Stick vs Pad!

Well I was wondering no thread regarding which weapon YOU should choose while playing Fighting games. Mainly there are two categories, 1) Fighting Stick 2) Game Pad..


I myself play with Game Pad ever since I jumped into gaming scene. I have also tried playing with Stick once or twice. Movement is good with stick but getting grip is lil difficult (which off course comes after practicing).

So what do you guys suggest. Game pad or Stick??

lol, yes I read it. I read the last line as well, and that's why I asked the question. Are you asking us our preference or our suggestion? Cause the OP is kinda ambiguous on that. =\

Hmm..Lolz..Now i focused on the OP and was laughing myself...Well lets put the question in an another way...

WHICH GEAR DO YOU GUYS USE TO PLAY FIGHTING GAMES AND WHAT IS THE REASON FOR USING IT???

arcade stick for me.
reason: bcoz beat'em ups are made to be played on arcade stick.

Well actually there must be three categories , ps3 or Xbox 360 controller , Fighting Game Pad and a Fight Stick. I had my transition from all three so i would say the fight Stick all the way .

Reason: There is so much i can do on the fight stick which i could not have done on the Controller or the Fight pad. Precision in execution is all that matters in playing fighting games and nothing can be more precise then a Good fight Stick. Not to mention people have done wonders on a simple console controller .

^I don't know about that, I've seen Fareed and Basarat play really with a stick (MK)

Well I think MK is better with controller rather than stick...The execution of combos are quite easy with controller...Stick might also ease the play but I haven't played with it yet...

Exceptions Baby, But it can be played on the stick but i feel more comfortable on the controller while playing it, Since execution of combos in mk are not as hard as ssf4 ( no frame shit).

for ssf4,s fireball,shouryuken charecter ,quality arcade stick is the best..
for move charging and qtr (bison,guile,blanka etc)pad is the best..
for tekken6 mishimas and f`qcf player arcade stick(baseball bat type) is superb
and for other players only ps3 pad is very good...xbox pad sux

Hey, hey, hey! >.> The 360 controller is awesome! The PS3 one is ass. Well, from the perspective of the thumb sticks anyway, IMO. I prefer playing on the controller. Simply because I started off with it, and now I'm much more used to it. For SSFIV, T6, and MK (MK especially), in most cases, a controller works just as well as an arcade stick. But I do agree that an arcade stick is much better overall, and I would switch if I had one and if the transition process wasn't so annoying. xD
