Gotham Season 2: Nathan Darrow Cast as Mr. Freeze

[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Gotham season 2 ahead.]–
Say what you will about Gotham, but the TV show has so far remained true to its “Rise of the Villains” tagline for season 2. Most recently, Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) took another big step forward on his journey to becoming Riddler; there were hints that a seemingly deceased Bridgit Pike (Michelle Veintimilla) will be back one day as super-villain Firefly; and the revelation that Theo (James Frain) and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) have ties to the Order of St. Dumas means that eventually baddies like Azrael will make their way to Gotham City in the future, too.
Victor Fries a.k.a. Mr. Freeze is another Batman super-villain who has for some time been confirmed to appear on Gotham down the line. However, we now know who will portray the character on the DC TV series – and have some official information about the show’s take on the DC Comics character, as well as when he will be popping up during season 2.

TVLine is reporting that Nathan Darrow, perhaps best known for playing Frank Underwood’s bodyguard Edward Meechum on House of Cards, will portray Victor Fries on Gotham. Furthermore, it turns out the character will be joining the Gotham season 2 ensemble sooner than some may have expected, as the TV show’s executive producer John Stephens (who has also written multiple episodes of the series) has informed TVLine that “The first time we see Freeze is in December, and then we’re going to be telling a heavy Freeze story in Episodes 12 and 13.”
Here is the official description for Darrow’s version of Mr. Fries/Freeze on Gotham:
Though ferociously smart and eminently capable in his work as one of Gotham’s preeminent cryogenics engineers, Victor struggles to make meaningful connections with others. The one exception is his wife, Nora (casting TBA), who has tragically fallen ill with a terminal disease. Victor’s love for Nora knows no bounds, so as her condition worsens, he goes to extreme measures to figure out a way to freeze her before she dies. This harrowing journey leads to his transformation into the legendary DC villain, Mr. Freeze.

It was previously speculated that Gotham‘s version of Mr. Freeze might takes some cues from the New 52 comics, where Victor isn’t married to Nora – and becomes Mr. Freeze after spilling cryonic chemicals on himself during a fight with Bruce Wayne. However, the character description implies that the show’s version of Fries/Freeze will be in line with pre-52 takes on the super-villain. Darrow should do fine work in the role, so the real question is whether Gotham‘s Mr. Freeze be better written than (to bring up the elephant in the room) Arnold Schwarzenegger’s infamously campy portrayal of the character in Batman & Robin.
The Mr. Freeze character has arguably been handled well outside the comic book medium before (see his portrayal on shows like Batman: The Animated Series), but the world of Gotham – a TV show that blends gruesome violence, melodrama, and quirky dark humor in often erratic ways – isn’t necessarily a place where you should expect to see an emotionally-grounded version of Victor Fries put onscreen. Whatever you feelings are on how Gotham has re-imagined the Batman mythology, odds are that the series will portray Fries/Freeze as yet another overly-colorful baddie with a tragic backstory – though, hopefully one who’s less fond of making ice puns.
… Oh, who are we kidding, everyone loves Schwarzenegger’s ice puns, right? Moving on…

[h=1]Gotham Season 2: BD Wong Cast as Professor Hugo Strange[/h]

[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Gotham season 2 ahead.]–
Gotham season 2 episode, “By Fire”, dropped a bombshell on viewers. The final scene revealed that slave-turned-vengeful-arsonist Bridgit Pike (Michelle Veintimilla) didn’t actually die in a blaze of glory. We see her badly burned and bandaged on a gurney, being wheeled off for experimentation in the Indian Hill facility.
It turns out the last stop for Gotham’s monsters is being run by Professor Hugo Strange – and now we know who will be playing him on FOX’s DC comic book TV show.

