Start from Arrow season 1. You wont understand S4, if you havent watched any previous seasons. I'd really recommend to watch it. The first 2 seasons are freaking amazing.

[h=1]Gotham Season 2 Poster & Banner Tease Wrath of the Villains Storyline[/h]

Just as in real life, every good fictional world will – and must – go through changes. These changes can take on a multitude of different dimensions, both altering and challenging what is familiar and giving rise to a host of new stories. It’s arguable that when a story is continually in flux in this way, audiences have more to experience and therefore more of a reason to become engrossed.
For its own part, FOX’s Gotham series follows this type of trajectory. Now that its first season is out of the way and has been done, the second season has begun to build its twists and turns in such a way that promises no small amount of intrigue for fans. Gotham’s strengths are often found in the manner by which its characters change and become either less or more of what audiences are familiar with.
As the second season of Gotham prepares to continue in February from its brief break, the concept of its characters changing and growing is becoming more and more alluring. To help keep this buzz alive, FOX has just released a new poster and banner in promotion of the continuation of season 2, both of which can be viewed below.

Dubbed the “Wrath of the Villains”, season 2’s continuation will provide Gotham audiences with no shortage of slippery characters, although exactly which villains in particular will stage their wrath is not completely known. The poster certainly hints at a few possibilities: Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) is very likely to make an attempt at avenging her brother’s death; Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow), the man who will one day become Mr Freeze, is stealing bodies from a variety of sources around the city, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) certainly won’t go down without a fight – and possibly drag others into the picture as well.
The potential changes that could occur in the characters this season are enticing to say the least, keeping true to showrunner Bruno Heller’s description of Gotham being about transformation, “whether by fate or accident or whatever” and how “everyone in the show is in the process of becoming someone else.”
For a series that has only just entered into its second season, Gotham is making some strong progress in terms of flipping viewer’s initial perceptions of the characters. As previously stated, a bit of guesswork and some alterations will keep this series from being just another stale, paint by numbers superhero origins tale. While we are indeed seeing the rise of many different villains and heroes, Gotham thrives on more – and as result still, gives off the appearance of a series that has much in store for its audience.

Gotham
season 2 resumes with the “Wrath of the Villains”, starting February 29th, 2016 on FOX.

[h=1]Gotham Season 2: Jada Pinkett Smith to Return as Fish Mooney[/h]

Fox’s Batman prequel series, Gotham, established the world of DC Comics’ famous city in season 1, following Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) through the criminal underbelly that introduced villains like Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). Season 2 ushered in a new wave of antagonists for the good guys of Gotham to face, as well as the rebranded run of episodes, “Rise of the Villains.”
When Gotham season 2 returns at the end of February, the show will be rebranded again as “Wrath of the Villains” and welcome new DC Comics antagonists Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) and Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong). Now, we know another villain will be returning from a watery grave when Gotham resumes its second season.

TV Line is reporting Smith will reprise her role as Fish Mooney in multiple season 2 episodes, though they don’t specify an exact number or when the villainess would make her official return. Fish was seemingly killed by Cobblepot in the season 1 finale of Gotham, and Smith’s comments about only signing a one-year contract for the show seemed to indicate she wouldn’t be back.
However, Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller also commented on Fish’s fate, saying “nobody dies forever in the DC Universe, necessarily, so I’m hoping whatever happens at the end of [season 1] that Fish can and will be back.” Additionally, McKenzie recently revealed that all characters who are dead “are able to come back” perhaps teasing Fish’s return – or potentially alluding to other villains that were killed in the first half of season 2.

The concept on resurrection on comic book television shows isn’t relatively new. Arrow has explored both literal and figurative resurrection in its fourth season with the returns of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh). The CW series used both mysticism and science to resurrect their characters, but since we don’t know what happened to Fish after Cobblepot pushed her off the roof and into water, we don’t know how she’ll be resurrected on Gotham, whether with the help of Hugo Strange’s experiments or some other means.
That being said, once Gotham begins to resurrect their villains – even if only for a short time – the show’s stakes come into question. If death isn’t permanent, then a character dying doesn’t hold the same weight. But, whether Fish’s return lessens the stakes of Gotham remains to be seen in how the show handles her resurrection. Still, fans who enjoyed Smith’s performance as Fish Mooney in season 1 may welcome her back for the “Wrath of the Villains” in Gotham season 2.

