Well I'm jumping the gun. Gonna upgrade from pirated win 7 with a dirty install. Wish me luck guys.

BTW I successfully installed Win 10 and its activated. I also disabled win updates and uninstalled one drive. Now to clean install my GPU drivers in peace

on my dreamspark account i am seeing 12 months , after 12 month this account will be expired i guess. so better be sure to use it before anything goes wrong. anyhow enjoy

Like somebody earlier mentioned in this thread, when it is expired you can still login but can't order anything. So just order anything you want to and keep the keys. Universities do renew it by the way.

Yeah i was gonna say that. Get product keys of whats needed. Else its not worth the same to be able to login but not able to get what you want.

Currently Licensed Windows 7 Home premium edition version has been installed in my laptop and wanna upgrade to Windows 10. From which Windows options should i choose to download. Options mentioned below.

You have to upgrade to Windows 10 Home, in order to stay legit.

If you are activated even after clean install (no loader or KMS), you will remain activated no matter if you used a crack to get free upgrade or not.

i successfully installed windows 10 from bootable usb and activated it through kmspico.

dude which software did you used to make your usb bootable? Win USB Maker doesn't seems to be working though. I wanna downgrade back to win7. This new piece of crap aint for me.

dreamspark is always for 12 months. It gets renewed on an yearly basis so I wouldn't worry unless you'd be graduating and leaving the university

Unless you intend to clean install, you can roll back to Windows 7 via Settings > Update & Security > Recovery (Go back to your previous OS)

I already left few years ago. 08 was my batch . But you enjoy if you intend to stay connected with university upto the completion of yours graduation

Usman Bhai, first u buy 8gb usb then plug in to lptp/pc then download iso 10 file then make iso bootable usb using win 7 usb tool from microsoft web page .. simple and easy step

For other (normal) keys, Windows request MS server to verify if the key is legit or not. But in free upgrade case, it will send PC's HWID to MS server and on successful verification it will activate itself with this generic key.

After free upgrade, clean install is better option. This will make sure that you are genuinely activated without any KMS or loader.

Update :

I did clean install today and my win 10 got activated automatically.

I was on win 8.1 earlier activated via Kms then upgraded to win 10 and now clean installed. In both cases win 10 is activated.

So go ahead guys does not matter you have legit or non legit windows just upgrade to win 10 for free

There are 3 options appearing in Drop down.
1- 32 bit
2- 64 bit
3- Both - RKBladex

"Both" option means that setup contains files for both 32bit and 64bit and you can choose 32 or 64 version.

Since you were using Windows 7 64bit before, I recommend Installing 64bit verison of Windows 10.
