What is this political agenda being shoved down my throat? I want to play the game, not indulge in politics. Shame on CPDR!

*I must sound like a genius. Heuheuheu* :p
If this is a dig at me, then know it isn't about political agenda or anything, the fact is plenty of people die else where in the world and no company bats an eye. I'm just disappointed that a single murder in a America can cause events to cancel all around the world

I hear where you are coming from, but I really think that its unjust for us to view it as a single murder. The murder is just the face given to the whole body of racism and injustice, which is boiling over.

What is wrong and unjust, is that so many other major problems..from Uighar in china, injustice with Palestinians, hatred filled political discourse of India, etc are not given the same exposure/light/coverage / importance as any issue in much of the western world.
However this is not a competition of injustices and I am glad that for one reason or the other, companies have been forced to respond to one of them.

Nope, it is what some people had to say about TLoU II and ND because their game has some implicit political dimension when the same people have no issue when CPDR engages with political issues. My comment was sarcastic of course and I'm totally with CPDR on this, as I am with ND and others.

As for the current situation in the US, i think most Pakistanis don't and cannot get it (because it doesn't affect them) so it's better to not comment on that since it is a sensitive issue, at least for people who are affected. One thing I know and can say is that it's not about a single murder at all. Racial bias and discrimination, especially against blacks, is a systemic issue throughout the Western world and predominantly in the US. It affects most black people every single day in all sorts of ways, much like how being a religious minority affects someone in Pakistan (you can discriminate against them and get away with it most of the time). The recent murder is just another instance of that systemic discrimination against blacks which is rooted in American institutions and society (a remnant of slavery if you will). It is this larger issue that people are protesting against and it is an issue that has cost innumerable lives in the past and still affects millions of people. This is how it looks from the perspective of American companies and people (non racist ones that is). So I get where they are coming from and this issue is far more important than the disappointment that cancelled events may cause me.

I'll applaud these companies when they will stand up for another injustice specially outside america. I mean you don't have to do much, just change your profile picture, delay your stuff and issue a half ass statement. Right?

They don't care about racism, not any injustice, just money and of course good PR. Remember when blizzard banned blitzchung from participating and they didn't care despite protests? Remember when they outright banned/censored anyone saying free hongkong? We forget so easily. Well that was Hongkong not US of A sadly.

Most people here likely don't give a fuck about what's happening in America right now either, but to appear as modern and "woke" they will tweet/post how racism is bad and black lives matter while ignoring the minority treatment in thier own country. Hypocrisy, virtue signalling just everywhere.

In the face of another racism/injustice when this all settles down, I'll be waiting, waiting to see how all of these oh so caring and woke companies react, if they don't I'll be expecting an outrage. We'll see.

If we stop and cancel events for every major Injustice that we have witness for even the last two decades, we probably won't have to work ever again.

Oh yesterday was Tinamen Square Massacre day, I almost forgot to mention.

pasha jaan, it would be really stupid for companies to have events right now, it's gonna be nothing but bar PR.

that tweet you quoted is mostly on the spot. The biggest thing all these companies care about is optics. But it is what it is. You don't have to like it but they companies don't want to alienate fans and get bad publicity, especially in today's twitter-verse age.

This is about real world events, not what's happening in the game.

Moreover, cyberpunk as a sub-genre is inherently political.

P.S: No ones forcing you to play as a lesbian here. (not that there's anything wrong with that, just saying :p)

Initially, they were like we don't want to announce a release date that we can't stick to. Then they were like, let's keep doing exactly that because we live by "ready when it's done". [emoji14]

This is effectively a next-gen release it seems. There'll be some PS5 and XBSX games to play in late November I think, at least for those who are getting the console(s) at launch. Anyway, now I can only hope the game makes it in 2020. [emoji14]

Someone from resetera compiled new information from the investor call about the delay

While the game's actual PS5/XBX enhancement patch will come next year, the game will still be playable on both from day 1 confirming BC, and will have some inherent improvements ala PS4 pro's boost mode, also both PS5/XBSX will get free upgrades to native PS5/XBSX version if you already own the PS4/XBO version.

  • They confirm that press is playing the game as we speak in order to produce previews for the next week, 25th
  • Previews will be released when Night City Wire ends on 25th
  • "Read the previews" was said so video unlikely from press? (my own speculation!)
  • Press playing the game for previews are "from around the globe"
  • Press has access to build that has character creation, starts from the beginning of the game and has time limit, but no limits on what they can do in the game. Build is lacking things like some of the story content as CDPR wants keep stuff under wraps. Build has bugs in. (commentary: so no spit polished vertical slice to play, that is good)
  • They are streaming game from PCs to press to play because of COVID prevents in-person events
  • They aren't worried about releasing so close to next-gen, confirming that backwards compatibility is possible on PS5 and XSX for the game
  • Game will run on PS4, PS5, XBO and XSX from day 1
  • Game will look better on next-gen consoles from day 1
  • Next-gen version is planned for 2021, "more robust update". Will be free of charge for those who own last-gen version
  • They expect next-gen consoles to release around same time, but they aren't worried about release titles creating competition for CP77 as release titles look to be different kind games
  • They keep being coy about number of expansions coming to the CP77, number of them will be announced "soon" as part of marketing campaign
  • Insisting that COVID and working from home situation aren't cause of delay, last stretch of development is just very demanding
  • They have seen increases in pre-orders of Cyberpunk 2077 every time some store that it has ran sale on other games
  • No plans for live events for the game at this time
  • CDPR doesn't do delays to try and reach arbitrary MetaCritic scores, they just want to release game when they feel quality is what they strive for
  • Multiplayer portion / version of the game is delayed proportionally to delay of CP77. CP77 is pushed back by X, MP part is pushed back by X
From call about delay https://www.cdprojekt.com/en/wp-content/uploads-en/2020/06/20200618_1900-cd-projekt.mp3

Previews are on PC too. Will they even show the console versions before launch at this rate? I do genuinely feel bad for people who's first experience will be on XB1/PS4 (base or enhanced).