Comicbook.com is reporting that B.D. Wong (most recently seen on the big screen as Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic World) has been cast to portray Professor Strange on the small screen in Gotham,. Viewers will first meet the villain as a seemingly devoted psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum in an upcoming season 2 episode, where he will be endeavoring to rehabilitate the city’s most deranged minds.
Indian Hill isn’t just Strange’s pet project in Gotham‘s universe, however. Wayne Enterprises is running the secret program it seems, with the end goal being to create “the ultimate super human.” Whatever Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) corrupted corporation has in mind, FOX has promised that the good professor will become “Gotham’s greatest threat.”
BD Wong as Henry Wu in Jurassic World

TV fans should recognize Wong from his 229 episodes on Law & Order: SVU as Dr. George Huang, the division’s forensic psychiatrist and criminal profiler. Wong also spent several years playing chaplain to the inmates on HBO’s prison drama Oz. The versatile actor should feel at home as a threatening Arkham psychiatrist – and his unsettling role as hacker mastermind Whiterose on Mr. Robot has once again proven he can portray ominous, mysterious characters quite well.
Strange has an even longer history than the Joker and Catwoman in the Batman comic book universe, first appearing in Detective Comics #36 (February 1940). He was obsessed with Batman, and also one of the few villains who learned Bruce’s true identity. Since Gotham has played around extensively with the established mythology of these characters, it will be interesting to see if Strange has anything to do with the future dark hero’s evolution. The professor also has a habit of non-permanent deaths, so Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) may get to “kill” him off a few times before he ever starts tangling with Batman.

[h=1]Gotham: Being Human Star Cast as Mr. Freeze’s Wife[/h]

Gotham is the Batman prequel TV series on FOX that has walked a long, hard road to acceptance from die-hard fans of the franchise. As the show has developed since it initially aired in September 2014, many villains, allies, and miscellaneous supporting characters have made their way into the spotlight afforded by the hour-long show, with plenty more still to be cast and in talks to appear eventually, such as Azrael.
In terms of more definitive upcoming appearances from iconic characters, it was recently announced that House of Cards actor Nathan Darrow would soon be turning heads as Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze. The inclusion of such a well known arch-enemy of Bruce Wayne’s is certainly more than enough reason to get excited about the show going forward, but new word has it that the former character’s beloved and terminally ill wife, Nora Fries, has also been cast.

According to Zap2it, Kristen Hager (Being Human and Masters of Sex) has been cast as Mrs. Fries. In conversation about the newcomer to the show and the character of Nora Fries, the network related the following:
“Thanks to her smarts, sincerity, and a lighthearted sensibility, she’s the only person who’s managed to connect with the otherwise emotionally cold cryogenicist. As her condition worsens and her husband becomes more desperate to save her life, Nora must make the ultimate choice: play the willing participant in Victor’s mad plan or sacrifice herself to stop the monster inside of him.”

Given the recent casting decision of BD Wong as Dr. Hugo Strange, the Batman show’s second season is amping up to be chock-full of new characters from the well-known mythology of the comic books, with plenty of roles for many a would-be superhero performer. Although the previously teased future for the Joker is still being kept largely under wraps, the inclusion of characters like Mr. Freeze, Nora Fries, Dr. Hugo Strange, and Azrael should keep fans satiated for the time being.
With Zach Snyder’s forthcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice still roughly six months in the future, the FOX television program is the closest thing fans of the World’s Greatest Detective have right now to a contemporary cinematic interpretation of Gotham City. Until Darrow, Wong, and Hager make their first screen appearances, viewers can bide their time knowing full well that the infamous characters they will portray will be coming to the titular city soon enough.
Gotham airs Mondays on FOX at 8pm.

[h=1]Gotham Casts Sons of Anarchy’s Tommy Flanagan as The Knife[/h]

Gotham season 1 introduced fans to the backstory of Penguin, but it also gave those watching far more than the background on a single Batman villain, as the season also included appearances of fan favorites like the future Riddler, Scarecrow, Catwoman, and even Poison Ivy. Now, it seems season 2 is looking to add more villains to the table, which range from the the well-known Mr. Freeze, to the less widely known Dr. Hugo Strange, all with the intent to have them run amok in a world without Batman.
But as the series continues to add to its already impressive roster of established villains, could-be villains, and soon-to-be villains, it appears Gotham has already cast yet another villain, but this time it’s not someone we’ve seen before in the Batman mythos.

