There are some weired Mouse related problems in Windows 8.1 and i am not sure whats taking microsoft so long to fix them. 2 days ago a minor fix came out here: Microsoft fixes Windows 8.1 mouse issues, but not for all games | PCWorld

I haven't tried it yet but i am a little confused as in how come other people are completely silent about it. Baghi, The Avenger !! Aren't you guys facing weired mouse lag problems?

abobobilly, since I installed Windows 8.1, I haven't played games other than TF2 and I had this issue but solved it by increasing the sensitivity of my mouse in-game, I thought it's normal since the same problem I had in Ubuntu as well when I was testing TF2 for Linux when it newly came out.

^ Its a damn annoying problem for hardcore FPS players.

I installed "State of Decay" and it also had this issue. I am still waiting for "CoD: Ghosts" to get a fix.

BF4 had no problems whatsoever because of "Raw Input" option.

Okay, i have just tried the update released by Microsoft (which included support for 16 Games), as well as the Manual Method for Games which aren't in the support list.
Here is the update: Mouse pointer stutters or freezes when you play certain games in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2

The problem i am facing isn't exactly like Microsoft described it, but it is actually quite close (slight stutter in mouse, its like mouse is skipping some frames or dpi).

Anyway, I didn't notice if any of the (16) games by Microsoft had any problems because i didn't check them on Win8.1 so i can't say anything about them. But tried to do the Manual Method for "State of Decay" and it didn't work. I'll try it on the Ghosts Single Player to see if it actually makes a difference, but apparently i don't think i should get my hopes high until Microsoft releases a universal fix because its clearly a problem of Win8.1.

EDIT: ISSUE STILL NOT FIXED PROPERLY

There is still annoying amount of jitter in the game and not only that, it has developed same problem under Windows Desktop :S WTF is microsoft doing man

---------

Another update of KB2908279 on 15 of November (previous one was released on 8th) ... and it fixed Call of Duty Ghosts' problem for me. Alteast now i can play in peace.

State of Decay is still giving me trouble under Windows 8.1 with jittery mouse control.

Apparently, Microsoft is slowly releasing fix for different games slowly, and the update number (i.e. KB2908279) is kept intact. Which means, there might be future updates too which add support for different other games.

Link to Microsoft Website for both x86 & x64 versions: Mouse pointer stutters or freezes when you play certain games in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2

What is wrong with Microsoft yar? I don't see these types of problem with hardware and software before!
Is this because of Steve Balmer retiring?

20 Year-Old Designs A Better Windows Than Microsoft

This needs to happen...

Guy does what Microsoft couldn't...
It is really good, but definitely worth only for Desktop systems. Purpose is very different from what Microsoft targets. i.e. to make Tablets/Desktops/Mobile have same UI and UX

BTW i like this new start menu (Win 8.1), easy to browse through and search installed applications. I think there is no point that one need to see desktop (more than 2/3 of screen covered) while one tries to open/search some application.

I have one query .If I install windows 8 on one Computer and I have windows 7 on the rest, will I still be able to share movies and pictures across the computers ? Because ASFAIK One could not share files and folders between computers on which one was running XP and the other was running 7 .

I would appreciate it if the replier tags me or replies with quote so that I get the notification :)

i did not install any update since the installation of windows 8.1. Yesterday i install updates for 8.1 now my pc is very slow and crash after some time. And one more problem my mouse also stop working randomly . (working fine in windows xp). I am cursing my self for installing updates. I can not afford to re install windows right now due to important data. i am using original windows.

furball! List me down the problems. And tell me which mouse are you using? And what exactly do you mean by "Crashing"? Is it the "Desktop" which is crashing or the "OS"?

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
