No, ADSL comes in different standards.
G.DMT, ADSL1, ADSL2, ADSL2+ etc.
PTCL uses ADSL2+.

ADSL2+ has a maximum download limit of 24 Mbps and maximum upload of 1.3 Mbps. Though this is only possible in very special circumstances, when your line is in perfect condition and you are very close to the DSLAM.

You could for 12 Mbps ADSL2+, and then upgrade to VDSL whenever it's available.

They provide multiple 2 antenna devices from different vendors like DLink, Tenda and Zyxel, they all seem to have relatively decent signal strength.

Thanks for detailed reply! well my one of friend close to DP have 1024KBs download ( 8Mbps) but all 4Mb in my street are struggling with low speed( 100-200 feet away from dp). 12Mbps is out of my budget

Find out from your exchange. If your ADSL allows you to have a 16 Mbps line, you should be able to get VDSL.

Here u can see my 16mbps speed test its means my line support 16mbps pakage also no disconnecting issue also sharing modem stuats

bhai aby mary pass vdsl nai hai normal dsl hai esliye yah show horeha hai...mera sawal yah hai k mary line support kary gy vdsl ko app ny modem stats dekha hai

We both are in same boat , you have to contact your exchange they will tell you if its VDSL or ADSL, i applied for VDSL but they are not upgrading :/

Apparently, Yes. since i am facing same issue. I am getting below 50kbps most of the time on my 4mb connection, while browsing is just fine.

2day i call help line they told me my line support vdsl so order for vdsl but when i asked exchange they told me no vdsl...samjh mein nai ara yah ptcl kiya karein gai but i ordered for vdsl dekhty hai kiya hota hai

Nope VDSL not availble in our area, to convert ADSL to VDSL they just need to put a VDSL card in DP
