Weird that a choice isn't given to the user considering this should be the PC version of the game running on a stream.

Anything STREAMING is catastrophe for Pakistani gamers. I hope it does not go mainstream for at least 3 years so that we have suitable infrastructure deployed by Google and Microsoft in our region of the world. Forget Sony, they will never support Pakistan in 100 years.

While the business management side of things has led to an inexcusable clusterfuck of a launch by Google (missing family features, locking app purchases settings & code validation to Pixel phones), the streaming technology and convenience factor itself remains impressive.

Factors like managing game downloads, storage spaces, game updates, console updates are eliminated. This hassle free convenience is only limited to streaming services now.

And what you lose in precision detail and latency, you gain in convenience. Load up Red Dead Redemption 2 or Destiny 2 in parallel with their console counterparts and the reduction in loading times alone is tremendous. Meanwhile, just to get the comparisons in place for this article, I've had to leave my Xbox One X downloading overnight a couple of times to access titles that can have storage footprints in excess of 100GB. Put simply, instant access to anything and everything in your library has enormous value.

Yes, the lag is perceptible, but remember that the vast majority of players are gaming on flat panels with game mode disabled - lag is a thing that many gamers just accept.

As a technological statement, Stadia impresses with the best image quality and latency I've seen from a streaming platform

The Pixel 4 launch itself was horrible and that's the company's flagship hardware product. Google's management really needs to get their act together. They are becoming a shittier version of Apple.

Google redeemed, RDR 2 has lower latency on Stadia than XBX.

PC version at 60 FPS has 300+ MS response time too lol. This game plays bad across the board.

355ms for that particular action is still way better than 400ms+, which is the whole point, to reduce the lag as much as possible.

Firstly, monitors aren't exclusive to PC just as TVs aren't exclusive to consoles. Secondly, monitors and TVs aren't so far off in terms of input lag (when the TV is in game mode) these days.

The point is even less relevant with HDMI 2.1 displays, which come with a low latency mode as part of the standard.

Multiple posts on Reddit and Twitter suggest Google's media player can't keep up with games, 9to5Google notes. It appears that the Chromecast Ultra gets far too hot while Stadia runs, and thus the media player shuts down to avoid any damage to internal components. Now, users are wondering why the Chromecast Ultra fails to handle a few hours of playtime despite its reliance on the cloud rather than on-device processing.

Google, however, doesn't seem all that concerned. Support representatives are telling users the Chromecast Ultra performs as intended.

"We know any sort of heat on a device can be worrisome, but we can confirm there is no thermal overheating issue with Chromecast Ultra," one representative stated. "During normal usage (like watching cat videos on YouTube), the surface of the device may get warm to the touch, but this is working as designed."

This is the opposite of what should happen. If it doesnt go mainstream, there isnt any incentive for any company private or public to invest in improving Pakistan's capability.

Google and Microsoft are not going to invest in improving infrastructure in our region, just because it was a failure in the rest of the world, vice versa they will pull back resources to invest more into the "paying world"
