saw "Terminator Genisys" IMAX 3D early screening at cinestar imax

so saw the early screening :) was a good experience. movie was good a mixture of first part with second for the first 30 or so minutes and than the real movie starts... arnold was quite good even at this age, jai courtney as kyle reese again fun and jason clarke as john connor was good too. emilia clarke well she was OK reason is i'd take the first sarah connor from the original movies heck even lena headey over this one any day... those were bad a** this one tries to be bad a** and fails and well is a bit too emotional aswell.

well anyways the movies totally changed they had re done the timelines, alternate timelines and what not. it gives new comers something aswell along with who have seen the previous movies ( part 1 and 2 ) . part 3 and 4 have no value in this movie at all it's like they never existed and for good reason :D

quite a lot of action here and there with emotional bits and its... story is ok but i went for well action and it was satisfying.

the whole trailers really upset me the twist etc but it's ok i guess otherwise the twist if had not seen in the trailers would had been quite awesome.

score from hans zimmer for the original soundtrack etc right at the end and inbetween was good too. that babam bam babam at the end nostalgia :D and what not...

ps: there's a mid credit scene so don't be so quick to run out :p

if i had to say the original were original no doubt nothing can beat those but this one's atleast better than the third and fourth .

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2:
I kinda liked the first part. This, however, was terrible. Tons and tons of really cringe/groan worthy scenes of the highest level. Hardly any laughs and a lot of reused jokes/moments which weren't funny to be begin with.
5/10

Get Hard:
Didn't laugh once, not once in the entire movie. Some chuckle worthy scenes but most of the time I was just staring at the TV with hardly a smile on my face. I however did some of the nods towards concentration of wealth and how the movie dealt with black-white gang situations.

Alison Brie was HOT! but man her character was so annoying. Kevin Hart was good, I always like him in everything. Will Ferrel, meh.
6/10

Unfinished Business:
Another comedy which was hardly funny. But surprisingly, the movie was pretty good despite that. It was more about the struggle of success in business and how much shit you have to take to get forward. It also touched bullying in school in a nice way.
The movie felt more drama than comedy. And while it did try to give us those moments and stuff, I liked it for its more serious stuff. Funny how that works.

The Babadook

This movie is about a widow with a single child, who are being haunted by an entity known as The Babadook.

After hearing so much praise for this film, honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. The movie was shot well and I applaud it for not relying on cheap jump scares and instead use other means to inject fear into the viewer. Problem was that while there was some genuine creepy moments in the film, it always felt like they were cut short and didn't truly terrify me, leaving me unfulfilled. And while the movie did a good job of using the good old technique of keeping the monster in the dark and using its presence and the idea of it to scare, the movie did show the monster and I couldn't help but find it more funny looking then terrifying, which consequently reduced the fear factor of the scenes that followed. And it didn't help that there was literally no lore or info about the monster whatsoever.

Now, on to the good parts. The acting in the movie was fantastic. Essie Davis, who plays the mother, was absolutely superb. She did such a good job. Oscar Worthy Performance in my opinion. The kid in the movie was fantastic too and I was really surprised because kids, especially in horror movies, almost always suck. But he gave a great performance. I also loved how the movie turned the table and makes you change your sympathies for the characters. I also liked how it delved into the depression of the mother and showed its horrors. And used the situation at hand as an allegory to it.

All in all, the movie was disappointing as I had high expectations, but that doesn't mean it was bad. I still liked it overall. Issues aside, it is nice to see horror movies like these.

Yeah. Its main focus was depression due to a lost loved one.
The spooks definitely felt fresh as compared to typical horror movies but most of them felt like they didn't reach THAT level because the tension build up always got cut short, know what I mean.

Honestly its been ages since we have seen some authentic original n really spooky horror movie, not even a decent comedy or any worth watching movie. I think Oscar nominations were the best, n since then its all time pass. Movies with lots of boom n fast pace action r getting attention. Birdman was true about this aspect of current cinema. :/
