Blown Away (1994)

Its kinda i am more fan of 90s movie thats for sure. Newer additions don't have juice as old ones. well just saw this movie last night. An Excellent intense, Crime and Drama pack. Based on Two alleged Irish terrorist who were trained as bombers. However, Jeff Bridges off track from his job and decided to join Bomb Squad for good cause. while Tommy didn't left his passion towards bombing and terrorise the community. After escape from jail he start off his mad work. Jeff Bridges seriously is a good player in his roles. never let down. 8/10

Full disclosure: Never read any comics. My yardstick is just the comic book movies, and various cartoon movies.

Finally managed to catch it in the theatres before it got taken down. I am glad I did. This movie wouldn't be enjoyable on a small screen. I am not gonna go all in and say this is a terrific movie or anything.

It has lots and lots of problems, with editing (the musical cues are great, and I loved the songs, but it felt more like a music video than an actual movie scene. So many song changes in a span of barely twenty minutes). The villain is really really weak. Not to knock too much on Cara Delevigne's acting prowess, but getting her covered in CGI (below that I am pretty sure something out of Victoria's Secret) and swirling to a make-believe blueish green thingy shooting a beam into the sky is not a good villain. Her motivations, her brother?!, her eventual vague take over the world plan, everything reeked of rehash and tired screenwriting tropes. Lastly, Jared Leto was so...boring as the Joker. You could literally see him trying to dial up the crazy to 11 and it all came across as fake. I did not like his performance one bit. Not gonna compare it to Ledger, but even as standalone character, he was so forgettable. Maybe the good stuff was left on the cutting floor, maybe. But what was on screen, didn't impress me.

So, lest I appear all too negative, let me give you the positives. It is a very entertaining and fun movie. I was not bored at all, and that is mainly due to the excellent chemistry of the Suicide Squad itself. They worked against each other really well, even if the movie was interested in telling the story of only three, and the rest were supplements.

Will Smith is terrific as Deadshot. He was badass, and broken down when it needed to be. He inserted genuine moments of levity. His command and charisma came across in his character, and it was a very good performance. Good thing he chose this over Independence Day: Resurrection.

Margot Robbie is, without a doubt, the show stealer of this whole thing. She dialled the crazy to 11 and sexy was merged into it, somehow. Her deranged performance, along with the energy she put into the role, worked wonders. Her presence elevated the movie for me. Her comedic timing, her expressions, everything. She worked well with Will Smith, much more than she did with Leto.

Viola Davis does what she does best: playing a badass. Her Amanda Waller is the case of perfect casting like Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.

Joel Kinnaman is also great here. He had a straight badass role, but he inserted some real humanity into it, even if he had the oldest trope to play: lover trying to save his beloved. He had great banter with Will Smith.

Jay Hernandez and Jai Courtney (yes, him, fellas) are also pretty damn good to watch. Killer Croc and Katana are given a bit of a short thrift, but in a movie stuffed with so many characters, it's not surprising.

P.S. Really disappointed with the Batman scenes in the movie. I thought he would be doing something cool or some shit. He was just...there. I am not sure how I feel about this Joker against the Bats. We have seen one perfect outing of that fight, let's do something fresh. Deathstroke seems like a step in the right direction.

saw " Mechanic resurrection " at cinestar tonight

Spoiler: show

well this movie came out of the blue really, i wasn't expecting a sequel but jason statham back in action ok yes please :)

the movies action was great man and the kills ( accidents :D ) were great... the first one didn't had a lady or so but they added in jessica alba in this one and well they kicked it off quite fast with their romance and well that leads to the main story ..

tommy lee jones was in there but quite minimal role right near the end etc...

the action scenes are to be seen in the movie and everything else just kinda keep your mind shut but it was fine

Rating: 7/10

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

What an amazing watch it was. Outstanding action, fantastic casting and what an incredible cameos for Spidey, Antman and Black Panther (kinda racist, but whatever). It feels so awkward NOT seeing Scarlett Johansson's ass here. Black Hawk, Spidey's humor, Sarcasm ... I absolutely love the way Vision speaks. The tech is always outstanding in marvel movies. I am impressed how Civil War gives each character good screen time. They always make it look so easy. BARF ... really?

As always, one of the best fight scenes, despite the dreadful shaky cam. The villain seems to be the only downside here. Or is he? Pretty easily had them fight one another. Civil war escalates slowly, but predictably. Not fun to watch them fight one another, but hey, it works. 8/10

Mechanic: Resurrection (2016)

Not even Jessica Alba in a bikini could make this movie any better. And I love Jessica Alba, in a bikini or not. But I wish they had spent more time in being imaginative with their action scenes, and set pieces (and a bit of story, too) than they were focused on making sure Alba's dresses had cleavage throughout the movie.

This is so paint-by-numbers that I think even the fucking paint is dry now. Hitman is hunted by his former partner, gets recruited for one last job, or else his beloved will be killed. That's it. It does not get more complicated than that. Oh, wait, I forgot: all the kills have to look like accidents. That is important for some reason. I have no idea why this is the sequel to the original Mechanic. They could have named the guy anything. Maybe they were hoping that the goodwill of the first one will help this one at the box office. Oh, wait, what fucking goodwill? No one was asking for a sequel to that.

I'm sorry if I appear too negative. I don't mean to. It's just that it was definitely NOT a good movie. Jessica Alba spends 85% of a movie captive, and then she starts hitting guys in crotches like it's fucking WWE. Jason Statham misses 0% of the 100% shots he took. I think no one even managed to land a punch on Statham. Even Superman was like, "Dude, chill! Even I get punched once in a while". Tommy Lee Jones is in this for all of 7 minutes, and less than 15 lines. Why? Who cares? They wanted a serious actor. Michelle Yeoh. Oh yeah, she's here...why you ask? Fuck if I know.

P.S. We, as a species, have to put a limit on the number of times Statham takes his shirt off in a movie, for no reason. 2/10

Maggie's Plan (2015):

I would have rated this much higher had it maintained the quality that it showed in the first forty minutes. It had a terrific start, smart, funny, a little self-absorbed, but it was light and charming, with that terrific cast. Then the second half got a bit too full of itself. Trying to go for a full fledge screwball thing that didn't entirely work. But, still, I had a good time, mainly due to the terrific cast.

This had the potential to be great. It is merely very good. Nothing to scoff at.

P.S. This is the most-Woody Allen movie NOT directed by Woody Allen.

7/10

NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING (2016)

Pretty much a recycled version of Neighbors (2014), a little less witty, stupidly sexist, not fun at all ... but kinda crafty with its humor. Not exactly awesome watching underage-looking girls acting 'hoes'. Definitely doesn't look cool for Chloë Grace Moretz. Good acting, though.

I missed mamma bear so bad. Rose Byrne is criminally toned down here. And Zac Effron's abs are so jacked up that he basically looks ugly. Also how the hell do they film kids holding 'those' kind of toys? :S That's like in-your-face stuff. Still, very fun to watch. 5/10

P.S. I dislike that gay sh*t so much.
