actually ur not too far off...the game was lauded for being almost CG quality even back when it was released on the PS4. from my POV, the pro has a slight better AA solution. texture quality and any other graphics related settings look same as the regular ver.

It also runs at a much higher native rez, which doesn't show because of my 1080p screenshots but yeah the game does look superb. Probably one of the most underrated visual gems of this generation so far. Everyone's lauding the Uncharted's and the The Order's only because this game has more of a cartooney aesthetic. In terms of IQ, visual fidelity and particle effect, this game is right up there with the best of this generation.

Chandoo your consistent posting in this thread finally tipped me over to get a pro. And for apparently no reason at all but a keera to upgrade.

Hell yeah ! You're going to love the upgrade. Not every single pre-Pro release game will be patched, but those that were, will be that much better for you now. And then you have all future releases having some kind of upgrades over OG PS4 to look forward too.

Well that was the DIL RAKHNAY wala rationale before i bought that damn 52k machine. Btw correct me I'm wrong is Horizon planned to be 1080p 60fps for the pro ?

No, checkered 4K / 30fps with HDR and damn, 52k is way higher if you do a dollar to rupee radio, should be more like 40k PKR.

RE7 PS4 vs Pro

Base game is 1080p but there is a very clear resolution boost in the Pro version.

Game looks promising too. Visually starts off like The Evil Dead and devolves into Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Aesthetically and visually this is the revamp RE needed after that many same-ish games. Here's hoping the bargain pays off for Capcom.

holy crap the image quality looks bad, chromatic aberration is the single most useless technique thats gaining popularity among developers. PS4 demo didn't have the option to turn it off.

Got PT/Silent Hill vibes from it, liked what I played of it.

You'll be happy to know only the first 10 mins of the game take place in a bright sunny time frame, where the CA appears visible, afterwards it all takes place in dark/night time environments where the CA takes a back seat and lighting and atmosphere takes center stage.

This is a game non-RE players would enjoy as well. It's like Alien Isolation minus the singular insta-kill Alien and with some actual puzzles.

Save the cash and buy the OG PS4 , there is literally no difference between the two. I have a PRO and i felt no difference between this and my Fat PS4 (which died unfortunately). I too had the same keera (who unfortunately won in the end).

The only game where i felt a TINY bit of difference was Titan Fall 2 , and that too was when there were like 6-7 Titans on screen (it stutters a bit on my OG PS4). With Pro its smoth. But that`s about it .

Pro upgrades are trivial at best. You'd see bigger changes moving to the PC version of multiplats than going from OG PS4 to Pro, regardless of the resolution. Pro would've been a great deal if it could do 1080p60fps in games which are running at 30fps on OG PS4.

Which games have you played on the Pro and do you have a 1080p TV or a 4K TV ?

edit: I meant if you're playing an unpatched game, then it will play 100% identical to an OG PS4. So there's no point in comparing those.

Because the differences between OG and Pro supported games ranges from minor to pretty big.

and it's a list which updates with each new game now, those are mostly just older games which were pro patched post release. If you've got an OG and 1080p TV, I wouldn't recommend switching immediately either, but for someone who doesn't have a PS4 yet, jumping in with a Pro is the smarter choice.

Are u on a 4k TV or a 1080p ? I am more or less in the same boat as you where i can literally perceive no difference at all. But I'm guessing this has more to do with my 1080 display and the the pro would really shine on a 4k display only. From what I have read PRO has minimal benefit for 1080 displays. I am actually planning (and saving) for a 4k display now. I think the picture quality even on a base model 4k HDR TV would be a hell lot better than my current 1080p display.