[h=1]Gotham Season 2 Promo Offers Look at Mr. Freeze In Action[/h]

The lore surrounding Batman’s extensive rogues’ gallery has been an ever-changing narrative. The origins of many of Batman’s foes took place during the Golden Age of comic books, when stories were more one-dimensional, only to later be overhauled as the decades passed — in the comics, cartoons and especially movies. The latest re-write of many characters’ respective histories have been taking place on FOX’s Gotham television series.
The latest character criminal to converge on the citizens of Gotham City is set to be Mr. Freeze. As of late, the show has been airing promos non-stop, showcasing a frozen city along with the tagline “Wrath of the Villains,” which sounds like an appropriate follow-up to the first half of the seasons’ “Rise of the Villains” storyline. So far, fans have seen images of the frosty villain (oh, the puns!) in costume, but a new video has surfaced that showcases the younger Victor Fries and his notorious freeze gun in action.

There hasn’t been too much revealed about the Gotham version of Mr. Freeze as of yet. Fans first caught a glimpse of Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow) at the end of the fall finale episode ‘Worse Than a Crime.’ We know that Gotham will retain the Batman: The Animated Series origin of Mr. Freeze and likely depict him as an at least partially sympathetic character — what with his terminally ill wife, Nora Fries (Kristen Hager) in the picture. The bulk of the Freeze saga will be explored over the course of a two-part episode arc.

The actual history of Mr. Freeze is somewhat less involved than the version Gotham will present to the viewers. When he first appeared in the comic books back in 1959, he was known by the moniker of Mr. Zero. Mr. Zero, sometimes known as Dr. Zero, was simply a scientist that experienced a tragic accident when his ice gun design backfired, exposing him to cryogenic chemicals. His body needed to be kept at freezing temperatures from that point forward. The villain had a presence in the comic books, but it wasn’t until the 1966 Batman television series that the character really got his day in the sun.
The classic Batman series featured Mr. Freeze in the first two of its seasons on the air (1966 and 1967); each season featuring a different actor portraying the cold-hearted rogue (George Sanders and Otto Preminger in season one and Eli Wallach in season two). Freeze would go on to be featured in the Filmation studios Batman cartoons of the era, The Adventures of Batman (1968) and The New Adventures of Batman (1977). He also had a few comic book appearances, but it wasn’t until the Emmy-Award winning Batman: The Animated Series episode ‘Heart of Ice’ that fans would finally see the character given a deeper and more lasting origin, courtesy of Harley Quinn creator Paul Dini.
Mr. Freeze then became a marketable and formidable Batman rogue, with his own direct to VHS movie, feature film debut and his inclusion in almost every Batman cartoon since Batman: The Animated Series (with the exception of Justice League/JLU and Beware the Batman). Gotham marks the first live-action television appearance by Mr. Freeze since 1967.
Gotham returns on Monday, February 29 on FOX.

[h=1]Gotham Season 2: First Look at BD Wong as Hugo Strange Revealed[/h]

[SPOILERS AHEAD for those not caught up on Gotham season 2.]–
“Rise of the Villains” was the self-proclaimed theme for the first half of Gotham season 2, but things will change when the show resumes this month – namely, from the “Rise” to the “Wrath of the Villains”. Similarly, now that Theo Galavan (James Frain) is dead – or, rather, dead for the time being – there is room for someone else to fill the “Big Bad” position that Theo occupied during the “Rise of the Villains” story arc. It’s not clear exactly who is going to be taking over that job in the episodes ahead, but one strong possibility is that of Professor Hugo Strange, who’s been quietly stirring up trouble behind closed doors at the Indian Hill facility, away from the prying eyes of Jim Gordan (Ben McKenzie) and his allies at the Gotham City Police Department.
Strange, who debuted in the world of DC Comics in 1940, will be portrayed on the small screen by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Jurassic World actor BD Wong on Gotham. The first official image of Wong on the series has now been revealed, along with a tease from the actor about what Strange will be getting up to – in the weird and off-beat world that is Gotham.
TVInsider debuted the following image of Wong as Hugo Strange on Gotham, along with a quote from the actor teasing the mad doctor’s actions over at the Indian Hill facility:
“What [he] is doing in there is indeed very, very bad. Imagine the worst thing someone might do. Then multiply that by 10.”