ComicBook.com is reports that Sons of Anarchy actor Tommy Flanagan will appear on Gotham as The Knife. Flanagan had previously confirmed on Twitter that he was coming to Gotham, but now we have more details concerning his role.

I'm on the next flight to @gotham Send the #Batmobile. I'm driving. #IAintNoJoker @FOXTV #gotham #FOX #Batman pic.twitter.com/C6dwtvNLuz
— Tommy Flanagan (@TommyFlanagan) October 9, 2015
ComicBook.com also provided a description of the character, saying:
“The Knife is one of Gotham’s most dangerous denizens. His charming, stylish shell and good humor mask a remorseless hitman whose skills are at the service of the highest bidder. He will sit with you, laugh with you, and then cut your throat.”
Gotham has featured hitmen on the show before, most notably the character of Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan). But unlike Zsasz, Flanagan’s character has no known connection to the existing Batman comics or DC Comics publications. This isn’t the first time Gotham added an original villain, since Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) was also invented just for the series. Though perhaps the character will eventually morph into someone more recognizable in the Batman mythos.
The Knife’s role sounds sufficiently terrifying, and with Flanagan’s skill as an actor, we can probably look forward to a memorable appearance. Additionally, having an original villain might feel like a breath of fresh air amongst an increasingly crowded cast of Batman lowlifes. We’ll have to wait and see.
Tommy Flanagan will appear in episode 10 of Gotham season 2 titled ‘The Son of Gotham.’ Gotham airs on FOX, Mondays at 8 PM EST.

Watched the new episode....This one was epic as suspected. Was awesome like the first 3 eps. Poor penguin....i feel sorry for him. I hope he gets his revenge badly on Theo, and Jim and penguin work together to bring him down. So Jim Gordon finally finds out the true nature of Theo Galavan , and will take him down. Loved the penguin army lol. Penguin should have taken Victor Zsasz with him, instead of Butch, since he's loyal. We see Nygma's Transformation to Riddler. And Bruce.....he's a fucking dumb ass kid. I'm starting to dislike him. He needs to stop thinking with his dick. That silver girl is a Abuses will lead to ban lol. I keep feeling sorry for Selina, and Penguin. :p

Good episode. Thought barbara was going to die, and i wonder if Theo really was going to give the true name of his parent's to Bruce, or just a fake name just to get this company. So Theo got arrested, and his plans failed....I wonder if someone will break him out, or will another big bad of this season arrive.

Next episode we see Penguin/Riddler team up...should be interesting.

Great episode. So Theo getting caught a part of the plan? If so, Smart guy. Dark episode, with too much blood. We see some character development for Captain Barnes. I guess now Gordon will kill next time without thinking for a second, after what happened at the end. Bruce being a dumb ass as usual, behaving like a spoiled brat. I liked the Riddler/Penguin team up. But this episode was to set up the next....

I saw the preview for next week episode, it looks fucking intense, and crazy. Shit is really going down next week! Plus no Arrow/Flash next week, thanks to thanksgiving, but this episode's awesomeness will be enough. So episode 10 next week, and then the mid season finale will be episode 11. Gotham will return on February 29 then. :( This break is too long. That's like all most very close to Batman vs superman movie release date, and deadpool will already be out...

Epic episode. One of the best Gotham episodes yet. Alfred/Tabhita fight was good, the phone scene with Nygma, and Penguin was funny, like as if they were a couple. :p For the first time, Bruce went stone cold, and showed how truly bad ass he is. This is the bruce i like, and this shows the first stage of how he will become batman. Bruce owned silver. Then we see Theo showing off his martial arts skills, and kick Gordon's ass. Then penguin comes to save the day. In the end, bruce is in a tight spot, as he is confronted by Galavan. Excited to see where this will go. Really awesome episode.

