So now that AMD has finally unveiled the performance figures of Ryzen, I'm quite impressed actually. Its going toe-to-toe with a 6900K without boost and at 95W TDP. Which is fucking awesome. I believe rumors are placing the price around $400, which would be a steal considering 6900k retails for $1100. Although we didn't get to see HT and SMT in action, I'm still quite pleased with how Ryzen is turning out to be.

What do you guys think about it?

Except, they deliberately matched it with 6900k to somehow prove their tiny little point.
I'll believe the performance more when they actually match it against a mainstream processor instead of a enthusiast grade one.

Otherwise, intel will still rule. :D

Fuck Intel's monopoly man [emoji14]
While I do agree. I'm still not jumping the gun considering they pulled the same shit with Bulldozer but Ryzen is exciting times even if they proved their tiny point [emoji14]

the new amd cpu destroyed a 6900k which is a usd 1200 dollar cpu ---there new vega gpu destroyed a 1080 in 4k in doom --and if you read it --it destroys it -

if they price the amd cpu at usd 350-400 mark --its a instant hit for sure its a 8 core cpu ...

i saw some videos on youtube about there new cpu ---its basically ppl and reviwers talking who saw it --it will launch soon enough --but beating a 6900k out right in nearly all cpu based benchmarks speaks a lot .

Wccftech shared some videos on YouTube and from the demo it seems quite a serious punch in intel's face
more than beating 6900k, what is more surprising how AMD managed a 16 threads Octa-core processor in just 95watts TDP, thats almost 30% less than 6900k (140watts) at 14nm. That's quite a an impressive achievement.
Earlier we have already seen how RX 4xx gpus r performing n how much power they require and now same engineering excellence if is coming to processors then Intel will have to do some serious stuff. I dont remember Intel surprised us in last decade with anything as good (even on paper) as Ryzen/Zen (whatever) is doing. I dont think it will sell around $300-$400, if its competing 6900k (which im still not sure) then AMD can price it around n above $500 in start and can bring it down like always.

Having said all this, logically it cant out perform 6900k in majority of the applications which are optimized for 8 cores n above. It has 4mb less cache than 6900k, also just supports dual channel memory vs quad channel so i dont think it will be faster in every app.

I'm very excited for this series. I might go for the 6 core version, but I'll wait till the actual reviews are out. Performance/watt is very important for me, so I'm gonna look very closely at this one.

AMD worked their asses off on Ryzen, and I'm quite excited about it. It will be a major leap over Bulldozer and others. Intel basically stagnated their developments and the performance leaps weren't too great, hell I'm still running a 3rd-gen i5. Hopefully this pushes Intel to speed up R&D.

oh im sick of intel's tick tock ... only observable performance jumps i saw were from pentiums to dual cores n quad cores ... and then to ist gen i7 9xx with hyper threading and x58 chipset and since then it was just baby steps ... real performance gains they kept it very expensive so AMD can end intel's monopoly if their price is right

Although I am quite excited but still cant comment prior to actual benchmarks. AMD Bulldozer was hyper in a similar fashion but unfortunately, none of the applications or games came out that could actually take the processor to its potential making it a mediocre Intel counterpart.
Lets wait and find out.
