hereditary: 8/10
so there was alot of hype around this movie. i would say the hype was somewhat right. the first one hour the movie was all just sad and gloomy and all like a normal movie with a loss but the second half kicks off into a new direction which just spirals the movie to a 180 and brings in a whole new element to the scene. witches or cult and all and the last 10 minutes O sh*t no jumpscares but damn some very very disturbing and scary sh8t that i think while going to sleep just got reminded about and i felt a bit disturbing while going to bed lets just say that haha

the padre: 7/10
this one was a enjoyable movie. fun drama and all that.. starring nick nolte and tim roth...

The Purge 3: Election Year..................(7/10) watched in HD, nothing special here, same old concept which has so much potential wasted. Poor acting as well, I hope the fourth part turns out to be good.

Jigsaw.......................(8/10) watched in HD, aahhh after 7 long years we get another Saw sequel, although the level of brutality and violence was quite low compared to previous 7 parts the story line was gripping!

OCEAN'S EIGHT (2018)

"A 'him' get's noticed. A 'her' get's ignored. And for once we wanna be ignored". I think she got it the other way around. 'Good body, good boobs, good features, eyes like Bambi'. This is the summary of Ocean's Eight. It's glittery, sexy (or sexist?), kinda fun. Cast is visibly older, with the most charming being Anne Hathaway. Sandra Bullock spoke German. She need to speak more German :D. James Corden should do more movies. Amazing performance as insurance fraud investigator.

Fashion was extreme and so were the cameos. I mean, the only part i actually loved more than the movie. But here is the thing. All high budget 'oscar winning' stars, cameos, and nipples, don't really make it a better movie than it's predecessors. It's simple, hardly tries to be smart, and it's good entertainment. I like it. 6/10

JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM (2018)

~Jurassic Kingdom: Fallen World, more like it. No matter. Still a strong opening, with absolutely stunning moments. What's worse, is that how quickly it crashed downhill, right after the intro escape. So, when it's good, It's reeaalllly good. Other times, it's a boring dino-chase fest, with horrible predictable cliches. Lots is missing. Dino-fights, hordes of people getting eaten or mowed down by dinos, raptors hunt, dino-whale, T-Rex; this has been replaced by actors running a marathon, gazing their eyeballs out, and screaming their guts out. I find it funny that Dino's did the same thing, lol.

Lackluster humor, but commendable acting. Some of those screams truly showed the meaning of 'being afraid'. Sad to see Aunt Clarie not running in high-heels anymore. She got lots of praise back in 2015 for that. Should've done that again.

There are some amazing moments. The whole 'lava on the island' part was exceptionally well done. All thanks to the exceptional CGI. I had some good chuckles with that head butting dino. Very amusing. Multiple times, our feelings were poked for dinos. Indo Raptor was just vicious looking creature. Points for that. And at the end, they took the meaning of Jurassic World quite literally.

So. "Bad memories? Some were good". 6/10.

Extinction (2018)

Extinction is a movie about a dude (Michael Pena) who is getting weird dreams about losing his family or something bad happening to them and that turns into reality when an invasion force comes down knockin. And I was kinda looking forward to watching it. Looked like an alien invasion movie from the posters and trailers, something I love a lot.

What surprised me is that the movie actually has a deeper and compelling core concept which, if executed properly, could have been a great experience for me, but like so many others, it fails to give you a good time for the core idea of the story because the people in charge of making the movie didn't know how to make a good one.

The acting wasn't good for the most part. Michael Pena felt like he wasn't into the movie in a lot of scenes. Lizza Caplan was much better, though. But most of the cast was eh at best. Kids were annoying AF.

I didn't like the pacing, nor the structure of how the story was told. You get a build-up at the start where I was interested in seeing what the story was, but the movie just drops it suddenly and you hardly feel what it was trying to set up. The invasion was kinda meh. Some scenes I liked but most of it just didn't have the energy and with stupid shit happening here and there, I just didn't enjoy it. It also didn't help how the characters would just get out of one situation after another one by one quickly without any tension or build up which became repetitive very quick.

The second half of the movie got better at a point, and I loved the twist at its core but since the movie didn't do a good job of getting there, nor it did a good job afterward, it was mostly wasted. The movie feels like it should have been 2 hours+ cause 1 and a half hours felt too short for this kind of story IMO. And that kinda pissed me off because there is a good movie somewhere here, but it's buried under a poor production.

The CGI was sometimes bad, especially the last scene. Sure the movie didn't have a large budget but don't use a scene if it looks like you suddenly jumped to PS2 era or something. I liked some of the cinematography and the soundtrack was fine for the movie.

Overall, it could have been so much better. A series on this story would truly be awesome for me. But as it stands, Extinction was not good. The execution just felt bland compared to the story the movie was trying to convey. It's hard to talk about this without spoiling. I didn't wanna give big spoilers even though I didn't like it because I feel like many might still enjoy it as the twist/core idea might save this movie for some. So give it a try if you feel like it. Might enjoy it. I didn't.

And if I were to rate it, I'd probably give it a 4 or 5/10.

Summer of 84 (2018)

Summer of 84' is a drama mystery thriller and is about a group of kids in their mid-teens in a suburban setting in the 80s (as the title suggests) where they start to suspect that one of their neighbors might be a serial killer. Now, I didn't know anything about the movie. I just saw some good reviews and it looked like it will have a heavy dose of 80s Nostalgia+gave me Stranger Things vibes, so I gave it a shot.

