[h=1]Arrowverse Producer Suspended Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations[/h]

Warner Bros. TV has suspended The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow producer Andrew Kreisberg, and launched an investigation into claims of sexual harassment. Ever since The New York Times piece detailing accounts of sexual harassment and abuse committed by Harvey Weinstein, the floodgates have opened, and more and more survivors have come forward with their own stories of predatory behavior in Hollywood (and other industries). Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp spoke out against Kevin Spacey, while more recently, Louis C.K. was accused of sexual misconduct, which he confirmed in his own statement – but these are just two instances of many over recent weeks.
In each case, the fallout from the accusations has been different, but there’s been one common denominator – those accused of sexual harassment or assault have faced consequences for their actions, even if those consequences aren’t of the legal nature. Weinstein was fired from his company and expelled from the Academy, Spacey was fired from House of Cards by Netflix and will be replaced through reshoots of Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World, and C.K. was dropped by HBO, Netflix, FX, and the upcoming Universal and Illumination sequel, The Secret Life of Pets 2. Now, Warner Bros. is investigating a new round of sexual harassment claims.
[h=4]

Variety
is reporting that Warner Bros. TV Group has suspended Kreisberg and launched an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior. A total of 19 sources spoke to Variety, including 15 women and four men, all of whom have worked with the producer – who allege Kreisberg has engaged in sexually harassing behavior and inappropriate physical contact over the years. Warner Bros. TV Group released a statement concerning their investigation:[/h]
We have recently been made aware of allegations of misconduct against Andrew Kreisberg. We have suspended Mr. Kreisberg and are conducting an internal investigation. We take all allegations of misconduct extremely seriously, and are committed to creating a safe working environment for our employees and everyone involved in our productions.

Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, who run Berlanti Productions, the company that oversees Kreisberg’s shows, released their own statement in regards to these accusations:
We were recently made aware of some deeply troubling allegations regarding one of our showrunners. We have been encouraging and fully cooperating with the investigation into this by Warner Bros. There is nothing more important to us than the safety and well-being of our cast, crew, writers, producers and any staff. We do not tolerate harassment and are committed to doing everything we can to make an environment that’s safe to work in and safe to speak up about if it isn’t.
According to Variety’s sources, Kreisberg frequently touched people without permission, asked for massages from uncomfortable female staffers, and kissed women without consent. He additionally is accused by almost every source of constantly making sexualized comments about “women’s appearances, their clothes, and their perceived desirability.” None of Variety’s sources, all of whom wished to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, reported Kreisberg to Warner Bros. human resources as they assumed they would suffer worse consequences than the producer given his status within the company.
[h=4]Many women who spoke to Variety noted that the environment Kreisberg fostered was “hostile” and “toxic” to the point that some said they felt unsafe on set. A male writer on one of Kreisberg’s CW shows said he tried to talk to the producer about his behavior, but “it had no impact.” According to a number of Variety’s sources, Kreisberg’s behavior worsened after he was given significantly more power as an executive producer on multiple shows (he serves as such on Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow). One male writer said, “The power went to his head. It became clear to me that it would be very dangerous, career-wise, for me to confront him about his behavior.”[/h]

Kreisberg responded to the allegations against him, denying that anyone ever told him he should stop making sexually harassing remarks to and/or about women, as well as insisting his actions on set were not of a sexual nature:
I have made comments on women’s appearances and clothes in my capacity as an executive producer, but they were not sexualized. Like many people, I have given someone a non-sexual hug or kiss on the cheek. … I have proudly mentored both male and female colleagues for many years. But never in what I believe to be an unwanted way and certainly never in a sexual way.
As of now, it remains to be seen what will come of Warner Bros’ investigation into these claims, whether Kreisberg will be reinstated within the company or let go. If he were to be let go from Warner Bros., he would be another figure in Hollywood accused of sexual harassment and misconduct to face consequences for their actions.
In terms of the series on which Kreisberg serves, it’s unclear if his suspension will affect their current seasons or not, but with highly qualified and talented teams behind the scenes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow, they’ll no doubt be able to keep production on the series moving forward. Now, many will look to Warner Bros. to see what will come of these allegations against Kreisberg surfacing.

[h=1]Crisis on Earth-X Unites Over 20 Superheroes In One Scene[/h]

It seems like The CW is really upping the ante in this year’scrossover between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow – not just in terms of stakes and scope, but apparently as well as in spectacle with a single sequence in the upcoming special bringing together at least 20 superheroes on the small screen.
The upcoming crossover, titled ‘Crisis on Earth-X’, will mine narrative beats from the upcoming animated series Freedom Fighters: The Ray. This means that DC’s small screen heroes will find themselves going up against their villainous selves from Earth-X, an alternate reality where the Nazis won World War II, which explains the existence of Nazi Supergirl and Green Arrow. Unfortunately, the alternate versions of our good guys could not come at a worse time with Barry and Iris’ long-awaited wedding set to be the stage these villains will crash.

