As you all are aware, companies like sony, htc, ericsson do not provide warranties for phones in pakistan. Tommorow I will Inshallah buy my first smartphone which will be the xperia Sola. So I wanted to ask which shops are most reliable in saddar and what should test in the phone to see whether it is working fine.

Im a complete noob at these things and I'm worried that if I wind up with a device which has some hardware manafacturing fault or something which I discover after buying, my 20K will got to waste.

P.S my friend who recently bought xperia u recommended bawany mobile. PLZ Plz give me some tips as I dont have much time.

You can get it online from HSN. They gave 7 days replacement warranty and 1 year warranty for parts service and other shit. Just ordered Xperia U from them, no malfunction or nothing. If you've seen yousaf465's thread, there are IMEI matching boxes being manufactured in Karachi, so if you buy it from Saddar the phone might look brand new but it'll be refurbished.

Bawany Electronics is definitely a reliable shop. One of their guys, forgettin the name .. but recognizable as he seems as a very decent bloke

I bought an HD2 from him with checking warranty. The vibration did not work. He took it back without deducting anything whatsoever.

murtaza12! Any specific reason to BOAST about HSN like that? They are not angels. They are also running a Business and they WILL be doing the same thing.

The thread you were referring to, just increases the Awareness Level of that thing (IMEI Matching Boxes) for people who dont know. That does NOT mean its a bad thing. But dont exclude the fact that shopkeepers Abuse this too. Also, that does NOT mean EVERY handset available box packed in open market will be Refurbished.

-----------

saad07! Whenever you go to local market, Memorize one rule. NEVER EVER go to a Single Shop and purchase your required product.

If you need assurance, you should be surveying the Whole Market, ALL the shops there. Takes barely an hour or so.

Ask rates from every shop you enter. If you think that a specific shopkeeper is offering you a good rate, take his Visiting Card and LEAVE the shop for next. (You can come back to him later if you like. Thats exactly why you should take Visiting Card)

Anyway, these are just General guidelines for people to buy things in a Open Market. I hope you find them useful.

I have also bought an Xperia Sola a couple of days ago for a friend of mine. Its latest model so there are very remote chances of a set being refurbished, so dont worry about that :)

Baaqi ALLAH pe bharosa rakho yaar. Kuch nai ho ga.

Newer sets such as xperia 2012 series, does not come in refurb. Its either be brand new OR repacked but not REFURB.

As for HSN, paying more just for replacement warranty doesnt worth it. PLUS if your set is to short circuit HSN wont take it in. so whats the USE of it?

I have bought xperia U from market, its working flawlessly without any problem, not every SET in market is refurb. and Xperia 2012 cant be refurbed at all.

Um ... No. But I try my level best to take into account each & everything when "Advising" someone. Otherwise, keeping quite is the best option.

You should read my post HERE. It was intended for exactly these kind of questions and specifically for people like you who think i am messing around here.

The last part of your reply on previous page ... no easy way to put it, but it was Stupid. Pardon the harshness but don't expect me to keep quite about such replies.
