WhatsApp Web Goes Live For Android Users
(BlackBerry And Windows Phone Too, But Not iOS)
The web service has been officially announced on WhatsApp's blog. It relies on the mobile WhatsApp application as the authenticator through a QR code authorization. The process seems to require mirroring messages from the mobile app to the web, even when the app is running in the background, and Apple's platform has a limitation somewhere along the way.
HOW TO USE IT?
- You need the latest version of the app from the Play Store, v 2.11.498 (If you don't find the update in your "MyApps" in Android PlayStore, try finding it manually. It showed me "Update" button there --- If it doesn't appear there and you're running this version, try force closing the app and restarting it ).
- Head over to web.whatsapp.com on your computer's browser.
- A QR code will be generated for you to scan with the phone (Once this authentication is complete, you're in)
