Confirms Exit From the Arrowverse[/h]

Spoiler: show
In the wake of Arrow‘s season 5 finale, John Barrowman has confirmed that he will not be returning next season. It wasn’t long after Smallville ended that The CW launched its new superhero universe, beginning with Arrow in 2012. The series needed a strong villain to go up against Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow (or the Hood, as he was known back then), and the series found that villain in Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn, aka the Magician/Dark Archer.
Merlyn not only opposed Oliver in the series’ first season, but he carried one of the most intriguing arcs throughout the entire Arrowverse. For instance, he came back from the dead, figuratively, and forced his daughter, Thea, to murder her friend. He has fought against and alongside the heroes of the Arrowverse on so many occasions that it’s almost hard to keep track. However, the most recent time he aided Oliver was in Arrow‘s season 5 finale, in which he joined him, Deathstroke, and Nyssa al Ghul in rescuing Oliver’s friends (as well as his daughter). Unfortunately, it cost him his life.
Malcolm Merlyn became the type of father to Thea that he should have been all along in the season 5 finale episode, ‘Lian Yu’. He sacrificed himself to save Thea and give everyone else a fighting chance at escaping the island. Given that this is a comic book show, and people have a habit of cheating death (not to mention the fact that he has done it once or twice), people may have assumed that Merlyn survived the landmine explosion. Unfortunately, that’s just wishful thinking. Barrowman confirmed on Instagram last night that he is officially departing Arrow.

Spoiler Alert! Part 2 of 2 again thanks for all the support over the last 5 years. Now look out for the USA revised autobiography. JB

Last month, it was reported that Barrowman wouldn’t be returning next season, but this video makes it official, especially considering last night’s episode. In the video, Barrowman talks about his upcoming projects and mentions that he will be discussing Arrow in one of his upcoming books, so to stay tuned for that. Here’s what he said specifically about his departure from the series:
“I am very sad to be leaving the Arrowverse. I love playing Malcolm Merlyn, and, you know, that’s it really. As sad as it may be, I understand how shows must change and also characters must change and develop, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not very sad and upset about it. So I appreciate your support and love you all. Thank you and keep watching.”

Over the years, Barrowman had expanded his role in the Arrowverse beyond the confines of the network’s flagship series. He recently joined the Legion of Doom throughout the second season of Legends of Tomorrow. While the actor will not be returning next season, there is always the chance that he could come back in the future as one of his doppelgangers. Virtually all of the shows in the Arrowverse have brought someone back one way or another. In fact, it’s a common trend throughout the network as a whole. Just as Barrowman says in his video, who knows what the future may hold?

Is this the best season yet?this was everything the fans could've asked for, even though I didn't really like Prometheus because he wasn't as scary as Death Stroke but the crazy side of him was epic,Deathstroke was terrifying even in this episode he looks terrifying with the mask,Prometheus' Suit didn't suit Adrian Chase,It would have suited Lance alot more when we thought he was prometheus,Adrian chase is a little too young for that terrifying suit, thats the only thing I didn't like in this season,The Vigilante's suit was perfect for Adrian Chase and I actually thought he was because of the perfection it had on adrian, thats why we all thought he was adrian, also they ditched Vigilante,He was very interesting and we could've had an awesome short storyline about him in this season instead of the wasted episodes like ep 19,20 or the ones before such as The Helix storyline which wasn't even interesting at all,There were some episodes that felt stretched over Prometheus,If only Arrow utilised Vigilante's story as well as make Curtis less Cringy(Those t-spheres are hilarious and look fake),If only Arrow used as much less CGI as possible, this could challenge Marvel's Netflix shows(I'm serious),The Flash isnt going good because the story was bad but also because they use too much CGI in their episodes that it looks really fake,it was balanced in Season 1 and look very good especially Reverse Flash scenes before he was revealed as the Man in The Yellow Suit, thats all i gotta say, some might agree with me.This is an awesome example, just the feeling i had in that scene is something i havent had in 2 seasons of the flash

Yeah Adrian Chase as a character was way better than the character Prometheus

Yeah agreed, Adrian Chase is better unmasked. Prometheus wasn't that interesting alone.

Adrian Chase was a good villain, I hope Season 6 has an interesting villain. I hope it's not that Helix leader 'Cayden James'.

