I dled a 14 gig Bluray of Avator and its a treat to the eyes! The reason why a dvd rip looks worse on it than on a 17 inch laptop screen, i think, is that 700 mb just cant pack enough pixels to be shown decently on a 20 inch screen..hence stretches the pixels..??
Thanks for the advice ( i never noticed the difference ) but in this case i did mean hardware upgrade..i need a better graphic card.. The drivers already are up to date.
And wouldnt i be restriced to Graphic cards with a certain architecture if i have a DDR2 supporting mother board ( As with rams). Or are all GPUs backwards and forward compatible?.. where do they go, PCI?
Actually DVDRips aren't that bad. I myself have tried them on Full HD quality, of course its not as good as Blu Ray rip's or Blu Ray itself, but its not that bad either (I think it varies from movie to movie).
According to the graphic card thing, you can even put the latest one on your DDR2 motherboard seeing that your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot (Yes, they all are forward and backward compatible). But the thing is that a lot of other factors are also to be considered :
- If your power supply is powerful enough to drive it
- If your processor is again powerful enough without getting into any bottlenecking
- And seeing if your motherboard supports PCIe 1.0 or 2.0 (this usually is important upon seeing what GPU you install. Some need that higher bandwidth, whereas most low-end graphic card's don't).
All I need for you to tell me is that how much budget do you have and that you wanna spend on your Graphic Card. And secondly list your PC spec's so I can see what you got under the hood.