The “very, very bad” things that Strange has been up to include experiments on the deceased; not just Theo, but other villains that’ve been featured on Gotham season 2 thus far, including Bridgit Pike a.k.a. Gotham‘s one and future Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla). McKenzie recently confirmed that death is not at all a permanent condition for the citizens of Gotham City – and we know of at least one character who, for certain, will come back from the dead (in either a figurative or a literal manner) during the second half of Gotham season 2: Penguin’s old boss, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), whose return has been confirmed by FOX.
And speaking of Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) – Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller previously teased that Strange “makes a new man of him in many ways,” when the pair cross paths on the show. FOX has released a promo for Gotham‘s return that shows the Penguin incarcerated and chained up in some unidentified facility, which TVInsider has now confirmed is, indeed, Arkham Asylum – the place that Strange is currently running. Wong further teased that the encounter between Strange and Oswald will be a memorable one for the latter in particular, saying that “He is never the same from the moment he walks through the door.”
The young Penguin on Gotham has thus far proven himself to overall be a careful and shrewd schemer (even with his occasional emotional outbursts) who’s willing to get his hands dirty. However, much like the show in general, it sounds as though Gotham‘s version of the super-villain is only going to become all the more twisted and maniacal hereon out, when season 2 picks back up and Hugo Strange gets his chance to “mess” with the Penguin as he pleases.

[h=1]Gotham Season 2 Promo: The Bad Guys Are Changing[/h]

The first half of Gotham season 2 was known as “Rise of the Villains,” and it showcased the ways in which the criminal element in Gotham City had begun to escalate. Thing had gotten so bad, in fact, that the mid-season finale demonstrated the changes in detective James Gordon, as he found himself partnering with unlikely allies and eventually crossing lines he had refused to cross in season 1.
The second half of season 2 begins on Monday, February 29, and with it begins a new storyline. “Wrath of the Villains” will show just how much the bad guys in Gotham are changing, and a new promo gives us a taste of how sinister those bad guys may be.

Focusing largely on the arrival of Mr. Freeze, the promo features Gordon’s voiceover explaining that “The bad guys in this town are changing. I don’t know how bad it’s going to get.” There is also a brief glimpse of Oswald Cobblepot in prison stripes and chains, Bruce Wayne training on a punching bag (presumably with Alfred), and B.D. Wong in action as Hugo Strange. Additionally, the promo hints that Edward Nygma’s transition to the Riddler is advancing even further, and that he’s becoming even more fixated on Gordon. The brief trailer ends with scenes of Professor Strange and Gordon, overcut by a voiceover of Strange referring to “troubled times” before fading to a frozen “Wrath of the Villains” image of Gotham.

The promo largely builds on what has already been revealed, and hints that two of the biggest influences in the latter half of the season will be Freeze and Hugo Strange. Mr. Freeze is front and center throughout most of the promo, though we don’t get a good look at the costume that’s been revealed in some pictures. There are also some fairly strong visual hints to let fans know that Freeze’s character will be based at least somewhat on the classic ‘Heart of Ice’ origin story from Batman: The Animated Series. It doesn’t look like the character will share that version’s icy demeanor, however.
It will be interesting to see where things go with Strange, since there wasn’t much in the promo to suggest what role he’s playing in the “Wrath of the Villains” that’s coming to Gotham. We know from the midseason finale he’s experimenting on bodies of criminals like Theo Galavan, and anyone familiar with the character (from either the comics or Arkham games) will know he’s likely involved in much more than that. It’s possible Strange is involved with Freeze and his research/abilities, and it’s already been revealed he’s going to have an encounter with Cobblepot that changes the latter’s life forever. With any luck, the new character won’t be as prominent a villain as some of the other bad guys featured this season, since Strange works best when he’s manipulating everything from the shadows.
Some fans may take issue with how Freeze appears in the promo (and how the “freezing” effect looks in the first scene), though it’s certainly not the first time that Gotham has taken familiar characters in a different direction. Only time will tell how well the new characters play out on screen, but fortunately there isn’t long to wait.