During a recent set visit, Legends of Tomorrow star Brandon Routh opened up about his arc in this year’s DCTV special, as well as the intricate process of bringing all these popular characters to life in a two-night crossover event. During the conversation, he also teased one specific scene he claims will feature more than 20 superheroes:
“I have a limited adventure in the crossover, but I do get to work with a few people that we had a good time. The best thing that we got to do was the big gathering of everyone here in our world, on the Waverider, which was pretty awesome to have all of those superheroes together, and it was a really unique and fun thing, which I think the audience will like as well.

We used to get upset about having nine characters on the bridge and figuring out how to shoot that, but having 21 or whatever it was is pretty insane. But Greg Smith, who was our director for our episode, knew what he wanted pretty quick. You have to have your ducks in a row when doing a crossover because people are coming from four different shows, like, ‘We have Melissa for two hours and we have Grant for an hour, and we have Stephen for 30 seconds,’ so you’ve gotta get the shot!”
From the looks of it, Routh did not just pull that random number out of thin air as several other cast members have also said the same thing, with some even going up as high as 35 heroes on that bridge. What is unclear is if supporting characters who will make an appearance in the TV event are considered in the tally, otherwise, that must really be such a sight to behold and is something that fans of the four CW series will be looking forward to.
Chances are, however, that the jam-packed scene will not take place on the second night of the crossover as we expect this sequence to be the crowning glory of the four-show crossover. The synopsis for Crisis on Earth-X night one sounds like it is just going to set up the whole spectacle, starting with what appears to be Barry and Iris’ gatecrashed wedding.
[h=2]The CW’s special ‘Crisis On Earth-X’ Arrowverse event will air on Monday, November 27 and Tuesday, November 28.[/h]

wow the Deathstroke episodes were both amazing. I liked this one the most.

I wonder how come the writers can write Deathstroke so well while they completely shit on other characters.

These last two episodes brought back season 2 memories.

Oh man, the vigilante reveal was so anti-climatic. I expected more but oh well. The deathstroke episodes were so good, especially the flashbacks. I mean I know Arrow writers can write some good shit but I still don't get why are they hell bent on shitting on Laurel's characters so much. They are making Black Siren's character comically evil. I mean she was such a badass and last season she was a bit of anti-hero. She didn't want to hurt Quentin but now its totally opposite. She just joins anyone who takes her and saves her lol. I hope the writers get their shit together.

they fully tried making green arrow as batman for us on the tv but it failed miserably LOL the whole raas al ghul accepting oliver as his successor etc been there done that batman did it first... so they copied that and got the backlash for it.. so far what are they doing justice to comics :p not much but atleast the new black canary according to new 52 comics is good.
I mean they tried and until mid way through S3 I was onboard. I mean Oliver will never be Batman, but he was his own character and it was great. But man oh man did they shit the bed in that season. I mean Raas al Ghul is such an epic villain but boy did they screw up his character badly. S4 was just torture.

So um, did the entire fucking US forget that in the last crossover, Green Arrow prevented a fucking alien invasion and was thanked by the president? I mean, I have no idea where S6 is going. Everything is such a mess uptil now.

I mean after least season, this season has been mediocre, sure there have been plenty of positives but not that many. The episode was weird at times, Dig says he can become paralyzed and literally a couple of mins later Oliver is like so when are you gonna become GA lol. Black Siren's character is being butchered quite a bit too.

Holy fucking shit, the crossover was great until the end when everything came crashing the fuck down. I'm pretty fucking sure Arrow S6 is now gonna be S4 level bad. I was warming up to Felicity's character but man oh man did I rage during the crossover at her antics.
Spoiler: show
Loudly saying no to Oliver at the rehearsal aside, she fucking went and one upped Barry and Iris's wedding, I mean couldn't she fucking wait. It shows something wrong when the villain power couple who are LITERALLY FUCKING NAZIS is a healthier relationship than Olicity

S5 was so great, but Guggie has started to fuck with the show again. Honestly, the writers have really fucked Arrow up.

[h=1]Arrow Showrunner Says Blue Beetle & Booster Gold Have Been Considered for the Show[/h]

With lesser-known characters like Elongated Man and Gypsy now an important part of the CW’s Arrowverse shows, the possibility of two other much-loved DC heroes joining the ever-growing roster was raised again with Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim. His response confirmed that both Team Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow could have had a different team member, and that the future might still possibly see Blue Beetle and Booster Gold appear.
Booster Gold first appeared in DC comics in 1986, and has the civilian identity of Michael Jon Carter. Although he possesses no powers, he originates from 25th Century Earth and owns stolen gadgets from that era as well as the useful future knowledge. Starting as a glory-seeking jerk, he learns to become more heroic and noble as he adjusts to his new superhero status. Unlike Booster, Blue Beetle has several incarnations, including Dan Garrett and most recentlyJaime Reyes, who merged with alien technology and became a Teen Titan. Arguably the most well-known Beetle though is Ted Kord, a Bruce Wayne-like figure who was inspired to use his engineering genius to fight crime.