Next week is Mid-season finale. Next episode shit is going down, judging by preview. So after next week's episode, show will go on a break, and return on March 1st. :( This is too long. But legends of tomorrow will start airing on 21st January, so i guess that will work as a replacement.

[h=1]Gotham Season 2: Mr. Freeze First Look Images & Details Revealed[/h]

The second season of Fox’s Gotham television series was subtitled “Rise of the Villains”, and rising is exactly what they’ve been doing. The show has begun to really hit its stride this season (off-beat and strange that stride may be), and part of that is fast-tracking the introduction of more villains from the Batman comic books rogue’s gallery.
The latest villain to surface in Gotham is sure to put a chill down the spine of any Batman fan. Yes, Mr. Freeze will make his debut on an upcoming season 2 episode, and a new interview with Nathan Darrow (House of Cards), the actor portraying the wicked ice doctor, provides insight into this new version of the character – along with the exclusive first images of him suited-up.

USA Today has a new interview with Darrow, where he delves into his take on the Mr. Freeze character on Gotham (among related issues). First, on what makes portraying Victor Fries an interesting villain, Darrow explained:
“Victor has one central intimate human connection, and that’s with his wife. There’s something really, really interesting and vulnerable and difficult about that. Of course, that is threatened by her illness. In some of the research I did on the character as he has evolved in the comic book, he has a more tenuous connection with humanity and his own humanity, and she’s it. He is applying all his talents and skills and energies to maintaining that.”
Mr. Freeze began his evil career in the comic books as a rather one-dimensional villain, named Mr. Zero. It wasn’t until the portrayal of the character by Michael Ansara in Batman: The Animated Series that Freeze really began to become a sympathetic character with real emotional ties. The Emmy Award winning 1992 episode “Heart of Ice”, written by Paul Dini, brought a new life to Mr. Freeze, painting him for the first time as a tortured and devoted husband that is simply misunderstood.
On the subject of the ill-fated wife of Mr. Freeze, Nora, Darrow said:
“I really kind of love that it’s referred to as a “mysterious illness.” It’s not just comic books, though. Look to Shakespeare and you’re going to see things like that. You’re going to see where a person has something that’s mysterious and it’s threatening their life, and it’s never refereed to but we just know it. It’s almost like it has greater weight because it’s not named as like, “Oh, she has this type of cancer.”
Nora is relatively new to the Batman universe, having been created for Batman: The Animated Series back in 1992, as a way to give Mr. Freeze more depth as a character, as we delved into above. Nora later transitioned into the comic books, as did the Dini version of the villain, and she will be portrayed on Gotham by Kristen Hager (Wanted).
You can check out the first images of Darrow as Mr. Freeze (and his gun) on Gotham, below:

Batman fans know that Mr. Freeze has a long history battling the savior of Gotham in the comic books, TV, cartoons, and movies. Mr. Freeze has been featured in over a dozen Batman cartoons and the villainous doctor has been portrayed four times in live-action format. The first three appearances were all on the 1966 Batman television series, played by George Sanders, Otto Preminger and Eli Wallach. The fourth appearance was the rather notorious version portrayal by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman & Robin.
When questioned about these past live action portrayals and whether Arnold “ruined” the character for the audience, Darrow had the following to say:
“Well, it depends on your definition of the word “ruined.” (Laughs) I have to plead some ignorance here. I never saw Batman & Robin, and I’ve seen bits of the old TV show but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything involving Mr. Freeze. I looked at some artwork and there’s these backstories that’s written about the character. I grabbed some of that. I find the character to be like a lot of the characters on the show: What becomes interesting is this “villainy” is really something that is revealed out of a person in some particular circumstances with a particular history and what they care about combined with their own level of fear about being alive and being in the rather difficult world of Gotham.”
The exact episode and date of the appearance of Dr. Victor Fries has yet to be announced, but we do know that he will be around for at least three episodes of Gotham, according to the USA Today article.
Gotham continues with “Worse Than a Crime” tonight at 8pm on FOX.

