murtaza12 ptcl is laying fiber cable in the city and will reach to my area soon does it mean I can apply for gpon services? Or is it again fiber to dsl thing which is already available in half of the city? They wanted to provide it in my area but postponed it and now they are again working on it.

I am using Wateen HFC 10 Mbps previously used to have PTCL Mbps both have there respective pros and cons. With Wateen you know when the connection will relatively deteriorate i.e the in evenings with PTCL you never know when any issue arises and this exchange customer service is nearly nil every time you will have to visit the exchange to short out the issue no point in complaining on phone.

With wateen you get slightly better pings overall which again increases during the evenings there customer service is much better and professional hence pretty robotic which is frustrating as well but you can explain the issue via email and that usually reached the proper technical department .

I was having an issue of getting around 1-2Mbps single thread speed and getting full around 9.5 Mbps on multiple threading complained a lot again their robotic customer service couldn't process/understand , finally got ptcl for a month and complained last time with forwarding the email exchanges to their CEO and PTA the very day people were at my house doing trace routes and comparing with ptcl they would come every day and finally in about 3 days they made a special setting for my connection only ( their MTU size was low and few other problems) which made it an excellent connection and after a few weeks now they have made the setting universal which has made the connection better for everyone but ironically due to that peak time deteriorations are back.

I have gotten a response that they are working on the peak time problem, anyways if your node has fewer connections you wont have this problem. With PTCL 8 Mbps you will get around 7Mbps down speed and just under 1Mbps Upload speed on local servers of speedtest.net and Wateen 10 Mbps you get around 9.5 Mbps down speed and around 2.4 Mbps Upload speed on local speedtest.net servers. On international the speeds in evenings/peak times, speeds can get similar with wateen slightly higher but on Off peak/rest of the day wateen is clearly superior. With ptcl pings are usually stable, on wateen pings increase in evenings while being lower and mostly consistent the rest of the day. Torrents work at maximum possible speed on both of them all the time provided you have enough seeders (1-1.1MB/s on wateen and around 800-850KB/s on PTCL).

But i would recommend you look into Optix net if they are in your area they provide FTTH and recently have reduced their costs so is a very good option like i mean in around 2699 rupees a 20Mbps symmetrical connection or 2999 with 20Mbps and digital TV so definitely look into that otherwise i suppose get wateen if not that then PTCL. I have heard there is a company providing cheap 20Mbps connection in region of phase 4-5 but am not too sure.

Doubtful that it's GPON, they're focusing on big cities first and then moving to smaller areas.

Probably what's happened is, an area somewhere has recently been upgraded to GPON, so they take the fiber cabinets for DSL from those areas and install them in places where previously copper only lines were available.

Thanks a lot bro. Optix is not available :(
Sticking to PTCL for now. I went to the dha exchange and they said GPON is coming soon here.
Will try to move 8 Mbps to 12 Mbps I hope the current PTCL structure supports it.

Nayatel is really slow when downloading. Speeds don't go above 50 Kb/s on my end. Anybody have the same issue?

If one is looking to purchase bandwidth from a nayatel user then where would one post such a demand?

Which service has consistently low pings to SEA? Storm Fiber, while great, has pings all over the place.

Guys with 20mb/s FTTH connections.

Hey pakgamers.

My first post here :) . i have a question regarding 20mb/s users out there . I will soon be getting Optix - 20mb/s connection. How many YouTube streams u can approx use simultaneously , that will have no effect on pings during online play ? cuz i need to be certain that this speed will be adequate , as my family streams youtube alot . Thanks

3 and 4 simultaneous 720p youtube streams work fine on an 8mb and a 7 mb connection.

Assalam o Aleikum everyone,

I am currently using PTCL Broadband 4Mbps unlimited and everyone knows it's good when it works otherwise its crap.
Recently I got news of Optix and they are providing their services in Askari 11 Lahore (where I live). I want to know if people living near Askari 11 have an Optix connection, how is their service? reliability? quality of service? anything you can tell me.

thank you

If you have the option don't even think about it. Just go and get it. I know people who have Optix in Phase 5 and it works great for them, much better and faster than PTCL, and cheaper too. You're one of the lucky few whose area is covered.

For the past week, everyday on my way back from school, I've been seeing a Nayatel van in Bahria. No, not in Safari, deep inside Bahria. It's been roaming around Phase 1, 2 and 3. No digging yet as far as I know, but the vans are always there at around 3 PM.

Hopefully this means the CCP thing was successful because why else would they be here?

Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
