[h=1]PUBG maker drops suit against Epic Games over Fortnite[/h]

[h=2]Copyright lawsuit quietly comes to a close[/h]

UBG Corp., the developer of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has withdrawn its lawsuit against Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, according to a report from Bloomberg. PUBG Corp. sued Epic earlier this year in Korea over concerns that Fortnite Battle Royale infringedPUBG’s intellectual property.
It’s not clear why PUBG Corp. ended legal proceedings or if a settlement between the two game makers had been reached, based on Bloomberg’s report.
PUBG Corp. went after Epic in May, calling the lawsuit “a measure to protect our copyrights.” In 2017, the studio behind PUBG expressed concern “that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known” and hinted at taking legal action.
Epic Games was originally upfront about Fortnite Battle Royale’s inspiration. “Yeah, we made a PvP mode for Fortnite,” Epic said when the mode was announced last September. “We love Battle Royale games like PUBG and thought Fortnite would make a great foundation for our own version.”
Both Epic Games and PUBG Corp. are partly owned by Chinese firm Tencent. Both Fortniteand PUBG also use Epic Games’ Unreal Engine.

[h=1]PUBG for Xbox One update adds new gun and new car, changes weapon balance[/h]

[h=2]The SLR and Mirado are finally making their way to console[/h]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has just received its latest update for the Xbox One version of the game, which brings changes that Windows PC players have been enjoying for months to console. The patch is roughly equivalent to Update 12, which was released for PC back in April and re-balanced the game’s weapons.
This is far and away the biggest patch that the console version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has ever received. With smaller changes like recoil pattern adjustments, new types of scopes, new explosion patterns for grenades and adjustable red dot reticles, there are a ton of small changes in this patch. While some of these changes are small and won’t take much getting used to, there are a few tweaks to the game that are worth getting into specifics on.
[h=3]WEAPON BALANCE IS CHANGING COMPLETELY[/h]Just like in the PC version of the update, console update 17 is bringing with it significantly weaker assault rifles and significantly stronger sub-machine guns. This should help upset the weapon balance on consoles quite a bit, making SMGs and designated marksmen rifles more worthwhile, and making you think twice before dropping them for an assault rifle. Speaking of DMRs, the rifles will now be able to accept attachments either from the AR category or the sniper rifle category, making the guns much easier to find attachments for.
[h=3]THERE’S A NEW GUN AND A NEW CAR[/h]The PUBG Xbox Team is also adding a brand new DMR to the game in the form of the new self-loading rifle. The SLR is a little bit like a more powerful version of the SKS and even uses the same 7.62 ammo type. Also new to the game with this patch is the Mirado, a muscle car that only spawns on Miramar. It’s the fastest car in the game, but be careful, it’s not exactly the most stable vehicle to drive through the desert.
[h=3]NEW ATTACHMENTS AND FEWER LEVEL-THREE HELMETS[/h]The final major changes in this patch come to the item spawns on the map. First of all, thePUBG Xbox Team is adding in all the grips that have made their way to PC, like the light grip, the thumb grip and the half grip. All of these help guns behave differently, and for the most part, which one you use will depend mostly on your preference. More important is the fate ofPUBG’s iconic level-three helmet, which has been taken out of the world and relegated to a care package-only spawn. Thankfully, the helmet will be guaranteed in every care package that drops, so while they might be less common they won’t be gone completely.
While this patch’s changes may seem daunting at first, these tweaks have almost all been great additions to the PC version of the game. From more meaningful weapon selection to letting players race through the desert in a muscle car, this update should be a huge and welcome shake up to PUBG on Xbox.
For a full look at the PUBG for Xbox One update 17 you can check out the official patch notes on the PUBG Xbox Team forum.

[h=1]PUBG for Xbox One leaves early access on Sept. 4[/h]
[h=2]And Xbox players will get their first look at Sanhok to celebrate[/h]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One is finally exiting early access, developer PUBG Corp. announced during the Gamescom episode of Inside Xbox. The game will enter its full release on Sept. 4.