Since S5 ended on cliffhanger, I'm assuming we will see Slade again in the Season 6 premiere, to know where the character goes next.

Would be cool. Manu Bennett returning as Slade, and Colton returning as Roy Harper. Ber

But since its not on the cw network, and will launch on a new dc comics streaming service, it's likely that Titans won't be part of the arrowverse. Lets hope Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns do the right thing.

Arrow Season 6 Synopsis released by CW Network few days ago:

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy). Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”. Based on the characters from DC, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Supergirl”), Marc Guggenheim (“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Eli Stone”), Wendy Mericle (“Desperate Housewives,” “Eli Stone”), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash,” “Eli Stone,” “Warehouse 13”) and Sarah Schechter (“The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”).

The bolded part is interesting. I wonder which unexpected enemies from Oliver's past....the Bratva? Season 5 theme was legacy...I'm guessing Season 6 theme will be Family...( fast and furious anyone? )

Some new info for Arrow Season 6

-Season 6 will have the usual time jump over the summer, and they will tell the story of what happens on the island in flashback after the S5 cliffhanger, in the Season 6 Premiere episode.

- Stephen Amell confirmed Season 6 theme is 'Family'. Expect to see more William too probably.

- Josh Seggra, the guy who played Adrian Chase teased there is a surprise, that we may see him again. I'm assuming Adrian Chase's twin brother? He's a good actor, so im glad they are keeping josh around.

‘Arrow’ Star Katie Cassidy Teases Black Siren/White Canary Encounter In Season 6

While we have seen Arrow’s Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) encounter the Earth-2 version of his daughter Dinah Laurel Lance a.k.a. the Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), Siren has yet to meet the Earth-1 version of her little sister Sara Lance who in this reality is better known as the White Canary. Supposedly the leader of the Legends of Tomorrow still doesn’t even know about the existence of Siren on Earth-1 since she has been traveling through time for the past two seasons.

But it appears that the Lance sisters of two worlds will be introduced to each other in the next season of Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. At the recent Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in London, Cassidy talked a little bit about Earth-1 Sara meeting Earth-2 Laurel and what that dynamic might be like.

“I think that’s something we’ll definitely get to see next season… The different relationships, how each character will react. I don’t know how Black Siren will react… I think she’s very mysterious.”

Black Siren lost her Sara about ten years ago back on Earth-2 when Robert Queen was the one that came home from Lian Yu instead of Oliver Queen and Sara as they didn’t survive. It was also implied in the mid-season premiere of Season 5 that this Laurel had lost her Quentin (and maybe even her mother) at some point before coming to Earth-1. We saw in one of the recent episodes that she has a soft spot for this version of father as she was only willing to help Adrian if he promised her that Quentin would remain unharmed, hinting that maybe something bad happened to Earth-2 Quentin years ago.

“After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea.

Arrow Season 6 will begin sometime in October on its new timeslot at Thursday nights at 9/8c on The CW.

[h=1]Arrow Season 6: Stephen Amell Confirms Deathstroke’s Return[/h]

Stephen Amell confirms that Manu Bennett will return to season 6 of Arrow as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. Nobody gets along with Oliver Queen all the time. During the previous five seasons of Arrow, there were times when even those closest to him – like Felicity, Diggle, and Thea – seemed as though they might never speak to him again. But out of all of Ollie’s friendships that seemed destroyed forever, his history with Slade Wilson absolutely takes the cake.
When Slade and Ollie met on Lian Yu, they quickly became not only friends, but allies. They helped keep each other alive as they struggled to survive and even escape the island. But when Slade blamed Oliver for the death of their companion Shado, their friendship seemed gone forever. Slade’s mirakuru rage and lost eye only added fuel to the fire, and suddenly one of Ollie’s closest companions had become the big bad of season 2. Only for them to have achieved a new alliance in the final episode of season 5.
[h=3]Related: Stephen Amell Calls Deathstroke Greatest Arrow Villain[/h]When season 6 begins in the fall, it sounds like Slade will be a part of it. As reported by TVLine, Stephen Amell recently appeared at Heroes & Villains FanFest in Nashville and spoke about what fans can expect in the upcoming season. And the biggest bomb he dropped was that Slade’s return wasn’t just a one-off, Manu Bennet will be bringing the character back:
“I can report that Manu Bennett is back to being a part of the show, and I think we will see him multiple times this year, which is awesome.”

