used german car in this price range doesn't make much sense, but near 30 lakhs, you can get a lot of cool Japanese cars including Honda Vezel, lexus c200h, prius etc. in almost new condition.

In 30 lakhs you'll get a german car that will require high maintenance. khair, my point is that there are much better options in 30 lakh budget than the civic. And, if you want a 'zero meter' car, you can get that too in Japanese vehicles.

The vezel is still better in 30 lac range. Only negative with the vezel is that cruise control restricted to japanese limits. Otherwise it has all the features.

Prius sports u can buy in this range. Or import a low km prius which will be as gud as new.

Spend 10 lac more and buy new audi a3

i think this new civic would be costly in mantaining aswell.. not as much as german cars but more than the previous models

It's a brand new car so it wouldn't require any such maintenance. A 2008 low end Mercedes would probably be driven around 80-100k. That's well past the prime of the car. Just because it has a Merc tag on it doesn't mean it's automatically better.

How much luggage space does a vezel have? My 2011 Altis can hold three suitcases easily with plenty of space to place things above it. Vezel looks like it barely has enough space for 1 suitcase.

As far as the new civic is concerned, there are a lot of quality issues and atlas has cut corners (like Indus). The quality issues might improve overtime but for the moment people should avoid getting it for at least the next 3-6 months I'd say, price for 1.5T is quite high as well :\

Another thing that Atlas has made compulsory for 1.5T is 91RON fuel and the one available to us currently is 87 and below. Government is making arrangements with refineries to improve quality of fuel here and we might see some petrol pumps selling 91RON petrol fuel but total availability will still be an issue. Also, Attock Oil refinery (producer for north region) isn't part of this deal and they'll produce 87+ (can be 87.1 or it can be 91 no one knows).

Engine warranty will be void if any problem arises and the customer is found to have used petrol <91RON as per Atlas officials (source: pakwheels)

Isn't our HOBC > 87 ? As far as I know it is 90 RON, but the problem is how many stations in a city has HOBC?

HOBC is >87 yes but HOBC is rarely available (at least in Rawalpindi) and what to do if going to someplace other than ISB/LHR/KHI because HOBC isn't available in smaller cities.

p.s HOBC will be bumped to >95 once normal is 91.

People are still buying it, now if they don't find HOBC mostly will mix it with normal petrol which is told to be 87 RON but we know the quality of our supreme petrol :D Good times ahead.

People are hasty and in Pakistan the consumers are part of the problem as well. These companies (all 3) take advantage of it & why not after all they are running a business and if consumers are giving them this much space, why would they care.

I just checked the price of different models of the new civic, the simplest one i.e. 1.8 vtec is going for about 2.4Mil excluding the tax or any other shashkay, this price however is equivalent to last year's civic flagship.

I don't get why most of the people are not happy with the prices, civic have always been overpriced in the Pakistani market. Prices are raised appx 3-5 lakhs which no one care about while paying for a 2mil+ car.