The game’s official release will also come with the addition of a few new features, previously only available to PUBG players on PC. The first of these is the addition of Sanhok to the Xbox One version of the game. While it’s unclear if the 1.0 update of PUBG on Xbox will fully release the map, or simply allow players to test it, this will be the first time Sanhok is available to Xbox players.
Also coming to PUBG on Xbox One with its full release is the popular War Mode, a favorite for players on PC. The mode combines the classic battle royale of PUBG with traditional team deathmatch mechanics, like respawning. This makes for a faster experience that still maintains the looting and survival aspects players have come to expect from PUBG.
Finally, the full release of PUBG on Xbox One will also include a purchasable in-game currency that can be used to unlock cosmetics. While details are still sparse on what these cosmetics will be, PUBG Corp. did announce that the Event Pass: Sanhok, which includes several cosmetics to celebrate the debut of the new map, will be coming to Xbox One.
While entering its 1.0 phase will mean that PUBG has been officially released on Xbox One, it doesn’t mean that the game is finished receiving updates on consoles. In fact, the developers promised to “continue to enhance the game and deliver new content to Xbox players.”

[h=1]PUBG’s newest patch adds new ranked system to the game[/h]

[h=2]The patch also brings back map select[/h]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has a new patch, Update 22, on its test servers today and it’s bringing in a ranked system.
Unlike most battle royale games, which more or less just throw players into a lobby together,Battlegrounds makes a point of adding a bit of skill-based matchmaking into their system. Once again taking things a little further than its competition, PUBG players will have a way to keep track of their progress and skill with the new ranked system — something largely nonexistent in other battle royale games.

Ranks for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds PUBG Corp.The system will use something called Rank Points, which will be distributed after each match based on a player’s performance. Then they’ll be sorted into one of eight ranks, and can lose or gain points and ranks throughout the course of a season. While there hasn’t been any official announcement, you can bet that rewards based on player rank are pretty likely at the end of each season.
Ranks are the standout feature of the new patch but they aren’t the only thing it’s bringing toPUBG. This patch also includes a new radial menu for selecting grenades and healing items — something that used to be a pain for most players.

New grenade menu PUBG Corp.Also coming back to PUBG thanks to this patch is map selection. Instead of simply choosing the size of the map you’d like to play, players can once again select specific maps from the matchmaking menu.
PUBG’s patch 1.0 Update 22 is currently up on the game’s test server, and will be pushed to live servers as soon as the developers at PUBG Corp. feel that the update is stable, which should be sometime early next week.

[h=1]The Joker and Harley Quinn are coming to PUBG[/h]

[h=2]So we’re some kinda suicide squad?[/h]

The Joker and Harley Quinn from 2016’s Suicide Squad are coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, developer PUBG Corp. announced today. The two DC villains will make a guest appearance in PUBG as a pair of skins “soon.”
Beyond the announcement trailer, PUBG Corp. didn’t offer much in the way of details about when and how Joker and Harley would appear or how their inclusion will impact the game. The developer simply confirmed a fairly obvious teaser from last week that hinted at a prison break. However, it does look like Harley Quinn’s bat might become a new melee weapon forPUBG.
The announcement appears to also confirm that DC has hitched its wagon to PUBG, afterMarvel found its home in Fortnite earlier this year with the (considerably higher-effort) appearance of Thanos. That Avengers: Infinity War tie-in featured came with its own limited-time game mode. We’ll see if PUBG has something similar planned soon.

[h=1]PUBG is Coming to PS4 in December But It's Too Late[/h]
The wait is nearly over as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is finally coming to the PlayStation 4, but it looks like a case of too little, too late. That is, if you're looking for a great battle royale game on consoles. The world of battle royale games is already seemingly full to the brim and players have been left hanging on when it comes to a PUBG and Sony union thanks to an exclusivity deal with Microsoft to keep the game solely on Xbox One for one year.
While a leak of PS4 PUBG was recently teased, it's all but official now. The timing for a PS4 version of PUBG comes exactly a year after the mega popular PC game found its home on Xbox One via the Xbox Game Preview program. That being said, the game's later "full" Xbox One release in September 2018 continues to plagued by performance issues, bugs, and aggressive monetization tactics and players have been airing their grievances.

It began when one
PSNProfiles member spotted a series of images that spoil the arrival of PUBG on PS4 and this week analyst Daniel Ahmad took to the ResetEraforums to confirm what we've all been hearing. Unfortunately, PUBG's late entry could end up costing its potential on the PlayStation platform. PlayStation 4 is in the midst of a battle royale bonanza thanks to the supersized Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and the franchise's break from tradition by taking on the trend of battle royale gaming in lieu of a single player campaign. Elsewhere, the free-to-play H1Z1 has been killing it on the PS4 as well and that's before even mentioning the juggernaut that is Fortnite.

