I agree, the movie although wasn't as good as Days of Future Past. It held its own. Especially Cyclops and Quicksilver. God I love those bastard. Magneto and Professor X were awesome as always. I won't even hate on Apocalypse. But what really pissed me off was Jean.
Spoiler: showI can't believe for all her powers she was so fucking useless. The Professor would have his hair lol if not for her. Everyone's fighting and she's just there telling fucking Nightcrawler to save him while he's fighting. Honestly, she was useless albeit the last bit.
Spoiler: show
I noticed. But let's not forget she is a younger version of Jean, which means much less experienced and very unstable with her powers. That changes in the end where ProfessorX asks her to unleash her full potential ... which she does. It's not shown as explicitly as it was shown back in X-Men 3 (right before Jean's ultimate death) but it still manages to highlight her true potential as a younger mutant.
And you know, touches like these make me have yet another look at the old X-Men movies multiple times. That's exactly why I mentioned that X-Men movies have a very long lasting impression on me, unlike other Marvel movies which I deeply adore and enjoy but kinda forget about them months after. X-Men however, stay in my heart for a very long time.
