Okay so here we go...
Thats the most funniest that ive ever heared that an army would have only 1 air ambulance..so tell me what our army does when they get hundreds of injured soldiers...
do they use just 1 air ambulance or they use road area on the mountains ?
and spare parts of cobra isnt a problem..they are still easy to import from Bell Industries U.S.
about our machine guns so we have MG3s which has a high fire rate and less recoil..
they are not old they are made new at POF...We HAve Minimees which are listed in Modern Weapons..Although who needs MGs now a days where we fight wars in urban areas or close quarter battle u can say..
We have good assault rifles newly made variants of Aks with Acogs and foregrips...we got m4s and m16s..FN2000s.....we got augs..what do u want else???

My whole family is in army and i know army alot better , my brother is currently posted on Afghanistan border and he is my source so you can't raise any questions about that , we have only 1 mi17 air ambulance and about guns we still use G3 which is quite effective when it comes to long range and as i said earlier only SSG has weapons like M4 and m16 ,
I understand your love against our ARMED Forces but still a coin always has 2 sides.

Numbers don't win you wars my friend. I personally find the Pakistan Army to be a toothless institution. They leave fighting and peace-keeping jobs to the, more effective, Paramilitary forces, Rangers and other proxy units.

Every time the situation demanded for them to engage in acts of war, they've failed quite miserably ('65, '71, '98/99).

But credit where it's due. The Army is quite good at making (and maintaining) Askaris, Cantonments, Dairy farms, Educational institutes, CSD's and Hospitals. :laugh1:

Before you guys exaggerate the heroics for our ARMY please consider that our army is not upto the mark with latest technology, please don't brag ssg in this because it's special ops.
We are in short of helicopters , in the whole PAK Army there is only 1 air ambulance, the spare parts of COBRA (HELI) is difficult to get now a days , our machines guns are old ,most of the times they refuse to fire. The standard rifle of PA is G3 , but they are being replaced by chinese SMG and the list keeps on going.

and i don't get it why people compare PA with other militaries , our enemy is and will be India always and btw they are ahead of us this time too

American vehicles will always lack spare parts/ ammo / support because its in their blood to set it that way.....

Bro you just forgot to compare the number of donkey carts they both have.
When talking about comparison it is done in terms of resources spent on per soldier in terms of tactical, weaponry and strategic trainings. Do the math, and you will see the difference. Still want to do an in-depth study then check the weaponry, vehicle models, aircraft technology and their ability to sustain a war.

As much as I want PK to be 1 of the top 5...

You need to realize that numbers means absolutely nothing in conventional warfare vs a 1st world foreign nation.

HOWEVER> if one was to do a ARMY STREGNTH PER GDP Ratio i bet you we would be in the top 10 easily...
(Sadly thats both bad and good lol... it means were the strongest of the poor... but also that were spending too much of GDP on defense at the sametime... so good mixed with bad)

The Sad truth is:
The greatest pilot in the world in an F16 with older tech will lose to an average pilot in an F22. :/ and so on and so on...
Our tech is mostly several years old (which in a conventional war would might as well mean 25 years)... we may be developing new things in "joint" ventures with the chinese... but 4 prototype fighters wont mean shiit again a fleet of 100 of the very latest... but the truth is we are just a convenient buffer for China.. They will never share their most covert tech with us nor anyone for that matter.
And what we develop with them is just publicity and posturing.

South Korea truly is in the top 10... funny enough... and people dont realize it..
Its because they are under nonstop constant fear of threat from N. Korea and China both...
The insane amount of foreign aid given to them by USA and tons and tons of the very latest tech is heavily subsidized and sold to them by US at a fraction of the cost... because of the geopolitics involved...
The US can not risk for even a second for S.Korea to fall into chinese influence or N. korean influence.
Hyundai, Samsung, LG, etc etc

Wishing for PK to be great doesnt make us great...

The defence budget is mostly secret. Getting the army to reveal where it spends its money would be a huge step. Cutting the defence budget is unthinkable. Our politicians are always afraid of a coup by the army. We need someone like Tayyip Erdogan to cut the army down to size.

And even if we manage to find the funds where will it go? As you said the money we currently spend goes to waste so throwing more money at the problem will not help.
