I'd STRONGLY discourage newcomers from modifying their own Xbox 360s. Its best to hand it over to a professional or someone who has experience in this regard.

Secondly, modifying one's Xbox 360 requires special equipment which is not easily available in the local market anyway.

The problem your facing is you have an Old Firmware.. You cant play games like Tekken 6, ACII, Modern Warfare 2.. Any games after MW2 or Tekken 6.. Your running on an old firmware.. If you live in Karachi then contact "Faizy" in PG, he modifies consoles.. He can flash your drive with the latest firmware.. It requires skill and equipment.. You have huge chance of destroying your console if you think about doing it yourself..

I recently burned Battlefield Bad Company 2 and it kept giving me the "The disk in unreadable," Error during the start of the game. I followed the microsoft support process (Clean the disk, clear cache) and it worked fine after I cleared the cache. Played the game for about 3 hours.

Then later my brother played and he started getting the same error, not at the start of the campaign mode but before a mission that I had already played. Now the error keeps coming.

All my other disks work fine.

Edit: On my profile the game works fine. But if anyone else plays it they get an error. Strange.

Then its probably a disc problem.. Have you tried another copy of Battlefield Bad Company 2?

Get another game copy. Most probably the game wasn't probably burnt. Happens once in a while.

That's natural don't worry about it.It also happened with my 360.

You can connect mouse and keyboard but only for writing purpose on dash board. The games don’t support mouse and keyboard controls.

1)- Which region should I get? Keep in mind that I'm not getting it chipped.

2)- What's with the Live membership? What about buying stuff online; is it region locked like the PSN Store is?

Hmmm since you wont get it modified erm:

1). I prefer NTSC for some reason.. I dont get why people love PAL lol..
2). Live Membership is your Xbox Live Subscription I Dont know how much it costs.. I dont think its region locked..

1)- PAL all the way.

2)- You can have a US account on PAL console. You can use any XBL Gold Membership card because they are region free BUT MS Points are NOT. If you have a US account, you need to buy US MS Points card. All the stuff on US XBL Marketplace is available on UK XBL Marketplace. Nothing is locked.

PAL will do just fi9, btw it'll cost u less then NTSC

since many games are region locked on ntsc-j
while almost all the games land on pal like ff13, ashes, etc
and yeah pal's cheaper too...

ntsc-j is only good for those who buy malaysians only... even ntsc-j online library is limited.