The story is nothing new. And the movie definitely has cliches that come with stories like these. But at the same time, the execution of the story and how it ends not only surprised me but also made me have a great time pretty much throughout. It reminded me a lot of movies like Disturbia, and also Stranger Things as I thought it would. It's a mix of elements from the two giving you a heavy dose of 80s Nostalgia which I appreciated a lot.

The acting was great. The main four teens, in particular, did an awesome job. You could actually feel they are best buds and I liked seeing them work together. I also liked the moments between Nikki and Davey (the main couple you could say). They were sweet.

I loved how the movie felt very grounded pretty much throughout. It's not something like The Babysitter where Juda Lewis (one of the main teens) performed in too, dude is great in both btw. It feels grounded because the story is simple and the movie doesn't try to make you suspend your disbelief all that much. Instead, the movie uses great cinematography and AWESOME music to elevate the scenes it has and it constantly keeps you interested by keeping you in a state of doubt for most of the movie. And on top of that still manages to surprise you in the final act.

From the very first scene, I was in love with the soundtrack. The movie goes all in with Synthwave and it was just magnificent. And the movie utilizes it properly all the time. You see, the movie takes a lot of time setting up the story and creating tension. So much so that it's pretty much a slow burn in a way but one that is done right. Even small scenes or mundane stuff feels better when shot properly and accompanied by great music. And because of that, there was this constant vibe that, if like me, you love about these movies, you'll usually end up having a good time.

The movie wasn't perfect, though. Some of the writing was weak, a plot point or two were just stupid. And I wish the final act didn't felt like it was somewhat rushed. I loved how the main story was resolved but it also felt like the movie ends a bit too quickly after that.

All in all, this was a pleasant surprise. I wanted a good 80s nostalgia movie and this movie gave me just that plus more. It was fun, it was shocking and tense at times, and it was just plain entertaining. If this is your kind of stuff, I'd recommend giving this a shot.

And if I were to rate it, I'd give it a solid 8/10.

well the movie was quite hilarious its those rare comedy horrors from bollywood before of which was bhool bhulaiya if anyone watched it or remembers. thsi one was all sorts of crazy and openly open haha talk about sex, romance and all that goofy stuff while it had that element of horror/thrill too... rajkumar rao as usual i have seen only a few of his movies but quite a talented actor plus shardha kapoor was her usual self too. the two supporting actors with rajkumar were quite funny too. brought in their own unique funny side.

SKYSCRAPER (2018)

"If you can't fix it with duct tape, you ain't using enough duct tape."

In this movie, The Rock looks freakishly handsome in a suit, bunny hops with one leg, says "shit" climbing a tower, holds a bridge steady with his bare hands, repels down a high rise, uses lots of duct tape, and becomes a 'Knight with the Shiny Head' for 2 seconds.

This movie also teaches you some life lessons. 1) When there is fire, pull out your smartphone and start recording. 2) Fix your wounds with duct tape. 3) Police loves to work through TV screens only.

Ok, ok. I'm just playing. But I'm surprised that i kinda love this movie. I would much prefer Dwayne Johnson acting inhuman and kick all asses with mindless power, instead of acting human and remain lesser being. And if you're gonna pull out a knife during a gun fight, you better play some ninja shit and behead all of morons shooting at you. But it's ok.

The movie has some 'woah' moments you need to get your blood flowing. I was on the edge of my seat for most climbings (or maybe i'm just afraid of heights). Plus, the amount of tech shown in that high rise is just amazing. The money shot is in the ball. 8k hi-def panels on both sides. Nice CGI there. Zhao in a high rise was in The Dark Knight as well. And we all know have that worked out for him lol.

'Anyone got some Duct Tape?'

SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO (2018)

Apple has fallen a bit far from the tree. Emily Blunt's strong feminine touch was missing, and replaced with a sexy screaming beauty, Isabela Moner instead. And Benicio del Toro, this guy ... should just win an Oscar for his killer looks. The Sign talk was probably the most powerful moment of Sicario 2. Soundtrack are really engaging creating that tense atmosphere, and all those desert scenes were just too good to ignore. It's no surprise that this is a beautifully shot movie.

However ...

People have been shown multiple times about the hypocrisy and dirty tactics of governments, yet 9/11 being an inside job comes out to be a 'terrorists job'. US government "HAVE", in the past, started wars intentionally. Iraq, Afghanistan are prime examples. They keeps killing people in other countries for their own evil agenda, producing so called "Terrorists" in return, yet people are dumb cows defending such actions. F*ck this movie to being so blunt about it, rubbing it in our faces. "Fuck it all, Wipe it clean." 4/10

JUPITER ASCENDING (2015)

Oh my ... 'Could this get any weirder?' This is a sh*t fest of hard to watch CGI, fake laughs, really bad acting, stupid chemistry, endless soulless soundtrack, and a pimp lookin' Channing Tatum skatin' around rocket boots. And Mila Kunis, whose 'bowls are anything but royal', takes the award of the worst actress in Jupiter Ascending.

Stunts are creative, but poorly shot, and look just bad because of the worst CGI i have seen in recent movies. We can't even understand most of the time what is going on. A handful of scenes i did like, were 'stopping bleeding with a pamper', 'bee queen', 'capital planet'. So, they have obviously done some effort. But probably too much of it is confused, and the end product is as bad as it can get.

~"Time is the single most precious commodity in the universe." AND THAT, IT IS. So, save your precious time. Avoid this garbage. 4/10.
