This depends on many factors

1. Your future plans.
2. Your family support and where are they based?
3. Which field you are more interested in . Surgical Vs Medical ( and there are dozens of sub specialty in both)
4. I am not current /Sure about Canada, as i live and practice in Pakistan ( and have been to USA medical institutes only). But Competition in North America (US and Canada) is pretty tough
5. IF your family is in Canada and you plan to go abroad in future, then go for the USA residency training rather than Canadian residency
6. But above all. Right NOW , focus on your House Job ( and preferably do it in Pakistan). A good and dedicated house Job can lay down the foundation of a very solid medical career and sklls
