The irony behind that pathetic excuse being made for Sony, in typical blind fanboy fashion, is that had Cyberpunk 2077 been a first party game, it would in fact be on Game Pass as all their other games. Indeed, Halo Infinite will be there Day One even though Halo 5 was the biggest launch in franchise history.

What's worse than that "pathetic excuse" is the double standards on display here. Being first-party doesn't mean anything here. Would CDPR have made Cyberpunk 2077 free day 1 on GoG if they had a similar subscription-based service? lol no they wouldn't have.

Halo is no longer a big deal sales-wise, nor is Gears. Biggest launch? Maybe when taking the first month into account. Last I checked, the game sold over 6 million copies, which is close to the lowest selling Halo.

Cyberpunk 2077 is headed in some interesting directions

yberpunk 2077 won’t be out until September of this year, but the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has released a few details about what we can expect from the game while we wait.
The ESRB has given Cyberpunk 2077 the Mature rating, for depictions of:

• Blood and Gore
• Intense Violence
• Nudity
• Strong Language
• Strong Sexual Content
• Use of Drugs and Alcohol

The ESRB also puts together a summary explaining each rating. This summary often includes details about the game, some of its missions, or the various activities and shenanigans that players can find as they play. There’s shooting, and blood, and guns, which all checks out. But then things get more interesting.
The ESRB describes a mission where you “assist a character by hammering nails through his hands and feet,” and also mentions that the game includes drugs, both real and fictional, and depictions of their use.
Then there’s the sexual content. “The game contains nudity and sexual material,” the ESRB states. “Players can select a gender and customize their character; customization can include depictions of breasts, buttocks, and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations of genitals.”
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released for Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Sept. 17, with an Xbox One X version coming at a later date.

lmao MS has already stated all their first party published games will be on Game Pass, ofc it matters. If sales had anything to do with it Halo Infinite could have been launched on Game Pass 6 months or a year down the line. But no, that isn't the case.

Though its a half assed approach, its not a coincidence that after the massive success of Game Pass even Sony is putting their first party games on PS Now. Ironically, they put those games that had no issue selling well in the first place.