The battle between PUBG and Fortnite has raged since long before PUBG Corp's copyright claim against Epic Games, but it looks increasingly likely that Fortnite will keep the battle royale crown. 2018 got off to a bad start for PUBG when the PC version dropped up to 50% of its players while Fortnite continued to grow. That being said, PUBG Corplooks set to continue squeezing every penny it can out of the franchise while it still remains the most popular Steam game even while dropping player counts monthly.
Although PUBG has become one of the best-selling games of all time, it hasn't stopped users who want it to be great pointing out a growing number of problems, especially when it comes to how it nickels and dimes the community while offering an unoptimized and inconsistent experience. August this year saw the introduction of the embarrassing self-titled "Fix PUBG" campaign as PUBG Corp finally attempts to address issues of graphics, framerate, and dodgy loot drops. In a case of running before it can walk, PUBG is in danger of spreading itself too thinly across PC, Xbox One, and PS4. But hey, they're selling the game, event passes, cosmetics, and loot boxes (that are locked with keys). It's all around awful from a progression standpoint when they're delivering (and have been for over a year) a problematic game experience.

Despite all the criticisms, there are sure to be some PS4 owners who are glad that they can finally play PUBG with their DualShock 4 controllers. It has been a massive year for Sony's next-gen console with exclusives like God of War and Spider-Man, meaning that even at this late stage of its life cycle, the PS4 is still shifting an impressive number of units and has now outsold the PS3. PUBG could help with holiday sales, while Xbox tries to tease something of their own coming to players for the game:

It will be a struggle for PUBG to shed its loot box and microtransaction controversy, meaning critics will likely see the PS4 release as just another quick moneymaking scheme without improving the core of the game. And for that reason, it's too late to expect a great PS4 game from PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds that rewards players for their money and time investment.

Too little too late ?

Unless they do some heavy reworking on the engine and add a 60 FPS mode like Fortnite.

[h=1]PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds coming to PS4 in December[/h]

[h=2]PUBG heads to PlayStation 4 almost a year after it first hit Xbox One[/h]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the wildly popular battle royale game, is coming to PlayStation 4 on Dec. 7, PUBG Corp. announced today.
PUBG has been available on Windows PC and Xbox One since 2017. While there may be slight differences between the versions of the game, one of the primary goals at PUBG Corp. this year has been to unify the game across platforms, studio head Brian Corrigan told Polygon in an interview.
“The core of the game has been compiling on PS4 since the beginning of the year and we put a small team on making sure we kept up the PS4 build on the latest [version of] the other console build,” said Corrigan. “So as the company has grown and we got some traction on Xbox it was time to move to the PS4 ... Once we got Xbox to a place we were happy with, we figured we could focus on a PS4 release too.”
The PS4 version of PUBG will retail for $29.99, just like the PC and Xbox One versions, and is available for preorder — which will get you a special set of PS4 exclusives outfits — starting today.

[h=1]PUBG PS4 will come with platform exclusive cosmetics[/h][h=2][/h]
[h=2]You’ll finally be able to win a chicken dinner dressed as Nathan Drake[/h]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is headed to PS4, developer Bluehole announced earlier today. But the game won’t be headed to the new platform alone, it will also be bringing with it a few exclusive PlayStation themed cosmetics.
The cosmetics for PUBG’s PS4 release include a variety of skins, including a set based on Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series, as well as Ellie’s backpack fromThe Last of Us,which will be available for anyone who preorders the game, as well as a special avatar and Miramar console theme for anyone who preorders the digital version. The game will also come with a day-one bonus of a PlayStation themed parachute.
While these cosmetic rewards are exclusive to the game’s launch, it is possible that other console exclusive items will be headed to the game in the near future. PUBG on PlayStation 4 will go up for preorder on Nov. 13 with the game’s full release schedule for Dec. 7.

My biggest concern with the PS4 version is performance, which will probably fall close to that of the Xbox One versions. Hoping the PS4 Pro delivers a stable frame rate at 1080p with SS disabled.