In the comics the two became best friends, and had plenty of wacky story arcs in the late 1980s/early 1990s version of Justice League from writers Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis. This led to the classic Blue & Gold team-ups, and a tone which would make them a natural fit for the Arrowverse. During a recent panel session at ACE Comic Con in Long Island, Comicbook reports that a fan directly asked Guggenheim if those characters were ever considered for Arrow or its sister shows. The showrunner gave this response:

“I will say, both those characters [Booster Gold and Blue Beetle] are characters we’ve talked about. Originally Ray Palmer, who was introduced on Arrow, he was supposed to be Ted Kord and we went another way. So, you know, Booster and Blue Beetle, all the ‘B’ characters really, we’re always talking about but nothing I can announce or speak to at the moment.”

It’s generally an open secret to fans of Arrow that Palmer (Brandon Routh) replaced an intended Kord, so the Legends could have theoretically had Beetle instead of The Atom on the Waverider. But the character and Kord Industries has definitely been mentioned in the past on those shows, so he does exist on Earth-1. On the other hand in comics continuity Rip Hunter is actually the future son of Booster as well as his mentor, so that could provide a way to introduce him on that show as well. Whilst it may never happen, it’s interesting to note that Guggenheim had a ready answer and that Blue Beetle and Booster Gold are clearly still on his radar.
In the meantime, there were reports about a Booster Gold movie being written last year, and a buddy-movie for both heroes was in development the year before that. Neither one of those projects have moved on though, and certainly aren’t any part of the DCEU at the moment. However, Booster and Jamie Reye’s Blue Beetle did appear in Season 10 of Smallville in 2011. So although there is no sign of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold in the Arrowverse at the moment, it’s certainly not impossible that fans will see them in future seasons on one of the shows.

[h=1]Colton Haynes Returning to Arrow for Season 6[/h]

Colton Haynes and his character Roy Harper are headed back to Arrow for a multi-episode arc when season 6 resumes. In the early days of Arrow, every nod to the comics was a source of excitement for fans. Since then, the sprawling Arrowverse has lost all shyness about mining its DC Comics source material for new characters and plots (the Crisis on Earth-X crossover is proof of that). However, there was a time when the addition of Roy Harper was a big deal.
Green Arrow’s main ally in the comics, Roy Harper has been Speedy, Red Arrow, and Arsenal, as he’s drifted across teams and dealt with all sorts of trauma. Arrow changed his story a bit, but still hit many of the same beats – and sure enough, Roy eventually suited up to join Team Arrow. Thanks to Colton Haynes’ acting career, Roy has taken multiple hiatuses from the series. Some fans have been hoping to see him show up on Legends of Tomorrow, but the same scheduling issues would arise from that proposal. Luckily, Haynes is always down to return to Arrow from time to time.

The CW has announced that Colton Haynes will be returning for an undisclosed number of episodes next year on Arrow season 6. His arc will kick off when Roy Harper returns for episode 15 of the season, and executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle are teasing some major implications for Thea as a result:

“We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper for a short arc on Arrow this year. Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences…”

To most people, Roy is considered the original Arrow, due to a rather convoluted scheme that cleared Oliver Queen’s name (though that hardly ever lasts long) and allowed a rebranding as Green Arrow. Though the move was motivated by Haynes’ desire to do other things, it still left a sour taste in the mouth of fans who were disappointed to see Arsenal go. And with Thea not even donning the costume, many have wondered what the future holds for both of Oliver’s former sidekicks.
The tease for Roy’s return arc seems to hint that Thea could finally get back in on the action. Though Willa Holland masterfully handles whichever role Thea is given, it’s hard to deny seeing her suit up again wouldn’t be exciting. As for Roy, could his comeback be permanent? Even if he doesn’t stick around, the tease from Guggenheim and Mericle certainly leaves the door open for Roy to, say, join Legends of Tomorrow, should Haynes decide to return to superhero TV for good.
The midseason premiere trailer for Arrow teased a villain team-up, meaning Team Arrow could certainly use some additional help for the time being. Of course, we will have to wait and see whether Roy and Haynes are back for good, but a more prominent Thea story will be a long time coming. And even if Arsenal’s return is only temporary – and even if he doesn’t suit up – there’s no denying fans will be excited to see Roy Harper back on Arrow.

Arrow
returns January 18 with ‘Divided’ on The CW.
