Donno i m lost!!
The developers responsible for those AAA IPs have been proven to be lackluster, as I already mentioned.
Max Payne, Alan Wake(not the arcade one), Farcry 1, Crysis1 are NOT average games. i personally think a fresh IP is a fresh start for any Dev. its the endless sequels that drag down some. ur entitled to ur opinion but Ryse and Quantum Break are AAA titles.

Why not? What has Crytek produced recently that can be considered impressive? Same goes for Remedy. Let's not forget how mediocre games like Crysis 3 and Alan Wake: American Nightmare are. You really think these developers can make better games than the likes of KZ and Infamous?
Crysis loss its charm soon after it went under EA publishing(like countless great IPs) and AW: AN was an arcade game. it was not a priority and now we know why ;)
KZ is not the target...we have Halo for that and compared to Infamous(an average game), these games are more than promising.

lol you say 500GB HDD like the PS4's HDD isn't going to offer the same size. And forcing consumers to buy the camera with the console is a terrible move by MS, whichever way you look at it.
of course not...but i think the 400$ ver is not the premium sku of PS4 whereas for One, there is only One and that is premium :)
also considering if M$ went with a non-camera model. then new kinect looks bloody expensive, 150$ easily. now what looks better
400$+150$ combo deal/premium sku
or
500$ combo deal
its a pretty risky step i agree but it will show its success soon

Not a problem, I'm subbed anyway. Besides, it's not any different for XBL. Both consoles require you to pay for online gaming now. With the PS3, Sony didn't have the services to match XBL. Now they do.
thats a pretty bold claim with no concrete facts to back it up....true the new PSN looks better than the old but ur forgetting the new XBL is also vastly improved than its predecessor. if we use simple maths here, it seems XBL is still going to lead the console community services this gen.
PLUS they have free games plan now too. thats a big deal!

@Shyber: nice overview...i guess i can agree to that somewhat but strictly speaking games, i think M$ took the lead here.

Yep, probably 'cos Sony had showed almost all of their games in February. MS's conference wouldn't have had the same kick if they had shown their games in their conference.

I don't know about you but I think it was an even match and Sony took it away from MS with their Used Game policies and console price tag.

The opening with MGS5 was phenomenal but the re-reveal of Versus as FFXV is even a bigger deal and something just as mind blowing. You can say that KH3 announcement was a cherry on the cake.

We can pit Drive club and Forza as an equal showing from what was shown. (Though the McLaren P1 on stage was Awegasmatic™).

RYSE looks phenomenal but it's Crytek and they've been a hit/miss for many MANY gamers. (Mostly a miss). The QTEs already look like a chore.

Project Spark is something amazing, but you can compare its showing to Knack.

Quantum Break has so far been my favorite in MS's exclusive lineup and so is Second Sons in Sony's camp.

Sunset Overdrive is another interesting game that caught my attention but GG have bested Insomniac when it comes to shooters and Shadow Fall looks quite different from a KZ game.

Titanfall was an amazing showing but we can agree that Destiny was a more promising and interesting new take when it comes to online MP shooter.

Then there was Dead Rising 3, ReadyAtDawn's "The Order" is as different from it as you can get but at least it had zombie like creatures :p

Then we saw Elder Scrolls Online, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Diablo3 announcements against BF3 and Witcher 3.

If you talk about Xbox360 and PS3 showing, well, I guess it wasn't exactly a comparison. Where they showed a multiplat Dark Souls 2, Sony had The Last of Us, Beyond and Gran Turismo 6 to talk about.

If we talk about the indie stuff, again Sony's show had more stuff on display. Three of which are to be free for Plus members upon launch!

Then of course the work in progress shown was amazing (just before Halo announcement), but Cage's Sorceror was way more interesting. Didn' know that guy had a sense of humor :p

And of course, with every Xbox comes the promise of a new Halo and 60FPS at that! But we do know that SSM and ND were noticeably absent so there's that promise.

So all in all, it was quite comparable IMO but Sony's policies and pricing made them climb on top of MS. It sucks that online gaming is restricted to plus members only but I suppose we can thank MS for bringing that evil to the market. Sony's getting smarter for sure.
chaaaa gaya cheetay :wink2:

M$ plan was to dedicate E3 for quality games only. they delivered on that with spades. who cares abt some small time invite only conferences :p

plus Sony's COMPLETE lineup(for next-gen) is less than what M$ showed in E3 and there is still stuff that M$ hasn't showed yet(prolly saving for other major event).

DHA KARACHI.
How are hardcore gamers actually supporting M$? After DRM, used game policy, tv crap features, $500 price point, kinect heavy stance, weaker hardware and lack of 1st party studios? Seriously, somebody - anybody enlighten me on this.

Everyone knows which direction MS is heading in. They did the same with the X360 with various timed exclusives. Two, three years down the lane and MS had a dry exclusive line up.

