It's the kind of movie that I had great time with, even though I will agree to it having tons of flaws.

Lets start with the story, it was mostly a mess. Throughout the movie, it felt like so much stuff have been crammed into a runtime obviously not enough for it. Pacing was a hit and a miss. There were some stuff that was really rushed while other sequences dragged on. Ultron creation and character development in particular was rushed like hell, something that would have benefited greatly from getting more screen time. Also, whole thing between Bruce and Natasha felt forced and out of place. Their scenes really dragged on. It would have been better if they went with Natasha and Steve instead as they had great chemistry in Winter Soldier. It just felt like the whole movie needed more time to be polished out, smooth out the rough edges.

While the story was a mess, the character set wasn't. The returning cast was great as usual, bringing their superhero A game. You could feel that they have been a team for a while now, having more chemistry with each other, cracking more jokes and poking more fun at each other etc. New additions, although a bit rushed, were pretty good. Vision, in particular, I felt was handled nicely. Scarlett Witch was hot (I love Elizabeth Olsen ) and Quicksilver always looked cool thanks to his power. Some great developments occurred character wise. Hawkeye finally had a notable presence, something that was dearly missing before. I just hated the fact that they:

Killed off Quicksilver. I mean WTF. They just introduced him in this movie, and then kill him off too. A really really stupid move in my opinion.

Ultron was amazing. James Spader voice really made the character shine. I loved how he had more of a personality then being just a evil bad guy. He had so many great lines, often humorous. I was not actually expecting it as the trailers were really misleading, but it was welcomed nonetheless. Ultron stole every scene he was in but it's a shame he didn't had that much screen time in the movie. Also, he was nerfed like hell. Would have been cool if he actual put on a proper beating to the avengers, shook em bad and all, would have really improved the atmosphere of the movie.

Speaking of atmosphere, this is yet another movie falling victim to its misleading trailers. The trailers made me believe it would be a more serious sequel, but it wasn't. Hell, it had more humor than the first part. Joss whedon signature humor was sprinkled throughout the movie. And I actually enjoyed most of it as they had great timing and execution. Marvel movies have this thing being lite and enjoyable and I'm all with it. Many of it were the little things between the team that just made you like them more. But there were moments where toning down the humor would have been seriously great. The presence of Ultron that I wanted never reached that level as one liners and other laughs kept blocking it. That fear or hopelessness never arrived, and it was really disappointing.

Action though, was AMAZING. And there was lots of it. Well shot, directed and choreographed. It was handled much better this time as compared to the previous part. And the awaited Hulk vs HulkBuster fight was a feast for the eyes. So much epicness, such carnage and pure destruction. The fanboy in me was crazy happy. CGI was top notch, they spared no expense.

Soundtrack was good, although nothing special. Main theme of Avengers, which I love, was back, but was underutilized.

It is a given that there is no way to replicate that special and unique feeling of first part of having your favourite superheroes in one movie and acting as team. I found the first Avengers to be better overall. Despite its flaws though, I still found this movie to be a great one. I immensely enjoyed this film, had a great time at the theater and already are getting craving for a second viewing. If nothing else, it is still pretty entertaining. An extended cut with and alternate ending has been announced and it will be released with the BluRay. I believe it could solve many of the issues I have with this film. Can't wait to get my hands on the BluRay. If you're a Marvel fan, have been following the MCU movies and like this Universe, there is no doubt you will like/love this movie. Go watch it.

Everything was fine in the avengers except the weak Villain. They did the same mistake with iron man 3. When the trailer for that movie came out they created this menacing image in our head for the mandarin but when the movie came out he sucked. Ultron was the same. Menacing in the trailer but made stupid jokes in the film. Also the win against him was really easy.

i didn't even like the action of the AOU... it was just the same old crap. When we are talking about comic book movies, us nerds need to see some strength feats. In the previous movie we had that hulk punch and his fight with thor, then we had hulk kicking loki's butt. There is nothing like that here and it is just boring and repetitive. I want to see the claims of their power, to their full potential... fighting against tiny robots is just boring. There was nothing in the fights that excited me. And not to mention the jokes(they were pretty appalling in the first one as well but i would let that go). The winter soldier was awesome due to the great tension that it had... it felt like everything was at stake and two street levelers like captain and the winter soldier made it the best action sequences that marvel ever had. The jokes killed all the tension there ever was. Even when

I didn't like the first Avengers either. Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier were far superior in my opinion.

Yeah but he was absent in the whole final battle. He came to the end so he doesn't count that much. Ultron could have put a bigger fight. There was no sense of tension in the whole final battle. It's a known fact that the good guys were supposed to win in the end but ultron is really powerful according to the comics so the movie felt incomplete in that aspect.

i became a marvel fanboy recently... this movie blew it away... and a recent rewatch of the tdk trilogy just showed me the amazingly wide difference there is in terms of absolute quality... there is just no doubt... i have no need to be credible really... i talk facts about quality and that alone... you make up your own opinion, no need to follow mine... avengers is not a good movie and reviews by other people should help to convince you of that too. Learn to accept a fact brah... avengers can be fun for many, but it is not a good quality movie(action is subjective but i didn't like that either). I can only be sorry about calling others morons, i get excited sometimes, so sorry for that.

3D wasn't good, I agree. Just felt tacked on for more money.
I personally don't like 3D anyway, there is just something about watching a movie in 3D that just doesn't fit right with me. I always have to re-watch it in 2D to get a proper experience. And it sucks cinemas here don't have options for 2D shows if a movie is in 3D.

Last battle in Part one definitely had a BETTER flow.
Here, it was bigger in scale but kinda felt unbalanced. And what I hated the most was:

Ultron being a complete nerfed up villain. I mean ULTRON in the comics or the animated series was a really formidable foe, easily putting the hurt on every Avenger, including the Hulk. They had to work real hard to beat him. But here, he hardly punished anyone, and they defeated him easily.
And hulk should have gotten a bigger role. He didn't had his own movie, so they could have atleast gave him more screentime and role in this movie.

Coherence (2013)

There is an element that is not talked about much when it comes to a movie. That is intrigue. We talk about thrill, we talk about adrenaline, we talk about emotions and laughter...but intrigue, that is very hard to emulate. Rare are the movies that absorb you so fully in their world that you are literally rushing for the next moment. You can't tear your eyes away from the screen, you have the volume up to 11 so that you don't even miss a single sound, even an echo, a gasp, a faraway scream, overlapping conversation, anything.


Coherence was one such movie from me. I was encapsulated with the premise and the way information revealed itself, whoa!! It reminded me of another movie, that took place entirely in one setting, but that did not hinder it from exploring earth shattering themes: The Man from Earth. Now, thematically both movies are very different, but they have that element common: intrigue.


I would recommend this movie anytime, to anyone. Just a conversation started. Such an interesting concept, explored beautifully.