[h=1]Gotham Casts Michael Bowen as M. Malone; New Mr. Freeze Teaser[/h]

[SPOILERS for the first half of Gotham season 2 ahead.]–
The Gotham season 2 Fall Finale, “Worse Than a Crime” has aired, and with it came the conclusion to the Theo Galavan (James Frain) and the Order of St. Dumas narrative arc on the series. Of course, just because that storyline is over doesn’t mean the “Rise of the Villains” theme this season is over, too; in fact, a number of well-established DC villains will appears on the TV show when it returns in 2016.
One such baddie, in the form of Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow), made his debut on the show in the epilogue to “Worse Than a Crime”, and a newly-released teaser (see the clip above) also alludes to the impending arrival of the icy character.

Similarly, Professor Hugo Strange (BD Wong) was name-dropped near the conclusion to Gotham‘s mid-season finale, during the latest scene on the show to suggest that Strange’s experiments at the Indian Hill facility will serve as a narrative backbone for Gotham during season 2.5. The other key subplot that looks to pick up speed in the Gotham episodes that lie ahead is that surrounding Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) search to uncover the truth behind his parents’ murder.
Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind), during the pre-Fall Finale episode “The Son of Gotham”, identified one “M. Malone” as being the person responsible for killing Bruce’s parents. Sure enough, ComicBook is now reporting that Michael Bowen is set to portray M(atches) Malone during the second half of Gotham season 2.
Bowen, for those unfamiliar, is a character actor who has appeared in a number of Quentin Tarantino films (Jackie Brown and Django Unchained among them) and he has multi-episode roles on noteworthy TV series like Lost and Breaking Bad (he played ‘Uncle Jack’ on the latter) under his belt, too. Matches Malone, in the DC Comics universe, is both an actual person and an alias that Batman often dons while going under-cover in Gotham City’s criminal underbelly. However, it seems safe to assume that even in the darkly off-beat world of Gotham, 14-year old Mazouz won’t be attempting to pass himself off as the 62-year old Bowen anytime soon.
Breaking Bad’s Michael Bowen is headed to Gotham

The Joe Chill character has generally been the crook responsible for killing Thomas and Martha Wayne in past comic books, TV shows, and movies set in the Batman universe, but his motivation for doing so has varied; sometimes it’s a random killing, other times it’s a contract hit. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that Bowen is really playing a version of Joe Chill who, like Batman in comic books past, uses the Matches Malone persona to hide his identity (as a nod to the character’s previous iterations). Then again, Matches Malone could also just as easily be the real name of Bowen’s character on Gotham, too.
Gotham creator Bruno Heller and his writing staff have been more than willing to play fast and loose with the traditional Batman mythos so far – giving rise to a re-imagining of the mythology that, love it or not, is quite different than any version before – and it would appear they are going to do the same with the truth behind the Waynes’ death on the series, too. Indeed, one real possibility is that Matches Malone is connected to the Court of Owls, seeing how the Gotham writers keep dropping hints that the organization will appear on the show, sooner than later.
Then again, Bruce saying owls are his favorite animal in “Worse Than a Crime” might be more of a nod to his fascination with bats than a way of foreshadowing the Court of Owls. One can never be too sure about what to expect next in the strange and twisted world of Gotham, though.

Gotham
season 2 will continue in February 2016.

Awesome episode, and finally epilogue to this story in a way, instead of a cliff-hanger ending. Nice to see Jim/Penguin/Nygma/Alfred/Bullock/Selina working together. I wonder if Theo will come back..through Indian hill. But the Dumas storyline isn't over, we will see Azrael soon, probably for revenge.

So..March 1st we will see the show return. The break is too long. :/
We'll be seeing Azrael, Mister Freeze, Professor Hugo Strange, Mad Hatter, as confirmed by the show producers, in the next half of the season. Hope it's exciting like the first half.

