If somebody likes Halo than that person already HAS a 360. If a person did not like Halo 3 and Halo ODST and did not buy a 360 for these games than Halo Reach is not going to change that person's mind. But Alan Wake will. Alan Wake is going to attract a lot of new consumers towards 360. Many people will buy a 360 solely for this game.

yes halo is n wil never be a special title for me atleast but y didnt go for a console b4 NOW ... no its not that pc gaming is so called dying ... its just my current location :p
but i have to agree to nomad ... atleast its true for ... ME!!!

But don't confuse this thing, I do not mean that Alan Wake will sell more than Halo Reach. More people are going to play Halo Reach than Alan Wake. But majority of such people already own a 360. Alan Wake is going to attract more new hardware buyers. It will expand 360's market, that's why it is the most important game on 360 this year.

100% TRUE...Infact i shall purchase xbox360 for Alan Wake...Coz its my most anticipated game this year...
and sadly it turns out to xbox exclusive...so its compulsory to get a xbox360 now...(plus halo never attracts me)

Alan Wake is my most anticipated game on 360 and has the potential to be my favorite game on the platform. It is also the MOST important game for X360 during 2010 (in my opinion, more than Halo Reach).

Well I'll agree.. People more excited and eager to play Alan Wake than Halo:Reach(Includes me).....
But some gamers might disagree right Usuf:p:p

Alan Wake was in development way before Heavy Rain. You can compare this case with that of Forza 3 and GT5.

The trailer seems quite impressive. Really considering to buy another 360 :)

Same here. I don't care about sequel to Max Payne 2, i.e. Max Payne 3 as much but Alan Wake could be the real "PS3 quality" first party action title from Microsoft Game Studios. I don't really care MUCH about other 360 big guns like Crackdown 2, Fable III.

Only the people NEW to Halo (the kids) might buy new 360s for Halo: Reach. The fans, or the ones who remotely look forward to it already have a 360 but Alan Wake could be the killer app besides Halo & Gears.

My sixth sense tells me that I'm in a thread about a game that's GOTY 10.
I don't think I'm looking forward to anything this year more than Alan Wake (considering FFXIII is already here :p )

Or perhaps till Valve announces Ep 3 but that's besides the point :D

Alan Wake can easily be GOTY if it lives up to the hype.
and its one of the main reasons i bought a 360 in the first place.
was so captivated by its 2006 some are born to light some are born to endless night trailer

Alan Wake Receives T Rating from ESRB

One could easily jump to the conclusion that Alan Wake -- an atmospheric horror game from the folks behind Max Payne -- would wear an M rating from the ESRB like a blood-soaked badge of honor. That's apparently not the case, however; Microsoft just announced that Remedy's upcoming thriller will sport a T rating when it finally hits store shelves on May 18.

by the looks of how Alan Wake is coming along, i bet Remedy is gonna surpass Naughty Dog in a blink

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
