This has to be one of the most hard hitting movies I have seen for ages. If I had to use one word to sum up American History X, it would be "powerful". This is the kind of film that is missing in the current film environment that is usually based more around flash than substance, ie special effects and a physically attractive cast are commonly used to win over audiences as opposed to a solid plot containing powerful messages that actually might make you think. I saw this movie last night and it is a fascinating insight into the insecurity of young people and their desire to belong to something, to feel accepted. I believe this theme is equally as prevalent as the denunciation of racism throughout the film. Edward Norton, as usual, was flawless. Special mention to Edward Furlong too .

Synposis:-
"Based on a series of true stories posted by Ho-sik Kim on the Internet describing his relationship with his girlfriend. These were later transformed into a best-selling book and the movie follows the book closely. It describes the meeting of Kyun-woo (Cha) and an unnamed girl. Kyun-woo is shamed into assisting the girl because the other passengers mistakenly think she is his girlfriend. Once he helps her, Kyun-woo develops a deep sense of responsibility for her which enables him to tolerate (somehow) the girls abuses."

An original effort from Korea which is way way better then most of the crap that Hollywood shoves down each year. This was a perfect romantic movie full of comedy and charming moments. It stays true to it's source rather then going all out Hollywood style. I have read the guy's journal online who posted all this and the film accurately depicted the events with only minor alterations. I still can't understand what was the charm in this movie, i have seen countless Romantic movies but this one stood out by far. It has it's certain kind of charm besides the actors really fulfilled their roles quite nicely. Loved the on screen couple specially Gianna Jun was so cute that i was in love with her throughout the movie:love1(Beside i dig Asian Chicks :p). This movie was funny at one time, emotional at other time and manages to blend this all so well that we barely notice it. Don't take this movie as romantic comedy, it also has it's share of emotion. Every romance/comedy lover must ABSOLUTELY see this movie without any doubt. It deserves all it's hype.

Re-watched it for the umpteenth time. Still makes me laugh hard and hasn't lost it's charm. One of the best romantic comedy ever period.

wow damn i missed this before but no harm :) better than never eh, well i like adrian brodys acting so downloaded this and it was a pleasent surprise :D awesome twistful movie, inceptions twist doesnt stand a chance in the end after u watch this :D THREE ALTERNATE ENDINGS HAHA

CRAZY STUPID love: 7/10
haha quite some laughs, steve carrel that guy is hilarious and ryan gosling, hes turning out to be a rise TO FAME guy recently... good acting, good looks, good future :)

well ok medieval times movie, seriously the girl in the beginning looked like a transexual :S SERIOUSLY


batman year one: 8.5/10
AWESOME movie man, MUST WATCH FOR BATMAN FANS... i have the comic with me aswell, gonna read it soon so i found out what exactly they left out from the animated movie, gordon was more badass than batman in this one :D well its to be since he was in his prime and batman just starting out.

I thought it would be kinda serious movie like "The Fighter".. But sigh, another childish movie. Weak story, and I like Hugh Jackman more on serious roles rather than fooling around... Predictable, foolish, but yet, because of Hugh, it was timepass.

Watched it last night, i think the story was kinda different..childish but different...nicely done....

good old fashioned orgy: dunno the lead actor's name but he's doing weird movies these days :S and not impressed with this movie at all 3/10

A Separation (2011)

Quite the best film I've seen this year, these type of films are often unheard and rare to find, but it has created a lot of buzz in media of being the contender for "Best Foreign Film" in Oscars. (Iran! I hope you win)

I don't know what else to say, since I am speechless. It's hard to explain about the complexity of this drama, the screenplay was very well written, with the main focus on the character development.

If you haven't seen it already, you are definitely missing "the big picture".

wow good fighting movie, the first part was nice this is kinda good too ! 4 new guys all have different stories, kewl

the revenant: 7.5/10
w0w this movie surprised me ! its a B GRADE horror movie but A REALLY GOOD ONE AT THAT... recommend to all zombie/horror fans... good story man seriously

the reunion: 6.5/10

surprisingly john cena did not suck in this movie haha, the other bro the same age as john cena was funny hehe. good movie

Watched a few new flicks:

Real Steel: 8.8/10 ... Really good movie overally .. The idea of robots boxing is super-cool ! The basic story setup isn't very 'new', but still it works because of the futuristic robots setting .. Highly Recommended, and this would definitely be coming to a Bluray store near you very soon !! ;) .. The only sad thing is that there's no 3D bluray release for this movie, which would've been really awesome ..

50/50: 8.5/10 ... Another awesome movie .. Has a nice comedic, yet emotional take on how cancer patients deal with their cancer, and how their life is affected by it ... Top notch acting from Joseph Gordon Hewitt .. Another highly recommended flick !

The Debt: 7/10 ... It would say its an average thriller, but there's not as much action as I thought there would be .. It was a little slow at times too, and the portions showing the past was better than the one showing the present .. Watch this if no better option is available ..

The Drive: 6/10 ... Didn't really like this movie much ... I dont see why many sites have given this movie such high ratings ... I thought it would be something like the Transporter, but its actually a pretty slow movie, about a guy whose character is kinda confused on what he wants to do ...

I also saw "A Separation" after Ottoman's review and absolutely loved it. Usually, i don't like the choice of movies of Ottoman but after his review and watching the trailer + reading synopsis, i got interested and needless to say that it was well worth the time.

@ahmedka: i saw real steel in the cinema, after watching it i kinda felt surprisingly good, i mean the movies good overall everything, drama,story,humour and stuff... ohh and bad ass action :d transformer style... hehe just a bit little but that just goes to show " size doesn't matter :p "
