Is anyone else getting slower download speeds on ptcl these days? Wats goin on?

Slower download speeds is because we are not getting internet at its full speed. Also, my net is suffering from constant discconections

No disconnections here.

But slow downloading, slow browsing, however pings are okay. Restarted router but made no difference.

What's it this time? Technical issues or undersea cable damage again?

Rain isn't supposed to affect fiber.

Also, make sure they give you the D-Link DSL-225 VDSL modem and not the crap Cellpipe one.

Thanks for the heads up but i will eventually get my own modem + router, as a matter of fact i am looking to buy TP-Link Archer VR600, it doesn't seem to be available anywhere in Pakistan so far.
Spent last couple of hours doing google search.

Modem + router combos are crap.

Use the PTCL VDSL modem, put it in bridge mode, and configure PPPoE on any good router that you'll choose and disable the WiFi on the PTCL modem and use your own router for all connections.

That's what i am using currently, the purpose of getting modem+router combo is to reduce clutter. I need to buy an AC router so i was thinking why not buy a modem + router combo.

In my opinion, having two 'dabbay' on the table looks nicer.
I had a wired ADSL modem hooked up to a Dual band router in bridge mode and it looked quite nice. All those blinking lights lol.

Anyway, for me and whoever I've tried helping out, modem/router combos are usually crap and annoying to work with. Especially TPLink ones.

Yeah, it was the same for me, IP assigned, nothing was working, so I went ahead and rebooted.
Now no IP and obviously nothing works.
Hasn't been working since early morning.

So far it seems only ISB/RWP users are affected.

guys its been 2 weeks+ my ping goes high everyday at around 7pm and it get fixed at around exactly 12am-12:30am latency increases around 100ms in all regions eu,dxb,speedtest (islamabad ptcl server) it doesn't effect the internet speed its always same (35ms to 130ms on ptcl islamabad server) (70 to 170ms dxb server) (170ms to 280ms eu servers) i am fed up with it any idea what to do? first i thought its some issue from ptcl but then i asked my friend they said they are not facing this issue [MENTION=11094]StrikerX[/MENTION] @

Nothing unusual, happens during peak hours. Especially on weekends.

but everyday for around 2 weeks at same time ?
there's not been a single day except sunday i haven't faced this issue.

Depends also on the node in your area. If it gets overloaded during a certain period of time, performance tends to deteriorate during certain hours. In your case, during the evening.

facing exactly same problem for 4+ weeks..let me know if you find any solution..previously i didn't face this kind of problem ever..