Not to worry, November isn't far off. Let's see which one of us turns out right about Ryse. ;)

Crysis loss its charm soon after it went under EA publishing(like countless great IPs)
Every game that they have developed outside of the original Far Cry was published by EA. Sure took them long enough to lose their charm under EA's publishing. lol

KZ is not the target...we have Halo for that and compared to Infamous(an average game), these games are more than promising.
Infamous is an average series based on what criteria? It was well-received by critics, which is hardly what I can say for American Nightmare, and sold reasonably well too.

of course not...but i think the 400$ ver is not the premium sku of PS4
Sony hasn't announced anything on the possibility of multiple SKUs. If they sell one with the new PS Eye camera, it will most likely cost $450 (the camera isn't as expensive or as complex as Kinect 2.0).

And that's not even factoring the fact that the PS4 hardware is superior to that of the Xbox One. That 8GB of GDDR5 memory doesn't come cheap, remember? :p

A cross-game party system is all that was lacking, and the PS4 has that. Sony has already been doing server-based multiplayer for some of its 1st-party exclusive games. XBL doing the same is great, but hardly what I would call a vast improvement.

Crytek's most recent effort, also know as their self-proclaimed "masterpiece" says it all. They've been on a downward spiral ever since Warhead.
Maybe in your opinion. Crysis 2 is received just as good as Warhead by the critics.
Infamous' sequel was inferior to the first game going by the critics. Therefore there is no guarantee that Sucker Punch can put out a better game. Moreover, they have yet to release a game which is unanimously praised by the critics, unlike GG and Crytek. Speaking of GG, they haven't been consistent in their "AAA" offerings either (70, 91, 84).
Like JourneysEnd said, it may be your personal dislike but the track records hardly give GG and Sucker Punch an edge over Crytek.

+ The PS4 design. Truly looks like something from the future.
+ USD 399, No-DRM, No-Internet Authentication.
+ Destiny.
+ Driveclub free @ launch for PS Plus.
+ First party titles.
- Not many first party titles shown.
- Didn't bag a major 3rd party exclusive like Titanfall.

Xbox One had a super impressive conference but Sony delivered a sucker punch with 399 USD, and no-DRM.
Easy win for Sony.

Yeah, but we know it only went down from there. Neither of Crysis 2 and Warhead were considered mediocre. Crysis 3, on the other hand, was a different story. If it weren't for their recent game, Crytek would still have been considered respectable.

Infamous' sequel was inferior to the first game going by the critics.
The sequel wasn't inferior enough to be termed mediocre.

And they have yet to release a game which is unanimously praised by the critics, unlike GG and Crytek. GG have been inconsistent in their "AAA" offerings as well (70, 91, 84).
Unanimous praise or not, Sucker Punch has yet to produce a mediocre game, even if you take the PS2 generation into account.

Killzone 1 was bad, but it was Guerrilla Games' very first game. They haven't looked back since then.

ur missing the point...tell me this. what would have been the price of One if we take out kinect 2.0 only? in my opinion <400$. now u see where that expensive RAM comes into play? M$ took a gamble here but i think it will work out for them. specially after the first price drop.

A cross-game party system is all that was lacking, and the PS4 has that. Sony has already been doing server-based multiplayer for some of its 1st-party exclusive games. XBL doing the same is great, but hardly what I would call a vast improvement.
u think XBL's lead past-gen was based on cross-game chat only? i mean like srsl? no-doubt that cross game chat is something so basic that its absence is nothing short of pathetic but still this is not that BIG of a feature.
tell me this...what is PSN bringing new to the table except for that game DVR social thingy(which XBL also has) and forced subscription for something that WAS FREE?
the new XBL is bringing free games(not one but 2) and dvr social thingy along with unparalleled multitasking. skype may look lulz to u but its a big feature as from now on its not just cross game chat anymore but cross any-skype-capable-device chat. now thats a BIG thing!

to be frank...it doesn't matter what way u guys look at it. sony dropped a equally big bomb as M$'s DRM when they announced PS+ mandatory for MP . u guys can defend that as much as u like :)

Titanfall is also available on PC + it is not really a exclusive. It has been confirmed by the guy (CBoat), who leaked almost 90% authenticate E3 info, that Destiny is timed exclusive and will come to PS4 eventually.

Necrokiller: Do look at PS2 titles of Sucker Punch. Their Sly series is highly rated on metacritic and a cult classic. So they are certainly not some unknown one hit devs.

MP is now behind a paywall.....

$5 a month...still fucking cheap I'd say.
5 a month is 60$ per year, that's exactly the same as XBL Gold, surprising it sounds so cheap to you when it's Sony, otherwise its a fucking travesty huh ? (lmao)

It seems to me @Journeys End has no idea of PS+ and its impact. Let me refresh his memory.

Edit: And from the above post, even @Chandoo has no idea :p

PS+ is not a simple subscription service. It comes with big rewards.

Instant Game Collection = 3 AAA titles for PS3, 3 AAA titles for PS Vita for a period of 1 year. After which, they are shuffled to some other ones.

Monthly 2-3 free PS3 games and 2-3 free VITA games. Sometimes, we also get Cross-Buy so it means we get games for both PS Vita and PS3. Total close 50 free games(PS3/PSV) are given every year on PS+. They are not indie titles, AAA games like Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution are also available on it.

Insane deals and discounts. Just look at the E3 sale and look at the plus price. Do you ever see such type of deals on Xbox Live gold?
