Can someone add a poll in this thread for question: whether to buy/pre-order this game or not? So we can get a general idea of people who have played the beta :|

Awesome game. Finally 15 minutes worth of multiplayer. I didn't like it in the beginning but once you get the hang of it you will feel immersed in the battlefield. Game needs patience , tactics and squad play for best results. I find it to be one of the best games after battlefield 2 bad company multiplayer

[h=1]Battlefield 1 open beta reached 13.2M players[/h]

[h=2]Maybe the biggest beta ever[/h]

More than 13.2 million people tried Battlefield 1’s open beta, making it the largest beta in Electronic Arts history, developer EA DICE announced today.
The figure includes players from all three platforms on which the beta was available: PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. EA DICE ran the beta for 10 days, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 8.

[h=1]Here's how you play Battlefield 1 early[/h]

[h=2]EA Access subscribers get 10 hours of playtime over eight days before launch[/h]

EA DICE has outlined what the "Play First Trial" entails for Battlefield 1 hen it goes live on EA Access and Origin Access on Oct. 13.
EA Access members get 10 hours of game time — that includes sitting in menu, so use it wisely — which has been the standard for most early access previews since the program launched two years ago.
They'll spend that time on five maps playing four modes in multiplayer. The maps are St. Quentin Scar, Amiens, Sinai Desert, Fao Fortress and Suez. The modes are Conquest, Rush, Operations and Domination.
There will also be two missions from the single-player campaign: Storm of Steel and Through Mud and Blood.

Progress will carry over from this trial to the full game after launch. Those who play all 10 hours of the trial will have a Battlepack waiting for them upon launch.
The Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, which launches Oct. 18 — three days before the Oct. 21 street date — will bring with it the rest of the game's maps and modes, so those in the EA Access preview may want to set aside some time for those three days.
Battlefield 1, the military shooter franchise's take on World War I, launches Oct. 21 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. A beta that recently concluded involved more than 13 million players.

[h=1]How Battlefield 1's single-player campaign embraces diversity[/h]

[h=2]Mini-stories prefered to single character arc[/h]

Battlefield 1's single-player campaign will jump between various characters and their stories in an attempt to portray the diversity of experiences during World War I.
In a blog post yesterday, developer DICE outlined its reasoning for avoiding the Battlefield series' traditional reliance on a single character, while adding some details about the game's story.
"The Great War is diverse," stated the post. "We knew we wanted to embrace that variety. There were so many different perspectives and characters in World War I and we wanted to cover as much ground as possible.
"We felt that to have one character hopping through those different settings wouldn’t be as immersive or totally respectful to the setting. So we decided on an anthology format; a set of characters with their own more focused stories."

A trailer released yesterday showed various characters in the trenches, the air war, and the North African campaigns. One of the stories will center on a young British soldier who is thrust into the war as a driver of a new invention, the tank.

"Our protagonist has no experience of these modern war vehicles and needs to learn fast," continues the blog. "[He] is struggling to earn the trust of his fellow crew members, so there’s a social dynamic in the story, making the whole thing something personal. Danny Edwards, our driver character, is not an ace sniper. He’s not a crack pilot. He’s not a demo expert. He’s a former chauffeur, a volunteer new to the war. He can drive and he can fix things. That’s where we start. "In previous Battlefield iterations we’ve experienced the story through the eyes of one main character, and it was very rare that the camera cut anywhere. But in Battlefield 1 we decided we wanted stronger characters instead of just telling players ‘you are the character.’

"One way to do this was to invoke classic cinematics that let you see your character more than in first-person-theater. We wanted the player to see and feel what the characters are going through, rather than just experiencing it from behind their eyes. That has really payed off for us not just in storytelling ability, but in emotional engagement. "
Battlefield 1 will be released on Oct. 21 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

    if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
