What is interesting that nobody that I know of, complained about DS2 which had exactly the same design, dimensions and thumb sticks. Everyone used it for more than 5 years and didn't say a word.
And suddenly PS3's controller has flawed design which breaks hands and causes arthritis. Why? Because we like 360's controller after using it for an entire generation. Why? Because we're used to it.
Same as how everyone was fine with cellphones before the iPhone came.

^ I don't see how removing a hard keyboard with a full-size screen didn't change the way we use cellphones. No matter, I'll reiterate then.

Sometimes people don't know what they're missing until something comes out and show them. Secondly, my statement was just to put a real-life example on what you said yourself.

Donno i m lost!!
I also started playing Uncharted in full swing, am up till the 6th chapter. At least i'm having a lot easier of a time with this than Killzone, maybe Killzone's controls are just plain bad in comparison to every game ?? ..
there is nothing broken with KZ2 controls, it only has a shit load of input lag. i remember reading somewhere that it was unavoidable due to the game's excessive use of post processing effects. its the ONLY reason i was frustrated with this game. KZ3 addresses this problem by a significant margin but u will still feel the weighty controls. still KZ3 is far more fun than kz2

Ok, so the next PS3-only game I finished over this weekend:

Uncharted 1

Here's my brief impressions:

- The game looks great, colorful, varied environments and seamless game play (i-e no loading, and besides some texture popin, there really wasn't anything outright 'wrong' with the visuals.
- I don't get all the love of the naughty dog animation system, the animations are jittery, drake awkwardly shifts back and forth if you make quick movements and jumping fom ledge to ledge feels really weird, some times drake makes huge 10 meter long leaps, sometimes he makes 2 foot leaps, but they all look the same "animation" wise.
- I had some minor issue with the music kicking in and out whenever guards would show up, but I guess I am playing the game via jailbrkoen methods, so some annoyances are to be expected.
- Game play was good, simple, like Gears but a bit more fluid. This is by far the most easiest to get into PS3 game i've played.
- The difficulty has a ridiculous spike near the end, when one hit shotgun enemies start charging you too much :-/ .. the very final boat sequence is a really bad segment game play wise.
- The few QTE's the game has, are very bad. This is definitely NOT how to do QTEs.
- Nolan North sounds .. i don't know.. i've heard him so much by now, so that 'unqiue' aspect has worn off already.
- I swear the six axis controls are fucking broken, especially whenever the zombie things grab you. It's good later PS3 games ditched them altogether -_-

Overall, I quite enjoyed the game because of it's easy to get into game play, it got me well accustomed to the Dualshock 3 sticks without needing to twist my fingers in weird ways. The game also looks fairly nice, the only thing it could have used was some anti aliasing because the edges in all outdoor environments (with bright lighting) stand out too much.

8/10

The next game I've started playing is .. dun dun dun.. Yakuza 3.

It may have been a novelty in 2007, but by now it's been so over done that there was no aspect that felt unique or intriguing to me. The voice acting is good, there is no doubt, it's a quality production through and through. The story is very "cliche" though, like The Mummy but on a tropical setting instead of the deserts.

Also I do have to make one small note here. Yakuza 3 has FAR better detailed character models than MGS4 etc, I mention MGS4 specifically because they're games of around the same time frame. Though Yakuza 3 is PAINFULLY sub HD, the smear is SO BAD, but the cut-scenes are running with different lighting and much higher poly character models and they look fan-fucking-tastic. Dojima in the intro looked almost like a real guy, the only thing that gave it away was the low poly clothing texture and the aliasing on his finer features in close up shots.

Yep, there's nothing really going for the story but the characters and exchanges between them was half of what made Uncharted series so good for me.

Shyber , have you tried the yakuza games ? If not, I would seriously recommend those to you. They may look like action games up-front, but they are action RPG's with some of the best story and writing you'll find in the video game medium. The fact that the characters look so f*cking amazing is just an added bonus with all the close up shots of faces, where you can see minor details like the streaks of saliva on a person's mouth when he speaks. Just look up some screens and you'll see how much detail goes into these games.

The third one comes with a handy "previously on" feature that sums up the first two games really nicely, it's been a looooooooong time since i played Yakuza 2 back on the PS2, so I had to watch it too. really informative.

I tried, but the controls felt pretty stiff and couldn't get into the game.
Have you tried Sleeping Dogs?

yep, sleeping dogs is a very GTA like game though, Yakuza has its roots in a brawler, and is probably the closest thing we're gonna get to a Streets of Rage style game in the current time-frame. Also, fuck Shenmue, Yakuza is FAAAR better than Shenmue.

Yakuza is freaking brillaint. It is, imo, the most underrated PS exclusive title.
BTW do you remember one brawler (I think it was based on jap/chinese actor)brawler game...which was really good on PS2, had the best hand-to-hand combat system..came out towards the end..Yakuza serie's combat reminds me of that.

I think i'm only one who is going to recommend playing Little big planet.
I really liked creative ideas of this game.Well there's tons of levels online to play every level online have it's own quality.
Multiple creative ideas.Without online levels this game feels dull
Well try Little Big Planet 2 if you're not interested in playing games like that. second one is alot better and have some cool stuff

Oh God no!

It was based on an american movie, starring an Asain American actor. It had similar combat to, now popular, Batman series (just turn it a bit asian stlye). You could also pickup things and fighting with multiple enemies. It was brilliant.
And I know you know the game, cause you like it aswell
