Honestly I am excited for the new series but cant comment much to these benchmarks, so lets wait for the actual reviews.

I would not form opinions until I see it in actual machine performing. AMD pulled this gimmiky presentation in the past with A10 4xxx and 5xxx APUs too despite they drastically failed on the delivery of processor-level performance. Moreover, this is perhaps the first time they contained TDP by about 30% margin than top of the shelf Skylakes. Lets hope they reveal something which is promising enough to make me turn back to building a whole AMD machine instead of compromising for TDP over performance. Price-to-Performance ratio is still there but can AMD contain the temperatures of its oven while cooking? Only one way to find out.

AMD RyZEN Performance Leak - Competing with Intel i7 6900K

French tech print magazine "Canard PC" is ready with early benchmarks of an AMD Ryzen 8-core processor. The scan of a page from its Ryzen performance review article got leaked to the web, revealing three key performance takeaways. In the first selection of tests, Canard PC put Ryzen through synthetic CPU-intensive tests that take advantage of as many CPU cores/threads as you can throw at them. These include the likes of H.264 and H.265 video encoding, WPrime, Blender, 3DSMax 2015, and Corona. Ryzen was found to be faster than the quad-core Core i7-6700K, and the six-core i7-6800K, but somewhere between the i7-6800K and the eight-core i7-6900K.

In the final segment, the reviewers tested the power-consumption of the processor. AMD rates the TDP of the Ryzen 8-core chip at 95W, which was desperately needed from a chip built on the 14 nm node. Here it was noted that Ryzen made a tremendous performance/Watt leap over the 32 nm FX-8370 "Vishera." It consumes 93W, just under the 96W consumed by the Core i7-6900K eight-core chip, and slightly more than the 85W consumed by the 22 nm Core i7-4790K "Devil's Canyon" quad-core chip. The 14 nm i7-6800K six-core chip draws 83W, and the quad-core 14 nm i7-6700K draws 62W.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

It is indeed the worst generation by far.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Still, I wonder why the PC Gamer rated it worse than Gollum. 🤔

Gradually transitioning from console gaming to PC as the games are not worth it. 6 hours of Hellblade 2 is just not worth the $50 price tag.
Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