Of course, Amell neglected to mention whether Slade’s return is as friend or foe. With their history, either is certainly possible. Slade has saved Ollie’s life a few times, and may be the reason that some or all of his friends survive the mass explosions on Lian Yu that made up the season 5 cliffhanger. But he also killed Ollie’s mother, kidnapped Thea, and poisoned Roy Harper with mirakuru. When virtually everyone he loved was at risk, Ollie was willing to overlook all that. But once the current crisis has ended, whether Ollie is able to forgive Slade remains to be seen.
Of course, that is also assuming that Slade’s appearances take place in the present. Many have assumed that the flashbacks Arrow is famous for will be greatly reduced or even stop completely – now that Ollie’s five missing years have been accounted for. But Amell confirms that they are not gone after all: “They are a part of the show’s DNA, I would expect to see them on a relatively regular basis.” So Slade might not survive the island, or might not return to Star City even if he does. His presence may very well be in the flashbacks – where the character was first introduced.
Slade’s continued presence and the ongoing flashbacks were not the only hints Amell dropped. He also mentioned the return of two things. Apparently, Ollie is going to have an apartment this season, something he has not had in a good long while. And someone long gone is coming back: “We have somebody returning to the show this year that we have not seen since season 1.”
When prompted to tell two truths and one lie about the upcoming season premiere, he mentioned three things happening – all of which are equally possible: “Oliver and Slade have a scene in the present day; Diggle… deploys his gun and it doesn’t work; and Thea is in a present-day scene where we speak to one another.” In order to find out which of those three events is a lie, fans will have to tune into the sixth season premiere of Arrow.

‘Fallout’
, the season 6 premiere of Arrow will air at 9pm Thursday October 12 on The CW.

[h=1]How Flashbacks Will Work in Arrow Season 6[/h]

Arrow star Stephen Amell has provided new information regarding the use of flashbacks in season 6 given the recent wrap-up of Oliver Queen’s five years on the island of Lian Yu. The season 5 finale ended on a huge cliffhanger with Lian Yu exploding while most of Team Arrow was still on the island. While there was no definite indication of a casualties, fans are already eager to know what happened and how it will affect the events of the show moving forward.
For a time, it was assumed that flashbacks will no longer be a storytelling device for Arrow given the conclusion of Oliver’s five-year arc. But it turns out the show still has plans to incorporate flashbacks, as ti will with the season 6 premiere. But what about beyond that?
As reported by Comicbook.com, while appearing at this weekend’s Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Nashville, Amell revealed that Arrow season 6 premiere will include a flashback to Lian Yu right after it exploded:

“There are flashbacks in the first episode that take us back to the immediate aftermath of the events in the finale. Which is one of the reasons that I had to shave my beard, so I could match up with [the finale].”

That said, flashbacks will be minimized in the long run and will not always be about Oliver. Meaning, we could also get back stories on other Team Arrow members and maybe other characters as well:
“There are no flashbacks in the second episode. You know how occasionally over the course of five seasons, typically it’s been Oliver’s flashback? Sometimes there have been episodes where there’s no flashbacks, and sometimes we’ve had flashbacks where we focus in on Diggle or Felicity or Renee. I think that’s what will happen this year, that we will have the occasional flashback. We’re not telling a linear story anymore about Oliver’s time on the island. We’ve brought that one full circle.”

Arrow co-exec producer Marc Guggenheim, previously teased the matter, saying that with the Lian Yu storyline almost over, the show will no longer have to incorporate flashbacks in season 6. Although at that point in time, he also said that they are not totally closing the door on it and might use the storytelling device if the narrative that they will be treading calls for it.
Season 6 premiere episode title has recently been revealed as ‘Fallout’ with filming officially well underway. While Arrow will be a little bit jarring without any flashbacks given that a lot of its present day stories somehow linked to Oliver’s past in Lian Yu, the change in direction might be a great way to infuse new and fresh themes in the series to keep fans interested.

Good trailer. Dat Oliver and Slade handshake.

Excited for new season because of more Slade this season, but at the same time I'm scared of more Olicity crap. I hope they write olicity in a mature manner and similar to S1/S2.

I don't have much interest in season as it is said that Oliver and Felicity will get married in this season so any desire to watch arrow after that fantastic ending vanished for me.
