except for the ending. They had to make Johnson naked. Not funny at all, and dumb move. 7/10 because of massive entertainment.

The Wailing: Korean / Japanese horror movies are always good to watch. A good intense movie it was 7/10.

Viral: this movie could’ve been much better. The virus outbreak idea was acceptable but why didn’t they showed more infected zombies or whatever it was. I didn’t get bored watching it so it was just an OK movie 5/10.

Friend Request: Another movie involving Facebook. A girl who had 800+ friends on Facebook came down to 0 friends. A little bit like Unfriended 5/10.

Bite: Another horror flick. A lady gets infected by a bug bite. Lots of GOO. Some scenes were really disgusting. Felt bad for that girl for what she turned into 5/10.

The Shallows: A low-cost movie with only one location, one protagonist and one shark (CGI). All about surviving. The shark killing scenes was best I’ve seen in Jaws / Shark kind of movies 6.5/10.

The Nice Guys: Great duo, great acting, great direction. Story was not that good but the acting of this duo (Russell Crow & Ryan Gosling) made it special. One of the best comedy movie I’ve seen 8/10.

Triangle (2009): O man this movie was amazing. It was released way before Source Code, Predestination & Edge of tomorrow. All these three movies looks like inspired from this movie (Triangle). In the middle of the movie I was like WTH is happening. The suspense was so good that I didn’t move a single time while watching it. A perfect movie in all aspects. Well if anyone haven’t watch this movie and like these 3 movies (Source Code, Predestination & Edge of tomorrow) then they should watch Triangle. I loved it 9/10.

Anyone here know about good movies discussion groups on Facebook? IT doesn't have to be about only movies. But should be a decent one atleast. If anyone does know, let me know, as many as you know. :p

A friend is asking, and it won't be bad to join them myself either. :p

P.S I already know about "The Pakistani Film Forum".

Watched ARQ 7.5/10. Really entertaining stuff, based upon the concept of time loop and all that things related to time travel. Story is simple but still hooked me all along and
in the end they left lot of things to viewers imagination which kinda sucks, i really hope of sequel in near future.

Sleeping With Other People (2015)

Sleeping With Other People is a romantic-comedy-drama about two people with sexual and relationship issues, who after finding each other help to bring about reforms.

Now, this was a pleasantly surprising watch for me. I thought it would be some typical romcom, and I only gave it a watch because I like both the leads. But I was wrong.

The story wasn't anything new. The beats felt similar to every other romcom (For the most part), and the movie is predictable. BUT it is the execution that it made it feel fresh. It had genuine heart, took its time in more emotional moments, and gave its characters room to breath.

The core of the movie is the relationship between the leads, and boy oh boy did Alison Brie and Jason Sudeikis nailed it. Best performances of their career so far for me. They had such a palpable chemistry. Both worked off each other so well, and it all felt really natural. Very rarely do I see this in movies like these. And the director knew it, so majority of their conversations had much longer cuts than what you'd expect, giving the conversations more weight. Supporting cast was pretty good too.

There was a point in the movie where, if it ended there, it would have been a bold move and I would have liked it more, and would have respected that. But it goes on for like 10-15 mins more for a more safer end.

All in all, this movie is a cut above your typical offerings from this genre, and is definitely worth a watch.

7.5/10

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
