In Pakistan, even the cinemas doesn't show a lot of good Hollywood movies, usually just blockbuster flicks (some exceptions in the fall season). But it is understandable: you have to cater to a larger viewership.
Too few screens here. I hope as our cinema industry grows, we get more screens. Will help the industry as well as chances of more Hollywood movies.

Most important thing though is new censorship rules. We need a proper rating system.

well in lahore i would say there are ENOUGH cinemas now. the main thing is importers, they need to bring out more out of the box movies instead of the usual what they think would earn them more cash blockbusters etc

Yeah, Lahore and Karachi has enough screens I think. Many other big cities need screens though. An IMAX in pindi/islamabad area would be awesome. And it's a really long stretch but any cinema opening in my city would be heaven. :p

Better importers and proper Rating system, will be a huge improvement here.

nope karachi lacks screen , we only have three standard one atrium , nueplex and cinepax
Lahore is the biggest market in terms of screen , infact Pindi/Islamabad have more screens than karachi.
It might take another 20 years before a cinema opens in your city

manigamer Spartan_117 yeah, both good points. We have only screen in big cities (again totally understandable) and they need to draw in large crowds to make them profitable. Censorship is always going to be an issue in a country like Pakistan, where they make rules on the fly. We are living day-in, day-out, do the people in charge of our country look like they have plans? :p

Huh, didn't know that. I thought there were more cinemas there.

And yeah, that's the sad part. Will take a long time. :(

True, the decision making here is totally bonkers. Don't know when we'll see proper rules and regulations that stay on for a while. :p

Shifted the cinema talk posts to the Cinema thread as I just realized we were discussing too much cinema stuff in the movies section. :p

nah ... the license for IMAX in Pakistan is for three IMAX screens, they only have managed to put in one screen till now, by contract they were supposed to put up two more screens within a certain time frame (not sure about the time frame) one in Karachi and one in Islamabad

IMAX Laser is a whole new ball game, color depth and clarity in 3D was astounding (this is coming from a guy who works in digital projectors and media for living) :p

Oh one more thing about IMAX and pricing, See unlike most of you think, the more cinemas opening is always good for everyone, why? well the distributor imports the print at x amount of money which is than given to different exhibitors (cinema) to show, the more exhibitors we have the faster ROI and cost of the movie to exhibitor becomes less as its distributed, now when it comes to IMAX the problem is that print itself is more expensive than a typical DCP (Digital Cinema Package, encrypted hard drive which comes with a hardware locked key to each projector) secondly since there is only one IMAX screen right now so all the return on investment has to be done by that screen only, from business point of view that means exhibitor will be forced to increase the ticket price for quicker return on investment (purchasing of movie) or run the movie for a longer time, this is one of the prime reason why ticket prices are higher on IMAX. That is not the ONLY factor behind cinema pricing structure but yeah it does play an important role, how cinema is run is an art and is truly fascinating :)

baqai internatinally all imax screens are expensive than regular screens, plus imax here is charging just 200rs more than the average ticket price of 500rs

yup globally IMAX are more expensive the reason is same, releases on IMAX are way less in comparison to normal movies so in order to cover costs they have to increase the ticket price or give more slots to the movie, i was just trying to give our readers a peak on the other side of things from working point of view :)

Multiple factors, i can find out if you want, i find it strange that they are letting you guys take the glasses as they are normally synced, each eye is synced with one individual projector.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.

It is indeed the worst generation by far.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.
