4X Anti Aliasing is the max the 360 GPU (and PS3 GPU for that matter) can do physically, performance hit or not. Very few games on the 360 (and even less on the PS3) actually employ it. Hell even COD4/MW2 that need to run on sub HD have 2x.
AW is going to be a great tech demo if nothing else.
Alone in the...what? Come ONNNNN! You're comparing it to that crap? I didn't READ any previews or hands on impressions except the last few sentences and critics seem to think that "there is NOTHING like it out there".

Holy bejesus!! You're really uptight on words aren't you? Who drew a direct comparison? I get the 'vibe'... with the whole torch/light thing going on... obviously Alan Wake' ll make better use of it and all. But crap... hahahaha take it easy eh

I just hope it's spine-chilling/bone-rattling scary and disturbing like no other....the current benchmark for me is the store room scene from Silent Hill 3
Also, this is the perfect game to experience that Ambient Lighting gizmo with!

Yea...the flashlight part is true but playing Alone in the Dark was a nightmare in itself. Worst controls ever...on Xbox 360 version atleast. PS3 version got some decent reviews though.
I hope Alan Wake sets its own standards, better than Resident Evil, Silent Hill or Alone in the Dark. All 3 of them were horror titles whereas Alan Wake is being marketed as "A Psychological Action Thriller"...like Condemned maybe?
What every horror or Pshyco thriller game needs is good atmosphere and a good storyline that will make the game a complete horrifying experience, Alan Wake has all the atmosphere it needs, The storyline is what will make or break this game.
Its not just another title. It took about 5 years to develop, its also an exclusive (making full use of the X360 hardware), this is gonna be the definitive X360 game. Remedy has gone all out with this one... much like Naughty Dog with Uncharted. That much IS to be expected. And I just have a feeling they're gonna deliver on all fronts. Same would be the case with Reach....except that it won't attract new audience as much as Alan Wake.

I just wish the screens can convey more meaning and thrill about this game. Apart from a torch light and a freaky ghost town, I don't see anything scary. I mean don't u think the 'creatures' should've been a bit ...er...ugly? grotesque?
Dude - nothing has scared me more than that particular elevator in basement - chase from the Pyramid head guy scene in Silent Hill 2. I could've felt my heart beating after that scene was over. SH3 was great too - I don't think Alan Wake targets to be scary in that way. I got a feeling that something new is coming around. And that's a good thing.
I have not played any horror games, RE 5 got me into this genre (though its actually not a horror game =P) btw i am not playing this game cause its scary, the story of this game really got me excited !!!
Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.
PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.
About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
