[HELP] Not Satisfied with HP 2011x 20" LED

Hi,

I bought the HP 2011x led and im a bit worried if i have been jacked. The brightness contrast and sharpness is pretty good but the quality of picture is..well pathetic. Playing the same video on my IBM Z61m laptop and the HP 2011x, the led is unbelievably below par with unnecessarily pixelated images..and dark areas are a shame. Is that how led's are supposed to be :S

Also, the adaptor unit for the screen is a no-brad chinese-all-over-it adaptor. Is that how it is?

Anybody has that particular screen??

Well you are actually right, you have been jacked. This HP 2011x LED I have seen been sold in local computer shop's and it really doesn't have well an eye-catching image quality. Personally, you should have seen its reviews and checked it in the shop first before buying it.

@ Ali - i did my fair share of research and these two Hp2011x & HP x20led had the best reviews... amazon. cnet. buzzilion and what not..even on PG forums. What i'm suspecting is that ive been sold a used/faulty piece?

@ Sohaib - Here are the pictures.. the retarded one is the led..Now i realised later that it was a 35 KB image stretched to a 1600 x 900 pixels ..but still the same for both, so shouldnt the led 'manage' to display it better than the ibm laptop.. Or maybe the screen size being 20" caused the dark areas to get screwed..

Someone who owns one would be of great help, before it's too late.

35KB image stretched to 1600x900? For starters chose a better test picture or video.

I'm now going to try running a 10 GB BR video ..

I'm sure that you've diagnosed it properly. So why don't you take it back where you got it from and claim some warranty?

Well reading a quick review of your laptop online shows that it has a very high contrast screen. Your LED monitor on the other hand is just plain garbage. So yeah, comparing it with your laptop will probably not be in the favor of the monitor.

Well firstly, mention where you bought this LCD from?

and secondly did they give you a receipt specifying a proper warranty duration?

After seeing your above image, this usually displays like that when the graphic driver isn't installed and if you're trying to view a high resolution image. Did you connect it to your laptop (the LED screen?)

well this will happen when you will buy cheap ass monitors... buy something of quality dude... buy leds/lcds which are below 20k and what do you expect?? these are cheap TN panels and you are buying the cheapest of them... there is not gonna be much quality there brah... having an led/lcd for the sake of next gen. equipment is hardly worth it if you buy the cheapest of the cheap stuff

There's something known as having a limited budget and getting the best in that. That's just what he did, use your head man. Anyone would know that 20K LCD's would better than 10K ones.

Agree with AliMan, i have a 19 viewsonic led with my official system and that isnt bad, infact really crisp and much brighter then my del 2310 lcd. cheap dosnt mean that its quality will be pathetic.

Now comin to the problem, first remove that plastic sheet .. go to led menus and select default contrast/brightness, i think you have set them too high secondly download some high ress colorfull wallpaper. do let us know are you connecting led with your laptop? else just take it back and claim warranty if you bought brandnew.
Yar chargers aise hi hote hain, dont worry its original, bought hp printer .. us ka bhi charger more or less same hai.

Yeah the receipt says 1 yr and the warranty card is attached to the box.

Well actually plugging the laptop display to the led made quite alot of difference. Could it be the graphic card too weak on my PC or just its drivers?. Its the on-board intel g31/33 ...on DG31PR.
And would using a DVI cable make any difference at all?

^^Yes DVI cable makes difference OK.....try on it
