PTCL guys came today to verify the integrity of the fiber (?). They connected some device to the node/connector inside my room and then one to the other end outside (that's inside that plastic box) and shone a light. It was OK.

They said that the connection should be active soon, most probably within this week and that no further configuration would be required in the ONT.

Was there a red light visible through the cable?

They were probably sent by quality control guys to make sure no issues occurred during splicing, so they use a VFL to see if the fiber is broken anywhere.

Yeah, perhaps the feature was prematurely added to their site.

I mentioned Arslan in an earlier post. He had the same situation today. They treated the fast path request as a complaint since he got asked if his internet was working fine.

yep same here my request for high ping for Europe was treated same lineman called me and asked please remove complaint your internet is working fine

Isn't it symmetric upload and download rate on vdsl. Are these downsream and upstream rates fine for 25 mbps? Also is fastpath enabled as I was asking ptclcares for a while?

Try pinging your gateway IP. If it's around 11ms, then you're on fast path.

Up/down is not symmetrical on VDSL, it isn't even symmetrical on GPON.

The stats are perfectly fine, and no, FAST is not enabled.

Probably subscribed to SmartTV. They allocate extra bandwidth for that.

Try pinging your gateway IP. If it's around 11ms, then you're on fast path.

Just checked some old posts on the forum, isn't interleaver depth of '1' and Delay(msec) of '0' means that fast path is enabled.

Yes, sorry I misread the stats.

Run a speedtest on the PTCL server that is nearest to you (Islamabad / Lahore / Karachi) and see the ping that you get. It should be below 20 ms.

I am not talking about 192.168.1.1. Found the gateway IP in the Device Info -- Route (182.181.0.1)<-Getting ping of 4ms.

Yeah then you're definitely on FAST path. Gateway ping on VDSL is normally around 18-20 ms.
