I am using Wateen HFC 10 Mbps previously used to have PTCL Mbps both have there respective pros and cons. With Wateen you know when the connection will relatively deteriorate i.e the in evenings with PTCL you never know when any issue arises and this exchange customer service is nearly nil every time you will have to visit the exchange to short out the issue no point in complaining on phone.
With wateen you get slightly better pings overall which again increases during the evenings there customer service is much better and professional hence pretty robotic which is frustrating as well but you can explain the issue via email and that usually reached the proper technical department .
I was having an issue of getting around 1-2Mbps single thread speed and getting full around 9.5 Mbps on multiple threading complained a lot again their robotic customer service couldn't process/understand , finally got ptcl for a month and complained last time with forwarding the email exchanges to their CEO and PTA the very day people were at my house doing trace routes and comparing with ptcl they would come every day and finally in about 3 days they made a special setting for my connection only ( their MTU size was low and few other problems) which made it an excellent connection and after a few weeks now they have made the setting universal which has made the connection better for everyone but ironically due to that peak time deteriorations are back.
I have gotten a response that they are working on the peak time problem, anyways if your node has fewer connections you wont have this problem. With PTCL 8 Mbps you will get around 7Mbps down speed and just under 1Mbps Upload speed on local servers of speedtest.net and Wateen 10 Mbps you get around 9.5 Mbps down speed and around 2.4 Mbps Upload speed on local speedtest.net servers. On international the speeds in evenings/peak times, speeds can get similar with wateen slightly higher but on Off peak/rest of the day wateen is clearly superior. With ptcl pings are usually stable, on wateen pings increase in evenings while being lower and mostly consistent the rest of the day. Torrents work at maximum possible speed on both of them all the time provided you have enough seeders (1-1.1MB/s on wateen and around 800-850KB/s on PTCL).
But i would recommend you look into Optix net if they are in your area they provide FTTH and recently have reduced their costs so is a very good option like i mean in around 2699 rupees a 20Mbps symmetrical connection or 2999 with 20Mbps and digital TV so definitely look into that otherwise i suppose get wateen if not that then PTCL. I have heard there is a company providing cheap 20Mbps connection in region of phase 4-5 but am not too sure.