Gotham is finally back. Good ep, even after a long break.

Wonder if Penguin will break out of Arkham Ayslum, i don't imagine him staying at there the whole season. Victor Fries was okay, and interesting. 'Fries' always remind me of french fries dammit!

Hugo Strange seems very creepy, and interesting.

I hope this season gets epic fast, i want to see Jerome's, and Theo's return.

[h=1]Gotham Promo Photo: Is Lori Petty the Female Joker? While it tends (especially lately) to draw more mixed reviews from critics and more unhappy scrutiny from fans than fellow DC Multiverse TV properties like Arrow, Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow, the offbeat Batman-prequel Gotham is still a hit for Fox in its ever more villain-centric second season. Of special interest to fans are the continuing teases as to whether or not The Joker will join the surprisingly ranks of villains who were apparently already active for at least a decade before Batman actually showed up.
Several would-be Jokers have already exited the series, and now it looks like another “maybe” could be stepping up to the plate – in the person of actress Lori Petty.
Granted, it feels unlikely that Gotham is planning to reveal that it’s version of The Joker is a woman, but the implication that Petty’s mystertious character could be in some way connected to the yet-unknown backstory of The Clown Prince of Crime is clearly meant to be felt by early teaser-images of the actress in conspicuous Joker-esque facepaint – although the context is rendered slightly less unusual in wider shots that show her in punk-rock attire attending what looks like an underground concert with dozens of other attendees in similarly garish getups.

[/h]

Complicating Joker-spotting as a hobby among viewers is the fact that The Joker doesn’t traditionally have much in the way of an “official” origin in the accepted comics canon. Originally his clown-like disfigurement had no explanation (like the similarly grotesque nicknamed gangsters popular in then-contemporary comics like Dick Tracy) but was eventually revealed to be the result of falling into a vat of chemicals during a fight with Batman in an earlier guise as The Red Hood.
Writer Alan Moore would later expand that origin in The Killing Joke with Joker as an otherwise-ordinary failed stand-up comedian who had accidentally wound up dressed as Red Hood after a comedically-absurd succession of personal tragedies. Joker himself (who may not actually know the truth, either) has suggested having been abused with bleach by a cleanliness-obsessed relative as a child, while some recent stories have posited that he is actually the modern manifestation of a Colonial-era mythic boogeyman, The Pale Man of Gotham.
It is unknown whether these or any other variations thereupon are in the plans for Gotham’s future. Of Petty’s episode (“This Ball of Mud and Meanness”), a press release offers:
“Alfred and Selina help Bruce on his quest to find his parents’ killer, Matches Malone (guest star Michael Bowen). Meanwhile, Gordon follows up with Edward Nygma on Kristen Kringle’s whereabouts and Hugo Strange (guest star BD Wong) continues his treatment to reduce Penguin’s aggression.”
This isn’t Gotham’s first potential Joker

Few actual clues seem to be implied in Petty’s makeup and costuming, which look to draw from a variety of reference points: Her Joker-esque makeup recalls the subtle slit-mouth look of Heath Ledger’s Joker from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, but her mis-mash costume recalls the look often given to Joker followers (Harley Quinn, most notably) in the Arkham games – whose aesthetic Gotham has often been cited as borrowing from. The short haircut and large-frame glasses, on the other hand, recall no character so much as Ellen Yindel – the Commissioner of Police in the dystopian-future setting of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. Could this be a fake-out, with Petty’s character turning out to be an undercover cop?
Fans won’t have to wait long to find out: “This Ball of Mud and Meanness” airs Monday, March 14 on Fox.