[h=1]Gotham Season 2 Casts Nikita’s Melinda Clarke in Recurring Role[/h]

[SPOILERS for the first half of Gotham season 2 ahead.]–
Season 2 of Gotham has been billed as “Rise of the Villains,” and each episode has delivered on that threat. The chaos and violence in the city continues to escalate, with Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), and vengeful mastermind Theo Galavan (James Frain) contributing to the body count. Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) personal ideal of law and order slips further from his grasp with each new tragedy.
In the midseason finale, “Worse Than a Crime,” Galavan meets his end at the hands of Jim and Penguin. The episode’s final scenes of experimental laboratory Indian Hill suggest, however, that like many deaths in Gotham, Galavan’s demise may only be a transition period on the way to a more evil incarnation. When the series returns early next year, Gordon and the police force may have to face some unexpectedly familiar foes, but there are also new threats on the horizon.

One of those threats comes in the form of Grace Van Dahl, an attractive society wife in pursuit of more money and power. E! Online reports that Melinda Clarke, McKenzie’s former costar on teen drama The O.C., will portray the dangerous character. Much like Galavan, Van Dahl will put on the charm and grace in public while secretly lying, cheating, and even killing to get everything she wants.
Clarke’s character will first appear on episode 15 of season 2, which should air sometime this coming spring. She’s set for multiple episodes, so it’s possible she’ll be a part of upcoming story arcs featuring villains like Dr. Strange (B.D. Wong) and Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow).
TV fans should recognize Clarke from her multitude of roles, most recently as Division psychologist and master manipulator Amanda from The CW series Nikita. She’s also known for her popular turn as dominatrix Lady Heather on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She’s had notable appearances in several TV series, including Vegas, Entourage, The Vampire Diaries, and cult favorite Firefly.

Other upcoming guest stars on Gotham include Michael Bowen (Breaking Bad) as M(atches) Malone and Lori Petty (Orange Is the New Black) as Jeri, the owner of a secret fanatical club that views mass murder as art. Petty’s character will assist young Bruce (David Mazouz) in his pursuit of his parents’ killer, a man Silver (Natalie Alyn Lind) claimed was named “M. Malone.”
With all the twisted and powerful villains Gordon has and will face, Van Dahl by description sounds relatively tame. That seeming innocuousness could make her an enemy he mistakenly underestimates, though, making her even more dangerous. Since she’s not a character established in DC comics, we don’t have any hints to the true extent of her plans, but her place in the upper class could indicate a tie-in to Bruce and Wayne Enterprises. Executive producer Bruno Heller promises that Bruce will get to “very heart of the mystery of who killed his parents” in the second half of season 2, and it will be interesting to find out who really was responsible–and why.

[h=1]Gotham Showrunner Teases Hugo Strange’s Debut & The Waynes’ Killer[/h]

[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Gotham season 2 ahead.]–
The last time we saw Gotham, everything seemed to hit the fan. On the one hand, we had a sense of closure with the end of Theo Galavan, but the repercussions of that event may cause unending ripples for the heroes of this show. As far as the emotional state of our characters, Jim Gordon and Lee Thompkins, are concerned, this ending might as well have been a cliffhanger. Jim asked Lee to marry him, but Jim also shot Theo Galavan in cold blood. That might not sit well with Lee. But that’s not the only reason we can look forward to the midseason premiere of Gotham in February.
In the past, we’ve learned that there will be new Batman villains or other interesting characters joining the show. The midseason finale gave us our first glimpse of Mr. Freeze, but we’ve also seen proof of Penguin’s father, a new character called The Knife, M. Malone, and Hugo Strange. And now we have a little more information on those last two.
TVGuide‘s interview with Gotham creator/showrunner Bruno Heller has revealed a few more details about Hugo Strange’s involvement, the identity of the Waynes’ killer, and the impact that Jim Gordon’s actions will have on his life. According to Heller, it sounds like Jim’s murder of Theo Galavan is going to backfire in many ways.
“He’s certainly compromised. He’s stepped over that moral line. Jim Gordon has made a terrible mistake, which he’s going to pay for. The biggest price he will pay is in his relationship with Lee Tompkins. Jim’s essentially an honest man, so the need to have honest relationships does betray him in the end.”
In addition to commentary on Jim Gordon’s decision, Bruno Heller also had some interesting words about Hugo Strange and the Waynes’ killer.
“Dr. Hugo Strange [guest star B.D. Wong] has a profound effect on Penguin. He makes a new man of him in many ways. Plus: Bruce Wayne will finally find out who killed his parents!”

