In a more serious context, Fillion addressed the current trend of fans actively campaigning and petitioning for a favorite actor or actress to get a certain part. "If you wanted to see a particular person as Batman, I think one of the worst things you could do is shove it down someone’s throat as far as the new director of Batman or the new producers of Batman. Probably the worst thing you could do if there’s someone you want to be Batman is sort of rally." Fillion's words ring true as the casting selection for superhero roles tend to be who fans least expect. The popular or obvious choice seldom gets the part.

Ben Affleck will join Henry Cavill in Warner Bros.' Man of Steel sequel, the studio announced on Thursday.

MISFIT is the most closest word to descirbe the casting decision.
I can't see him fitting the Bruce Wayne aura either let alone batman :\

I can't imagine him driving a lambo or a ducati like Bruce wayne :S I guess the story of the dark knight might be a bit too serious that lead to this casting decision.

We have a limited exposure of Batman played by Bale. So our perception is strong, too strong and doesn't let us see the possibility of character being played by someone else. I am pretty sure he will give the character a whole new color and dimension. Only imagining him in the roles of Bruce and Batman increase my interest for the movie exponentially. His enigmatic personality, serious attitude and dynamic acting abilities will leave much to cherish for. Chin I wonder if is an issue. What are the make up artists for...
