Can we Sue Facebook for This act.
If Cyber Crimes occur in the world then i assume the existance of Cyber Laws as well.
Any law againt RELIGIOUS mockery ?
Nope you can't. Though what could be done is that ALL groups which have hateful or discriminatory be shut down. Every group that is anti-anything could be shut down.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I just want to say this:

They have a point.

This thing Muslims are doing with death threats and such... is just another form of terrorism. If someone paints a picture of prophet Muhammad, who gave YOU the right to kill them? Who are YOU to decide who gets to live and who gets to die? You're threatening to kill them for something so trivial.

And before someone brings up the "wots yer religion??" bullshit. LOOK, I AM OFFENDED BY THESE PICTURES TOO. I DON'T LIKE THEM. THEY'RE EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL, IF ANYTHING.

BUT it does not mean I'm going to kill the person for doing it. Why? Because they have the right to do what they want. They're not stopping ME from being a Muslim, so why should I stop THEM from doing what they want?

This boycott thing won't make a difference, since the point that they're trying to make is still a valid one. People will continue to draw pictures of prophet Muhammad even IF the group gets deleted. Facebook isn't the end of the world, peeps.

I suggest doing this: ignore facebook until the hype dies down. That way, you won't be offended by anything, the point will be made, the world will continue to rotate on its axis and everyone wins. How about that?

The shit really hit the fan when this person started posting anti-Jew jokes and holocaust humor. All of this was extremely horrible to come across because the person was a Muslim.. This happened two nights ago around 3 am. After that it was a retaliation. Honestly, one person was going about saying "By the grace of Allah, I'm going to ass-rape everyone here". When did Allah provide Muslims permission to rape people?
You been doing a good job,and i praise you for that. Then again they are united against us,and we are not united. As you say,one Muslim said something out of desperation or disgust and all of them huddled together against him.Sam thing should be done by us.May not be a big thing to do,deactivating FB account on 20th.But it will show them our unity and it will make a difference.
Saying ass rape and rude words like that doesn't help, and who ever did that shouldn't have done it.

@Spidermonkey Some people get carried away. They think it's okay to swear at those who swear at them. What they do is do something Islam forbids and they create a bad image of Islam in the process. That is what the haters want to promote their agenda. The way you are defending the image of Islam is certainly a noble thing to do. May Allah reward you for your efforts. Keep it up! (y)

It was not one person bro!!!! I can count the number of people who were doing things to control the situation from out side. That was how bad the situation was. The number of people who started posting surahs and swearing at people was innumerable. When someone adopts an attitude of "Holier Than Thou", everyone would feel insulted.

I have about 35 death threats in my Facebook inbox. I'M A MUSLIM!!!! WTH did i do to anyone besides try to defuse a situation?!?!

Imagine how bad the situation from our side was if I'm getting death threats

I'd like to add to Arsal on one point.
When the Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie were released, Ayotallah Khomeini ordered Rushdie's death. It was proven by Fiqh that Khomeini was not allowed to issue a Fatwa for someone's death. People have to be brought to a court of law to defend themselves. This was the Fiqh statement

@Sarim....Thank you for saying that. I just feel it's a slap to the muslim communities face how one person badmouthing everyone else would destroy all our reputation as a whole

Welcome to the club :)

Theres one very important thing taught to us by our peers and teachings. "Husne Tadbeer" or in other words common sense. What good is it in reciting verses from the Quraan to people who don't even believe in that book.It will only make the situation worse. People understand you if you talk to them in their language, and their language is logic and reasoning.
But as i said, boycotting face book on or from 20th may wont stop the earth's rotation. But will make a strong statement about how we feel when they insult our religious icons in the name of free speech.

As far as i know, youtube was not hacked it was officially diverted into a balckhole by PTCL's Pakistani internet hubs or routers. These things can be done on Government level.Every country can do that.
Hacking will be a negative activity, and even if FB doesn't care about Muslims...so many members vanishing for the same cause will send a strong message.

As long as it's a peaceful, non-threatening, non-violent protest, it's a great way to express how Muslims feel.

But who are we kidding really? That's never going to happen. In fact, I bet you facebook is going to be permanently banned in Pakistan soon...

First thing is that we should be positive not negative. We are not fighting a war by deactivating FB,or leaving it.It wont be the end of the world scenario. We only want to make a strong statement and that's all.Neither are we propagating any hatred.By all means human life and human beings are respectable. Its just that they are doing certain thing that we don't like, but we don't hate them.
FB is just another website out of millions ,and governments can block any website for their internet users if they feel that the website is in any way inappropriate. Its nothing illegal or nothing new.Happens all the time around the world.Dont we get message from Google saying that certain website may be harmful for your compute and thats why they are blocking it? Actually they block websites for all sorts of reason and say that its because of malicious content. So yes its by all means legal and appropriate if Pakistan feels that certain website in not good for their nationals for any reason, they can block it.

First thing I'll do when I'll come to Zardari's post :D

And yeah we should quite using it as the money we give by logging in to the advertisements will be cut off. Atleast we can do this little bit of thing though it'll not effect at large scale.

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
