Damn, Torrent downloading speed on dsl 4mb really sucks these days. It was like 350+kbps but suddenly dropped to under 50 kbps. Wondering if you guys also suffering with similar fluctuation.

The pings to the gateway aren't supposed to be that high in any circumstances.

they didnt visited they are too damn slow just 1 broadband guy (area manager i dont what do they call him) came to my house yesterday and told me too bring my modem/adpater and laptop that time i was on ADSL. We went to the MSAG we checked around 4-5 numbers 4mb/8mb/12mb ports not a single one was crossing 120kb/sec and latency was fucking 130ms on all speedtests. He has submitted the report to his senior now the team will visit.
How long ago did this happen?
Installing a new MSAG or fiber cabinet takes time and it's a painfully slow process.
When the ONU in our area malfunctioned in 2013, me and my driver sat with the installation team from 7 PM till 2 AM every night while they got the new cabinet up and running.
Obviously the team were very happy because of chai and biskoot but the installation of the new cabinet still took 4 days and I had to live off the shitty Evo Wingle for those 4 days where the speed wouldn't cross 2 Mbps even with 4 bars of signal.
So maybe they're in the process of getting new equipment and scheduling an upgrade?

this started around in the end December. nope they're not in the process of getting any new equipment or any upgrade. but why the hell it works fine in the day and the problem starts after exact 7pm everyday.
Could be a strange coincidence, because if that affected your connection, it would then affect the exchange as well, causing a huge issue.
You should go to your exchange and make a huge fuss about this, complain to the manager and tell him you will complain to PTA now.
And after that, actually go and complain to PTA and tell them specifically the names of the employees who dealt with you, and then watch what happens. I'll PM you two email addresses and send it to those.

VPN influence in a global manner, if there is any kind of blocking or throttling by your ISP it bypasses that. So if PTCL throttle's your torrent it will bypass it like it does with mine.
Only catch is that the vpn server should be fast enough to match your max download speed which shouldn't be a problem since on average our downloads are not fast enough and if you are using a paid vpn service. I have 20 mbit and with vpn i have no problem reaching my max download on torrents. Although i don't use torrents many often.

It also seems that the GPON list is updated, because it shows the area that I live in and GPON was only added here just a few months ago.
Thanks to that URL, I found out that my 20 MB package has a 5 MB upload limit. The bi**hes at PTCL had capped me on 2 MB.
Just gave these monkeys a call to get it corrected.
Funny how it says upload for the 30 Mbps package is 7.5 Mbps but I'm getting 10.
My upload on 20 was always 5 Mbps.
