Post a trace route to the servers when the ping is like this, and then post one during the day when they're normal.
Hey ! , would do i need to disable out of these DSL settings to get a bit better ping ? i remember someone mentioning about this somewhere in this thread . Here are my DSL settings

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

i am on VDSL
With VDSL, I wouldn't mess with those options.

Pings can't get any lower.

Connections to EU game servers have been terrible past few days. Usually I manage to connect to most games with around 180-200ms after 12 am or so, but now it's like 270ms min and well above 350ms during peak hours. Seriously starting to get beyond pissed off at PTCL's random routing issues to EU servers. Can't wait till Nayatel arrives here.

I visited my exchange again today to inquire about my VDSL order and the guy rudely dismissed me that they don't have any VDSL modem available. I told him that its been 6 days and they still can't manage a modem to which he replied "Mere pass eik customer ka order 25 din se para hai uska abhi tak nahi laga". I am a fool i didn't record his attitude.
Anyone i can talk about this other then the useless 1218? murtaza12 StrikerX

They may not have upgraded the equipment in the nearby cabinet to support VDSL and the guy at the exchange is just stalling till he gets it upgraded.

And hopefully you should get it soon.

For those of you who have solid proof (pics, or anything) that PTCL is expanding it's GPON network in a certain area, or if you know an area where GPON is currently available, let me know, I'm compiling a list for the Fiber ISPs thread and PTCL has no known coverage map for GPON ready locations.

@Thinker if I'm not wrong, you used to have PTCL GPON, mind mentioning whereabouts you were in Karachi?
I live in Askari 3, Karachi Cantt.

They definitely have VDSL card in the local cabinet as my friend one street behind me is using VDSL already for more then 6 months. He's on 30Mbps package. They are just being lazy and incompetent as always.

Twitch streams have been working fine for me. Medium/High quality. Both on phone app and computer.

Greetings,

I had applied for a new VDSL connection which required new telephone line so paid 3K for the installation charges. However, I was told that due to shortages of VDSL modem I'd have to wait for 3 weeks before I can get one. On 28th Saturday, I got the VDSL modem installed on my premises. However, I'm suspicious that it is not a VDSL modem at all, but a simple normal ADSL2+ modem disguised as a VDSL modem. It hangs often and Wifi signals barely go outside my door. The temporary ADSL modem (which was a dual-antenna TENDA router) i was given while i waited for VDSL router to be back in stock was way way better. It had literally 0 downtime and I was getting nearly full signals all over the house. Attaching pics of the VDSL modem for reference, please mention if everything looks in order to you or is there something suspicious.

Both my smart tv subscription and telephone line are still not working and no amount of complaint has resolved it. Would appreciate alternate means of resolving my issues. I've already complained many times to PTCL_Cares on twitter, but to no affect.

Spoiler: show

Firstly, that is most definitely a VDSL modem.

Problem: PTCLs firmware makes the already crap modem even more crap. Internal antennas always have poor range.

Solution: Get it into bridge mode. Connect to a router of your choice, preferably something with 2 or more antennas, and configure PPPoE on that router, boom. Not only do you bypass the limitations of PTCLs firmware, but you get better reliability and signal strength by using your own router.

What's the difference b/w going into bridge mode and doing it the way you are asking to do it vs plugging an ethernet directly into the port of the modem and the new router without doing the things you have mentioned above?

As I mentioned earlier, the normal ADSL2+ router PTCL provides nowadays is a dual-antenna router (from Tenda). It was extremely good despite having crappy PTCL firmware and had outstanding signals all over my home. the VDSL router feels more like a downgrade than an upgrade to me