So it sounds like Hugo Strange will not have a large role, but it will be a profound one. At the end of the last episode we learned that Theo Galavan’s corpse was taken to Indian Hill facility, where it is heavily implied that he might return in some altered form thanks to heavy experimentation (probably by Strange). We don’t know what effect Strange will have on Penguin, but it sounds like their interaction will be a character defining moment for the emerging crime boss. Hugo Strange is played by B.D. Wong who you may remember as one of the (mad?) scientists behind the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park franchise.
It’s also interesting that Bruno Heller states outright that Bruce will learn the identity of his parents’ killer. So far, the show has revealed that M. Malone is the man who murdered the Waynes, but perhaps we are in for a big twist. All we have at this point is the name, but we know that Michael Bowen was cast to play M. Malone, so we’ll probably have more answers once we get to see him on screen.
In the DC Comics Universe, Matches Malone is often an alias that Batman himself takes when going undercover in Gotham, though the name also applies to another character in the comics. It could be, in this version of the Batman mythos, that M. Malone is also an alias taken by one person after another, or perhaps this really is a single man who killed the Waynes. The writers behind Gotham have often strayed from the traditional mythos in the past, so it’s hard to know what to expect. Regardless, we’ll know soon enough.

[h=1]Gotham: Ben McKenzie Says Dead Characters ‘Are All Able to Come Back’[/h]

[This post may contain SPOILERS for the first half of Gotham season 2.]
Any seasoned comic book reader knows that dramatic change for their favorite characters, though frequent, is rarely permanent. That is doubly true when it comes to the notion of death, which, while providing an opportunity to tell a dramatic story with “high stakes” is often fleeting – though a proven method of generating fan interest and improving a title’s sales for a few months. Death is such a common occurrence in the realm of the funny books that nearly every big-name superhero and/or villain has been “killed” off at one point or another, only to eventually return, provided his or her time out of the spotlight was sufficient enough that a return will garner an appropriately enthusiastic response.
As comic books begin to saturate other mediums, like film and television, it’s only a matter of time before the tacit rule that “death is never really the end” becomes as familiar a notion to viewers as it is to readers. The notion has already become commonplace on shows like Arrow and The Flash where, if a character isn’t being resurrected outright with the help of the (now closed for business and hot tub parties) Lazarus Pit, then he or she will likely find an extra-dimensional counterpart ready to fill the void left by their absence. One way or another, it always proves difficult to keep a good hero (or villain) down.

Although it is technically part of the same DC Comics universe, FOX’s Gotham is distant enough from The CW’s offerings that it gets to handle the issue of life after (supposed) death in any way it chooses. And according to star Ben McKenzie, of the many deaths the series has seen so far, none of them prevent that character from returning to the show at one point or another.

Speaking at Wizard World New Orleans (via Comicbook.com), the man who plays Jim Gordon was asked whether or not the once-promising Joker candidate, Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), could ever return to the series. His answer was a rather surprising, yeah, probably. Here’s, McKenzie said:
“Not only can we but we might. I can’t say definitively but yes. I’ll put it this way: almost nobody that you’ve seen go away is dead. They are all able to come back.”
While McKenzie was careful not to name any names, or hint that any of the show’s recently departed characters, like Jerome or Theo Galavan are “definitively” coming back, his statement certainly puts the possibility of their return on the table. It also suggests that characters with slightly more ambiguous endings than, say, Galavan, might also find themselves amongst Gotham’s surging criminal population once again. That means, if the door wasn’t already open for Jada Pinkett Smith’s Fish Mooney to return, it has now been taken off its hinges completely and the doorman given his walking papers.

