So here I am guys, just appeared in my HSSC Part-II exams and with that, the fun times have ended; it's time to get serious about my career. The thing is I was born in a medical background family, so I was forced to take up Biology in 9th/10th even though I have always been into computer and other technical stuff (used to carry a few wires, bulb and a battery in my pocket all the time as a kid ).
I got bad marks in Biology and made it pretty clear that I don't wanna take Pre-Med in Inter, so my dad allowed me to take Pre-Engg. Now the problem was I absolutely loved the practical aspects of it but hated the theory part especially physics and chemistry (what the hell am I going to do by learning how caustic soda is made by various methods? ). Loved all the maths except calculus. Got only 67% in 1st year. So then I realized I couldn't continue with engineering either.
So after much discussion with by bro and dad I've decided to take up accounting; mainly because I find income, expenditure, tax etc very interesting; and partly because I've been regularly reading columns and articles about business and financial positions of big tech companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google etc and I love it.
So I've two choices in front of me - CA or ACCA. Now I'm pretty confused about these two. Asked a few people about it who were taking these courses, some loved their own course and some were cursing it. So what do you guys suggest? What's might be the scope of these two in 2-3 years time? I'm sure there will be a few of are doing either of two or already done, so any input will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to take this decision in a hurry and regret it later
P.S. I'm sure there might've been quite a few discussions here already, but I guess I'm too lazy to search
P.P.S I saluate you if you read this post till the end. That's the largest post I've ever written.
