1 - Equilibrium - 2002

Love Christian Bale in this... Really great acting. Good story, everything was really interesting. Enjoyed it throughout, a bit of over-action, but acceptable. 7.5/10

2 - Re-incarnation - 2005 (AKA Renne, asian horror movie)

Was so-so. I don't know why all asian horrors are identical. Kinda slow, got bit boring in the end. 5/10

3 - Henry's Crime - 2010

Good acting, good story, was funny and served it's purpose of being entertaining. Liked it, 7/10.

REAL STEEL

Very nice film but the "ATOM" was shown too tough as compared to other robots although it was based on old TECH.

8/10

BTW there were Xbox 720 posters in one scene if anyone noticed :)

Texas Killing Fields 2011

When i saw the trailer of this film first i thought its gonna be really good movie , as Micheal Mann was serving as producer and the cast looked quite good talented as well , Micheal Mann daughter directed it , they say its loosely based on some true events , the story is dark , but poorly executed and written , danny boyle passed on this film i guess he should have directed it , cause the potential the movie had is poorly executed which makes the actors acting poor and story poor

6/10

The Help: I liked the performances but I found the movie to be a but overhyped than it is. Sure, the racial issue is heart stirring and is portrayed brilliantly, but I guess I found it too hard hitting. I was a bit skeptic throughout the movie as if the white guys were intentionally being showed overly bad and cartoonishly villainous. Anywho, not taking anything away from the movie, it was enjoyable with colorful characters and a performance from Viola Davis that is just about perfect. I dunno why Jessica Chastain is getting so much praise for this performance, as she is clearly much better in The Tree of Life. Good movie overall. A bit propagandist. 7.5/10

Whatever Works:
A Woody Allen film that would have worked if it had been released before Annie Hall and Manhattan. The lead character is very similar to the old Wood Allen lead characters. Larry David is basically channeling Woody Allen. The movie has some brilliant moments and Rachel Evan Wood and Patricia Clarkson are out of the world amazing, but the movie is half baked and nothing fresh. The movie lumbers in the middle and is almost unbearable boring but then Patricia Clarkson lifts things up. Anywho, not Allen's best or most original work. 6.5/10

Contagion:
Now that's a thriller I wanted to watch. No visible bad guy but panic everywhere. A who's who of Hollywood packed in a 100 minutes movie. Steven Soderbergh, who is so used to working with ensembles, works great with this one also. The movie is fast paced, pulsating with energy, fear, tension and is brimming with kinetism. I loved each and every bit of it. It made me think too. What would I do in case of a global epidemic. The fiding of the cure was a bit "Hollywood"-y and too easy, I guess but the whole movie didn't bog from its weight. The performances were too many to consider one great over the other. All in all, a taut and nicely executed modern day horror tale. Must watch. 8/10

DRIVE (2011)

A while back, i was reading comments of some people here about this movie, who apparently didn't like it much and gave it ridiculous ratings, or ratings which are not sufficient.
Then i noticed these are the people who never liked Gosling's movie "Blue Valentine" either. I feel sad for these chaps. Dont know when they'll grow up, to be able to feel the intensity of movie & portrayal of Characters by Actors

This movie was nothing as i expected it to be. It turned out to be MUCH more than that. A Shady Thriller, A Love Story of different kind, Action, Bullitt 2011 ... thats what this is all about.

Ryan Gosling - I think i am not wrong if i say this, but he really was at his best in this role. Romantic, Brutal, Cute ... name it whatever you want. His movie Crazy Stupid Love which i had watched already ... had left a different picture. Due to which i was totally not expecting this type of Role from him.

In 2011, A Thriller (Drive), A Comedy Love Story (Crazy Stupid Love), A Political (Ides of March) ... i watched him in different roles, from a different perspective. All characters he portrayed had variations, hence staggering performance.

Carey Mulligan - I remember her appearance from the movie Never Let Me Go very vividly, and it still had its effect on me. Beautiful, Pretty or Cute are just small words for this girl. She is dangerously beautiful, especially when appears in roles like this ... Silent Type, Discreet Roles. Have loved her in every role i have seen her in.

In Drive, her character doesn't have a direct relationship with Gosling, which made me tick a little. But One Kiss made me forget that :p
Spoiler: show
(Yep, that Elevator Scene - Intensely Passionate)

May i just say the Director has done a Fantastic Job with this movie. For me, this would be one of The Best movies of 2011. And Gosling as One of my All Time Favorite Actors.

Ending of movie was kinda fucked up. Hated it ... Because it didn't end the way i wanted it to be :p

I wont rate this movie anything less than a 10. But being reasonable, i would give it a solid 9/10.

^^ +rep !! I too was shocked to see the reviews in this thread when I searched for the term 'Drive' after being done with the movie and because of that I didn't even bother to write the impressions it left on me. In addition, I've developed a man crush on Ryan after watching this movie. :ninja:

Drive was awesome, and even better was the amazing soundtrack. After I watched this movie, I really wanted to go out and take drive at night with "Nightcall" playing...unfortunately, I don't have a license. Oh, and I really want that jacket.

^hmm...after a long w8 and thought, i m downloading this movie now :p

I hope it turns atleast 8/10 from my side...:)
I have seen your taste in movies. I am sure you'll love it.

The only thing you need while watching this movie is ... patience. Because first 20 minutes (approx) are very VERY slow paced. Things wont be understandable, hence not enjoyable. But as the movie will progress, your enthusiasm will start to build up. By the end ... Your head will be completely blown away.

And please download a 720p BDRip (preferably a x264 instead of AC3) and use the Splash Player Pro. Use its features like iMotion, Detail Boost & Light Boost.
Turn the Volume HIGH and make sure no one disturbs you while watching it (sm1)

Drive was awesome, and even better was the amazing soundtrack.
I missed that part intentionally. The soundtracks were actually so darn good that it makes your heart bleed. :D I however, was afraid i might get addicted to the Sad Nature of these soundtracks hence did not bother listening to them again. I know myself and i know it'll get addicted to those. (depends on the mood though)

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