What that means for the future of Gotham and its villain-centric storylines is probably the biggest question, now that “almost nobody you’ve seen go away is dead.” It calls into question the stakes of any given storyline. If dead’s never really dead, then what, or whom exactly is at risk? Before, there was a (loose) sense of permanence to the goings-on in the series. Jerome’s death suggested his rumored transition into the Clown Prince of Crime was nothing more than a red herring. Now, it’s his demise that suddenly smells fishy.
Does that mean – in the event that Monaghan returns to the role – the possibility of Jerome becoming the Joker is once again on the table? Given the character’s penchant for shuffling off this mortal coil, only to return months later in the pages of Batman or Detective Comics, a potential surprise reappearance (in as much as it would be a surprise given McKenzie’s statement) from the redheaded maniac would likely serve to solidify his potential for becoming the future arch nemesis of the caped crusader.
At any rate, if McKenzie were eager to see anyone come back, the likely candidate wwould be Monaghan – who apparently left quite the impression on his co-star. “He was terrific wasn’t he? Cameron… just crushed it,” McKenzie said, inadvertently starting a new wave of speculation around a character many thought was gone for good.

[h=1]Gotham TV Series Spinoff a Possibility According to Fox[/h]

Superhero spinoff series seem to be a trend these days. First, we got The Flash spinning off from Arrow on the CW. Now that world is expanding even further with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Also it seems a Punisher series may spin-off from Marvel Netflix series like Daredevil. Yet another show that has the mythos to warrant a spin-off is DC’s Gotham which airs on Fox.
Gotham, based on characters in the Batman mythos of DC Comics, has already explored a large portion of that mythology. However, there are still a number of characters and situations that the show could continue to explore in the future. One fresh way to explore the DC mythos would be to create a spinoff show set in the same timeline, and it sounds like Fox is open to this idea.

Speaking with IGN, Fox Chairman and CEO Gary Newman said that they would be “open to considering” a Gotham spinoff. While he seemed hesitant to suggest that such a spinoff could actually happen, he did express praise for the current creative team and his willingness to support a new show if DC were to agree.
“We’re really happy with the creative on Gotham this year. We thought the Rise of the Villains has been great, and it feels like a world that has many, many stories to tell. We haven’t had any conversations with Warners about whether or not they’d want to do a spinoff series. I think that would be an issue for DC. It isn’t quite clear to me that they’d be ready to do that, but it’s a good idea.”

For fans of Gotham, don’t get your hopes up for a spinoff just yet. It sounds like the decision would be up to DC and not Fox, though Fox is certainly open to suggestions as evidenced from Newman’s comments. It sounds like DC has not mentioned the possibility to Fox, so chances are they aren’t planning a spinoff any time soon. Perhaps with a little encouragement, DC will consider the option, but for now it’s only a minor possibility.
Gotham is already exploring the Batman mythos at break-neck speed, which may negate the need for a spinoff show. For example, the TV show has already given us the origin stories for a massive amount of Batman villains, and that number will only increase as the show progresses. Some of the Batman villains, like Penguin, are regular characters on Gotham, but others make only cameo appearances. If DC and Fox were to launch a spinoff, one of these minor characters might be the best avenue to pursue.

A Gotham spinoff series could also delve deeper into the past of specific organizations, such as the Court of Owls. You could even have a spinoff focusing on the Wayne ancestors and ancient conspiracies surrounding Gotham at that time. The possibilities are endless, but in the end, DC has the deciding vote on a spinoff. It also doesn’t look like there are any plans for the near future. Between Gotham, Supergirl, and all of the DC shows on the CW (not to mention a few others in development), DC might have their hands full for now.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
