Hahah Shoaib was being modest there. Sami was destined for great things as even Imran gave him private coaching lessons at one point of his career. Beats me why that didn't translate to success at the Test level.

may be the Management he has worked with wasn't very good earlier and didn't give him much confidence
as the player needs confidence and time to settle rather than having a AXE on there head you not gonna perform you are gonna axed
like sarfaraz ahmed has been chances quite a few times but couldnt prove it in previous management but he has been given confidence by new management and proved him self

though we have lots of bowlers at backend if one doesnt perform we replace him quick as there are hundreds of them waiting in queue and we still shuffle with old ones those who are tried and tested KUKDI doesn't perform much but still gets selected for T20s because he has been labeled as t20 specialist what sort of special performance he has been providing with the bat and ball

Team was heavily relied on Ajmal and Hafeez both are Banned unofficially and we didn't look for someone impressive enough to replace using Hafeez as a specialist batsmen where as he will fail miserably on Fast pitches
Soon you will see him Leaving the ball and ball getting hit on The stumps or you will find him Edging the ball towards Slip

So we have openers Hafeez and Shehzad other one is Sarfaraz and we are heavily relying on him
he has yet to show his performance outside UAE


BTW i am seeing Younis retirement as well after worldcup he might play Test but How many test do we play in a year so he may retire from all form of cricket

I do. I see him edging ball , getting caught behind the stumps easily on both dead or fast pitches. I don't know why they are relying on him on Fast pitches as a batsman where as his bowling will also be failed which he can't do as he is banned. However I would say sarfaraz has opened successfully so far. But as you said. We cannot say anything about him on overseas pitches. I am hopeful for Maqsood, Sarfaraz , Shahzad and haris sohail and a bit on Umar Akmal about batting.

One can argue that Sohail Khan has been bowling extremely well and is taking bucket loads of wickets in domestic Cricket. But what has Ehsan Adil done to merit a selection? A cursory glance at his exploits over the past few months yields nought. He isn't taking wickets nor has he scored runs.

Moin Khan has stumped me here. :S

It was always going to be a tie between Zulfiqar and Yasir. In the end, Yasir appears to have received the nod on the basis of his fielding, fitness and utility with the bat I think.

Condolences with Fawad Alam fans first of all. Well he is making good money from Haeir ads anyway.
Surprised to see Hafeez in the squad who is not allowed to bowl. Asad Shafiq is a million times better batsman than Hafeez. Sohail Tanveer was a much better choice than Ehsan but then we already have three left arm pacers. Sohail Khan can be helpful on the bouncy wickets bcoz he has pace.

& why Pak selectors persist with Wahab Riaz!!
& why chose Hafeez when he can't bowl!!

[MENTION=52830]mbk99[/MENTION] Fawad Alam chokes against top teams and specially against pace bowlers.
Wahab Riaz can bowl at 150 Km/h.
The only thing i can say about Hafeez is that he is an old time buddy of Misbah and have strong ties with team management.

Agreed on hafeez but Wahab Riaz may have pace but he is wayward and concedes a lot of runs, & never saw him bowl @ 150km/h.
And Fawad Alam is class, he is far better player then Umar Akmal, people don't like him because he doesn't have big shots, but he is handy Middle order batsmen & an excellent fielder and can also bowl SLA if needed.
Also spare a thought for Asad Shafiq.
