Realistically if someone were to start a new Electric company......
tightly controlled and offered only in upper class and posh areas.......

and then slowly expand to upper middle class areas.

A. They could easily eliminate load shedding......
B. Their prices would even be cheaper per unit.

Producing electricity is EASY and cheap.....

KESC and WAPDA are failing because of A. ELECTRICITY THEFT in HUGE quantities and B. Corruption
Load shedding is a consequence of BUDGET DEFICIT..... NOT production capabilties.

Honestly JAAHILs kay saath larna over electricity is FUTILE.....

Why not start a company that only offers services to people who can pay?

to any who think im being "racist" against poor....

im not.... if they can pay then all well and good....

But in poor communities 90%+ of electricity is through THEFT..... and there MUST be a way to stop this.
being POOR does NOT justify theft

@OP
Sir starting an electric company is not an easy job. It requires a lot of money and many legal procedures. No one in Pakistan will start an electric company. It's the foreign investors who have tons of money can invest and start a electric company. But due to law and order situation of the country no foreign investor is interested in investing his money. So all we are left with is govt controlled organization.

in a free market where everyone was allowed to produce & sell electricity, the problem of loadshedding & overbilling would have been solved many years earlier
but the govt has a huge monopoly in the power sector protected by a huge no. of rules & regulations, as a result IPPs cannot sell electricity directly to consumer, & on the other end the consumer has no choice. as a result gross inefficiency, corruption & circular debt

an ideal solution would be that WAPDA/PEPCO etc maintain the role of a check & balance authority, & rent out their grid system to IPPs who would compete with each other to provide electricity on a district-to-district basis. local bodies elected by popular vote would decide which company provides them the most affordable/reliable package. the role of a govt agency would be only to prevent monopolization/cartel formation etc
this way, each company strives to give the best price for the most reliability, uses modern tech to avoid theft, consumers choose what is best for them, everyone is happy
as for the question that who will invest in power infrastructure, imo a lot of people would be interested; there's a lot of profit in it

finally, will this happen? Never-mainly coz govt officials & elected representatives r so deep in the sh*t that they will never allow any reform that ends their share of the pie. every person involved in the system, starting from line man to the very top has a share in the system. a recent example is the reluctance of wapda from replacing current meters with modern ones that will be connected to a network & the lineman will be eliminated. WAPDA has the meters & the infrastructure but the only reason it is not happening is that this would eliminate corruption at the lineman level

Yeah businessman in China are truely willing to invest in PK infrastructure for cut of the profits but corrupt govt will never let them.
I've even heard proposals of subway systems like those made in india were proposed by chinese companies... for the profits for several years they will make it for free?.... i dunno if those are rumors but it seems their are plenty of investors but corrupt system is the main problem

The thing your asking , requires huge investment , and security , they have to build there own plants here and give supply , plus security of lines and pipes ,
rival Wapda and KESC are gonna F up there lines and pipes .

Seeing current Pakistan situation this thing cant happen , unless we start doing things fair in next 20 years

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.
