Donno i m lost!!
half way through...the game is much much better than the last one but also more brutal too. its like a dark souls of FPS with the same feelings of satisfaction. story is typical wolfenstein bonkers but much more involving this time and damn the facial animation is amazing. id tech has evolved into one the most visually impressive engines out there and it silky smooth performance is second to none. its surprising how much i love this game even though new order bored me a lot.

So I never played the first one. Should I jump straight into this or play the other one first?
Play the first game I'd say. Its story driven with returning characters so it'll be a much better experience.

Some screens from my playthrough so far. Id Tech 6 is just phenomenal.

Some screens from the PS4 Pro version. I didn't want to take anything from any of the story moments because everyone needs to experience this game.

[h=1]Here’s when you can play Wolfenstein 2’s three DLC packs[/h]
[h=2]Three add-ons in four months[/h]

Three add-ons are on the way for Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, and we now know when we’ll be able to continue the rebellion against Nazi dominance. Publisher Bethesda Softworks announced release dates for two of the three downloadable content packs, all of which make up the game’s $24.99 season pass.
Wolfenstein 2’s first post-launch DLC pack, The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe, is set to be released Dec. 14. The Diaries of Agent Silent Death will follow six weeks later on Jan. 30, 2018. There’s no concrete release date for the third and final add-on, The Amazing Deeds of Captain Wilkins; Bethesda said only that it plans to release that DLC pack in March. The company has confirmed that it will be possible to buy the three DLC packs individually, although it has yet to announce pricing.

Each add-on in The Freedom Chronicles stars a different American resistance fighter. Here are the synopses from Bethesda, which says the four DLC packs (including the prologue, “Episode Zero”) will offer more than nine hours of additional content:

  • The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe: As former professional quarterback Joseph Stallion, smash through Nazi hordes from the ruins of Chicago to the vastness of space!
  • The Diaries of Agent Silent Death: As ex-OSS agent and assassin Jessica Valiant, infiltrate Nazi bunkers in California and discover the secrets of Operation San Andreas!
  • The Amazing Deeds of Captain Wilkins: As the US Army’s renowned hero Captain Gerald Wilkins, embark on a mission to Nazi-controlled Alaska to dismantle Operation Black Sun!
Stallion, Valiant and Wilkins are all characters in a set of pulp novels in the Wolfenstein universe — in other words, they’re fictional characters in the game’s fiction. Except they’re totally not, since you’ll be able to play as them in Wolfenstein 2’s DLC! You can check out all three characters in “Episode Zero,” which is available now for season pass holders and people who pre-ordered Wolfenstein 2.
The art for The Freedom Chronicles, which you can see above, features the logo for Escalation Studios — suggesting that the Dallas-based studio is working on theWolfenstein 2 DLC alongside developer MachineGames. Escalation, which Bethesda acquired in February 2017, previously worked on multiplayer elements for a number of id Software games such as Doom and Rage.

[h=1]Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus hits Nintendo Switch in June[/h]
[h=2]Murder Nazis on the go[/h]

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will be released June 29 on Nintendo Switch, publisher Bethesda Softworks announced today.
You can see the Switch version in action in its first official trailer above.
Bethesda once again partnered with Austin, Texas-based Panic Button to bring one of the publisher’s games to the Switch. Panic Button also handled the Switch port of id Software’sDoom, which was released in November.
The port of Doom struggles to maintain 720p HD resolution even when the Switch is docked, and performance sometimes drops below 30 frames per second (which is half the frame rate of the other versions). But the general consensus is that it’s a technical marvel that Doom can run on the Switch at all, and since it and Wolfenstein 2 run on the same engine, fans have some idea of what to expect with the Switch port of MachineGames’ Nazi -killing first-person shooter.

[h=1]This is how Wolfenstein 2 was crammed onto the Nintendo Switch[/h]

[h=2]The hard work that goes into great ports[/h]

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus on the Nintendo Switch is the full game, although some liberties had to be taken visually to make it possible.
The levels haven’t been made smaller, nor have the visual techniques employed to craft the game’s aesthetic been removed. The port is very good, as we’ve discussed before, but the latest breakdown from Digital Foundry goes into deep detail about what it took to make that happen. You can watch the video at the top of this post; it’s interesting stuff, especially if you’re curious about how other graphically ambitious games may fit onto the Switch.
So if the Switch port of Wolfenstein 2 didn’t get smaller, and it still looks like the original, how in the hell did the porting team at Panic Button manage to pull it off?
“The game itself is intact, but achieving this on Switch has required a particular philosophy — specifically, the prioritization of rendering features over resolution,” John Linneman at Digital Foundry explained. “The end result is a game that is remarkably close to the existing versions, but it’s also the blurriest game of the generation thus far — but the how and why is worth exploring. For starters, like Doom, Wolfenstein 2 utilizes an adaptive resolution feature that adjusts pixel count based on load.”

The good news is that it was the right decision; you’ll certainly notice the lack of sharpness, but the game still looks great — especially in portable mode — and feels responsive enough at a relatively steady 30 frames per second that I never got mad at the controls or frame rate.
And that could only happen in a game like this on the Switch if the developer were willing to take the resolution low. The resolution in Wolfenstein 2’s Switch port dips down to 640 by 360, according to Digital Foundry, and this porting philosophy takes a fair amount of guts. Panic Button is betting that the visuals and smoothness of the play itself will make up for the fuzziness of those sub-HD resolutions.
The video shows a few other tricks used to get the game running this well, including walls that block your sight line and a few windows that are closed rather than open, but this is a version of Wolfenstein 2 that’s a lot of fun to play straight through on the Switch. That’s a huge accomplishment, and learning how Panic Button pulled it off makes it even more fun to play.

    if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
